The hair is extremely goofy... From what i remember them saying in content they're not particularly fond of these styling choices either 😭 song is still fire asl tho.
A little interesting fact which a lot of new fans probably don't know is that Doyoung and Johnny actually didn't debut with Firetruck. They were added to NCT 127 for the Limitless album. So much so that many people didn't really know Doyoungs voice much and many believed that Whiplash was sung by only Taeyong, Taeil, Jaehyun and Mark when in reality Doyoung is also in it. (for those that want to check, it's most obvious around 2:30 to 2:42 in the song).
Taeyongs voice growl/roll is so satisfying! One of the things I really like about limitless tbh x

Yes the styling was a bit.. how do i say this, goofy? but the more you watch it the less weird it gets, its just that win-win may go off as racist because of the locs he had during the preformance video, i am black and i know and am educated on these topics and i dont see what the problem is, because just because the people who style him or he decides the hairstyle does not mean he's trying to appropriate or be racist, he could have just liked the hairstyle and wanted it.
doyoung debuted in nct with 7th sense, however didn't debut in 127 til limitless 🤗
I assume *Limitless* the hidden gem of 127. the chorus is soooo good and addicting, also the Johnny's dance break part and the beats are so dope. yes the hairstyles were goofy but I honestly think they slayed it. It's actually the one NCT song that got my attention (tho I found out late) and still No.1 fav. You should watch the Rough ver it's kind of funny and so random.

the reason why the performance mv got more views is because sm fucked up. they didn’t release the mv properly. even the japanese version was released after a while

But the clothing styles are meant to reference "the streets", with basketball t-shirts, dreads, messy hair, and baggy clothes.
The song talks about not fitting into the industry, just like the poor people who supposedly have this style "don't fit into society".
Winwin said that although the members didn't like it, he said he really liked the concept and that his hair was so, so beautiful that he couldn't wait to try it again.

NCT-127's "Limitless" is about being in a dream. Everything NCT does is connected to their concept which is all centered around dreams, dreaming or being in a dream state and it is also thought to be connected to EXO and SuperM's storyline. All of NCT's MVs are based on that dream concept.
I think the feeling you are supposed to get from the MVs is the feeling of being trapped in a dream. In the performance version I interpret it as being in that foggy reality, in an in between state, when you are half in and half out of a dream. All of what you see happening is happening within a dream.
Because what you just watched was the regular MV, which has more of a storyline, you heard the song in Japanese. "Limitless" is one of NCT-127's Japanese songs. However, in the performance version, you heard the song in Korean. The vocal lineup and choreography is a little different in the Japanese version, because, for one, it features NCT-127's Japanese member Yuta slightly more prominently. (But Yuta still doesn't have enough lines even in the Japanese version.)
They also have a "rough version," which is more of a documentary/behind the scenes "rough" cut MV.
Fun fact: "Limitless" came out in January 2017 and it's Johnny's official debut in NCT -- the guy with the Rangers jersey on -- and Doyoung's debut as a member of NCT-127 (Doyoung first debuted in "The 7th Sense" as a member of NCT-U, but he was not part of NCT-127's debut). At this point NCT-127 now has has 9 members -- Taeyong (leader of all of NCT, main rapper and dancer), Taeil (main vocalist), Johnny (lead vocalist and sub-rapper), Yuta (lead vocalist), Haechan (main vocalist and also a member of NCT-Dream), WinWin (lead vocalist, lead dancer and sub-rapper), Doyoung (main vocalist), Mark (main rapper and dancer who is the leader of NCT-Dream) and Jaehyun (main vocalist and sub-rapper).
Also, the term for what Taeyong does with his voice in "Limitless" is called a vocal fry. It is an actual singing technique. There is no computerization of his voice. A vocal fry uses the lowest register of the voice to vibrate the vocal cords while speaking or singing. Taeyong has a full range when it comes to singing and rapping and it's one of the reasons why he gets so many lines in NCT and SuperM songs because they can do so much with his voice.

so nct MVs have storyline. as u can see there are cameras everywhere (more than 60 percent of their MVs ) and Taeil Johnny and sometimes other are watching . while others are kinda trying to escape. because this is all DREAM LaB. actually all NCT members are in this experiment . someone connecting their dreams and watching . we think WayV start this thing because in their MV there are a lot of technology . they can build lab easy. NCT 127 are like lab rats u can see they are running and running . that's why there are some mistery atmosphere (flying rocks and fire) here because this is all dream. within a dream.
Limitless was 2017, johnny and Doyoung finally debut. Winwin was still in NCT127 and Jungwoo had not debut yet in 2017. Limitless is my anthem song. You should also check Fire Truck, Cherry Bomb and Simon Says.
