Sounds like a plausible theory. She is off key, but it is oddly consistent.
I've noticed that usually if a person starts out singing off key, they soon shift to the original key after hearing that something is off.
She was off-key in her jury rehearsal and in 2nd one you may hear her struggle, maybe Samanta should have had higher key?
There is a psychological phenomenon when performing under huge stress, intonation might go up, and it easy “easy” to overblow notes, it takes good inner hearing to control that.
She wasn’t off key from 1:37 to 1:49 .
It's mind-blowing to me that Samanta who has such a powerful voice was off-key the entire pefromance
It was the same during the jury show the evening before. Strange. Maybe it's because the instrumental track is kind of "empty", it's mainly only very deep bass notes and drums, so there's not a lot of chords to guide you right.

I hope she reads this! Would be a shame if the countries that left in the semi finals were too disappointed. It was a very strong competition this year and many good artists didn't make it.

Was she overwhelmed/overexcited or nervous because her vocals are not it, which is annoying because I know she can sing perfectly and that for me made it hard for me to watch. Not forgetting the crowd didn’t cheer at all at the end :(

I really love her attitude, hairstyle, dress and energy. Unfortunately she didn't sing as well as usual and the background was so intensive that she was hardly seen on the stage. Song itself is so unique that not everybody can connect with. Like Harlem Shake. These are the reasons for non-qualification, a pity.
There is a big difference how a performance can be managed. Compare Cyprus - El Diablo. Everything on point. This could also be like that with the right production manager. But at the end it was a boring stand alone singing with weird graphica that took away the shine from the dress...

The sooner you accept it the sooner you will realised why it didn't qualify. The Song is nowhere near what the Studio Version sounded like and overall it's just a letdown. I loved Romania when I listened to it on Spotify but the Live Singing was probably the worst one ovwe Tha Acts which is disappointing but people keep saying it was a robbery which is not! And I was a big fan of that song! Overall just bad performance sadly. I hope she gets another chance someday!
