I genuinely started to believe everything in this video... until I got to the "Crossrail trains are the same size as Tube trains", I thought that cant be right... then the Crossmail really made me suspicious until Geoff's sneaky "HA GOTCHA, APRIL FOOLS" face. Nice one Geoff, I'm not even angry I fell for this XD

I remember being a middle schooler and going to the London Transport Museum more than 5 years ago. They were impressed that a young American was calling it Crossrail.

For those reading this in 2040 looking forward to The William Line's planned opening next year here's an interesting secret you might have missed. Originally the line was going to be called The Elizabeth Line because of the old Queen Elizabeth. When she died they hastily renamed it The Charles Line but it never operated as that either.

Very informative. Looking forward to trying all of these tips & tricks when the line eventually opens in 2030! Being from Minneapolis I was dismayed that the Prince estate is causing so much disruption. I actually liked the purple color.....
The best April fool gag on the CrosLizPurpLine would have been saying it was now scheduled to open in 2019..... ROFL
The only thing I wish were true from this is the zone 10 thing, as then Slough would finally be in a travelcard zone (probably Zone 7) and TFL might take over the buses!

There is an extension to allow Crossrail trains to go on to the West Coast Main Line, with services planned as far as Tring.
Omg F me I trust Geoff now so much that I didn't start questioning this until the "Crossrail are the same size as tube trains" caption, and then it dawned on me with Crossmail 😅😅 well done!

Ah, April 1st! That explains why I couldn't figure out why Prince would give a crap about some train in London being purple in hue. Especially considering he died three years ago. But it was fun thinking it might be true, imagining the look of abject terror on his lawyers' faces when he summoned them from beyond the grave!

Incidentally, I like that tube map with the Chelsea-Hackney line on it (from the 90s?), interesting to see it take over the Epping branch of the Central Line, and also the original Crossrail which also ran to Amersham (and Aylesbury?)
