I dont like having my ceiling light on while i work. And its behind me so i end up casting a shadow onto my desk. The light bar solves this problem. The light bar has sharp light cut offs so the light doesnt reflect on your screen and doesnt shine towards your face, so it only light up to the edge on your desk. I also spend 10 hours a day at my desk. The light bar actually relieves eye strain too.
I got mine last year and there totally amazing guys u all need to get one. For real guys. Go get one trust me u will never go back to a standard lamp again
i got one as well it's totally game changer. at first i thought it's just aesthetics but when i used it for a week yea, i can confirm it's only for anesthetics

I have one of these, the BenQ one. Itâs really good but it gets in the way of putting your webcam on top of your monitor.

had one these for years, defo worth cut back my eye strain, as I like to work in dark so lets me keep my office dark but keep my desk luminated and saves space than a lamp.

I personally don't see a difference on glare when it's on or off , the model I got is very bright in dark situations so just check the reviews for the model you are planning to get

@@ReepsWasteOfTime it really depends on what you want it for and it is not completely useless , I usually use it if I'm doing some kind of work or assignment on paper so it illuminates my whole table , much easier to write on my eyes compared to no light at all. It also makes your whole setup look much nicer than it used to be

I have one of these and it's invaluable for studying and writing on your desk without taking up any space.
I started getting migraines from my led light bar. I do have lattice degeneration in my eyes so if I have LEDs near me I freak out that I'm gonna go blind. All my lights are soft white 2700k so my eyesight doesn't deteriorate that fast
I love how he spent the majority of the time describing the product and then completely glossed over why it's of any use. "Oh it lights up the space" yeah that's what a light does! Why would I spend $50 on this to do that when I can get a low profile light strip for far cheaper and slap it on the back of the monitor for way more light. Great reveiw /s Lol

Adding LED strips to the back of the monitor only helps to add more biased lighting, it doesn't nothing for your actual desk top.

Initially you thought it was pointless. And looking at the video it's clear to see before turning on the light it's not at all difficult to see anything not at all difficult to see the keyboard. It's a cute gadget, and you were right in your initial assessment.
Just because you can see something, doesn't mean it's being optimally illuminated.

Pretty much all CZcamsrs are.
But that doesn't take anything way from the usefulness of a monitor light bar at all.
I was extremely sceptical about them, but after buying the BenQ Halo and using it every day for almost a month, I can't go back to a setup without it.
I get a lot less eye strain, and I have no issues working at night.
Got a table lamp from Ikea. I have it hanging from cabinets above my monitor and my entire table lights up
Too bad you can't change the colour temperature or overall brightness of it without buying a fancy Philips Hue bulb.
That's why these light bars exist.
I actually have 2 of this (Baseus) for 2 monitors, my main purpose is for eye protection. Rather than wearing anti-rad glasses, this does the job better.
I have one from that brand too, do you have any problems with them? Mine was randomly registering touches and turned on/off. That's why I removed the capacitive touch and soldered buttons on. Never had problems since.

They're not useful until you're working late at night with an UltraWide, or SuperUltraWide. Then it makes a huge difference. There are also color control ones that help discern pantone/rgb colors better when you're color grading.

Your entire room is lit with enough led backlights etc. And you worry about your "workspace". are gyou oing to look at your mouse everytime you click or scroll the wheel? Or do you still need to be able to see to locate where the spacebar is?
