This video shows how we took an old Road-Rail Unimog U1250 that used to repair the overhead wire on Sydney's rail network and turned it into our dream overlanding vehicle.
I'm impressed, I watch a number of "Russian truck guys" videos (Mars Mars, Combat Crew, Custom Truck Russia) and imagine something a bit smaller but still "badass" in a practical sense. Your "beast" is pretty much exactly what I had in my mind and it's a kick to discover it, and your channel. That you did it all yourselves makes it even better. I'm an older guy whose many adventures are in the past, but I feel I've hit the "old age jackpot" with today's CZcams content with Google Earth. I'm going to enjoy exploring Australia with you and your lovely lady and that almost perfect "RV"... I can't help but think how cool it would be to build something like that with an unlimited budget using titanium, carbon fiber and whatever to drop the weight to a minimum...Well done
Thanks Mark, we find that our little truck fits in all the places a Land Cruiser goes, but we can live comfortably inside if the weather is bad and we can carry a lot more food, fuel and water ( and Iain's toys) without needing a trailer,
We have been watching your video, they are great, been an inspiration for us to get a bit more serious in our CZcams as well. Our took a bit longer than yours will, Iain only worked on in mainly evenings and weekends, but there is a tremendous amount of detail things he put into the truck as we will be using it to drive around the world.
@@TheOutFit Once things get back to normal we will restart our planning. If you have any questions, let us know. There are somethings Iain did more than once to get it right.
Wow, you pair are amazing perfectionists, ironing out stuff as you go means when on the road everything works for you. So gives you more time to Injoy you're creation. Did yourselves proud. Perfection always takes a little longer. Great story, a slowed version would be great viewing. Injoy you're travels.🥂
"WOW" mate, what a magnificent body of work. I was also amazed at the amount of work you guys did on your truck. (i put your song on the website, but it came back, so Ive just put the words on one of your vids) Gib
Ian your Unimog is a great build. I have dreamed about doing this do you have an episode that has the specs on water, fuel, batteries storage and your solar array setup.
Wow, incredible work! I am on day 3 of our conversion 😅 I had to pause a lot to look through your details 🤓 Do you have a blog or website at all please? Cheers 👍🏻

We have all the tools needed to take the tyre off the wheel, put on a proper patch inside and remount the tyre, it is not easy, but we have done it on the side of the road once. We are getting new wheels that should make this job a bit easier.
Oooh now were talking, "A labor of Love", a lot of patience, time & money went into this project. Wonderful concept...
Yes it was, 6 years of weekends and evening. Thanks for watching

Great job, I slowed it down to 25% to see the shots better! Great job on picking the engine, that one should run for a long, long time!!! Cal

Thank you, glad you liked it. You can slow the video down in the settings, but that makes it very long for most people.

Hi could you explain how to repair the punctured tyre of such large vehicle?
We have all the tools needed to take the tyre off the wheel, put on a proper patch inside and remount the tyre, it is not easy, but we have done it on the side of the road once. We are getting new wheels that should make this job a bit easier.
Hate to think what it all cost, 2nd Mortgage or no longer own an house?
less than a caravan and a landcruiser :)
You have done an awesome job very thorough well done
@@UnimogAdventures And you have a substantial resale appreciation rather than a loss
@@MrOlgrumpy that likely, but we have no plans to ever sell our truck.
