check out "the gods are messing with my skates" on CZcams
Air dolphinâs a nice guy and all. But why does he look like the band Crazy Town
Dude, the fact that he just showed up and how humble and friendly he is, that's just awesome
Agreed I love listening to this man talk, imma skater myself and my guy always seems hyped from a good place and actually has good info mad respect to the dude
The rollerblading community fully backs you. We appreciate your hard work here. Yes, Iâm speaking for all of us.
Yikes you haven't seen the video where he bashes your sport lol.
@@WhatisAPaladin apparently not.
@QuestÔes Internacionais I think blading becomes fun a lot more quickly than skateboarding, which in turn makes you stick with it and start learning the difficult technical stuff over many years. Whereas with skateboarding, you may be able to look insta-cool, riding sideways after an hour's practice - but then it takes you six months to learn to olly over a curb, and you can do literally nothing else until you've learnt to olly!
Try it. Even if you never learn a single trick in your life, just rolling through a city is the best fun you can have out of bed, lol.
@QuestÔes Internacionais just bought my self a pair so you should Fashoo
I confirm from reunion island ! đđœ
Airdolph is so incredibly likable in character, but his earnest self off the blades is just something special, damn!
This is so sick!
Refreshing to see some non "Grind-focused" Blading!
Keep killing it Jimmy!!! đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„
The "Voice" approves.
Grinds are my weakness, I thought you had to grind to be a good Rollerblader, but I guess I should focus on the aspects I like
@@AsherHalperin skating is all about having fun. The more fun you start having, the faster you'll progress.
DUDE WHAT. THAT BACKFLIP INTO FRONTFLIP WTF. đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„
Jimmys got his own unique little style developing.. More of these please!
yes!
not kidding, you brought me back to my young years when i was like the only wierd kid rollerblading in the skatepark... very tempted to pick up soms skates now and give it a crack again...
Edit: actually did it and had a blast :)
YES! Keep it up!!
So thankful you made this video so I can always remember how sick that day was!! Canât wait to blade with you again this summer!
Watching you smack your knee made me thing of your UC visit
Oh snap jimmy! Nice video! :D I appreciate the shout out đ„° pleasure meeting you! Such a spontaneous day
Even though I havenât skated in about 20 years, I still remember the secrets to airing over gaps, and just getting air in general.
First- speed. You need the speed to carry your momentum up/over/up and over
Second- crouch and arms. You want to create, like, a coiled spring with your body. As you approach your jump, get low. When youâre ready to launch, throw your arms up, almost like youâre lifting yourself up. The rest of your body will follow
Third- tuck. As your arms go up and you begin to spring upward, pull your legs and knees up as tight to your body as possible. This will give you that extra upwards momentum, and also allow you to go for a grab
Four- landing. The hard part! Sticking a landing is all about your center of gravity. Lean slightly too forward and your whelks will slide out behind you. Too far back and theyâll slip out in front of you (with a potential head injury to boot). Sticking a forward landing is all about ending up in the same position as when you started before the jump- the crouch. Let that downward momentum put you back into a stable crouch (just be careful with your knees), where your quads will keep your feet from going in all sorts of directions. Landing a 180 is a little easier, oddly enough, because you can bring your lead leg forward a bit to stabilize you.
The other crucial piece of advice is DONâT LOOK DOWN. If you look down, you go down. Spot your landing, and always keep your eyes on where you want to go. Your body is good at handling the rest.
Also, if youâre looking to just clear a small gap, like a set of 5 stairs, with enough speed, you wonât even need to really âjump.â Your speed and momentum off the flat will send you over the gap easily. Like, with that five-flat-five, with enough lead up speed, you wouldnât even need to spring up to clear the entire gap. Just build up the speed and youâll fly off the flat. Throw in a mute grab for style and youâre golden.
Thanks for reading! Hope this helps anyone just starting out. Have fun and enjoy!
damn good point, i just came back to skating after about 5 years and of all the things i was not crouching. when i get back out tomorrow imma drill it.
I love the positivity and collaboration dude. Definitely trying to bring this into the climbing community which is already pretty positive and collaborative but yeah, way to lead by example. Looking good on them blades jimmy!
I haven't skated since I was like 12, but some of these clips make me want to watch entire videos of just this combination of free running + roller blading. If Sean had done a flip down that last eight set I probably would have lost my mind.
I will FLIP down stairs soon ;)
I flipped up stairs....I didn't try down yet it's scary just posted it on the gram đ
That stall backflip front flip line was absolutely ridiculous!
I've been doing a bit of rollerblading last few weeks, was going to make a "learnt to rollerblade in 1x week " video, but got too busy having fun to film anything. đ
Heck yeah man, Sean and I are good friends. We compete together a lot and play Apex together pretty much every night lol. Heâs super dope and has a lot of skill in random things. Glad you guys got a chance to hang
Dude I love Sean heâs so cool and so nice. He has a energy around him that just radiates
This is the shit son! no tribes, no divisions, ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY!
Awesome to see! As a ski coach, one thing I noticed is you have a habit of looking down at your feet (a habit of most people, including me. Takes a long time to unlearn) Think about driving a car, itâs almost impossible to drive if you look 5 feet in front, but if you look into the distance it becomes much easier. This will pay off huge when you begin to do tricks faster and when you get on rails so you donât have to unlearn looking at the feet later, and you can focus on the end of the rail. Another thing, watch frame by frame when youâre jumping off the stairs, your upper body doesnât do much of a jump, itâs just your legs tucking up. If you focus on lifting your whole body up and THEN bringing the feet up youâll get a full extension and could easily do the whole 5f5. It all comes with practice, canât wait for the next video! (No criticism, just trying to help)
I inline skated a lot when I was younger, I really need to get back into it.
One tip that I think would help you a lot is to pay attention to your foot positioning, make sure your feet aren't parallel to each other, especially when you land a jump. Have one foot further forward and the other further back gives you a lot more balance. You can actually look at your own video and see that the skaters that have no problem landing big jumps do exactly that. You also need to figure out which foot/leg is your dominant one and use that as the main foot to land on and the other one more for stabilizing.
So excited for more Freerunners to get into rollerblading
I love your rollerblade content so much I bought my own pair!!!
Oh man..The birth of something huge.... When Parkour meets Blading... Friggin Jedi Ninjas on blades....
I love merging blading with parkour and it's amazing too see that other freerunners do that
Wanted to let you know that you inspired me to take up skateboarding. Always wanted to learn and now at 27 I'm working my way towards an Ollie. Keep up the good work man.
"now we will be riding with these oldheads who really shew us up"
*inserts footage of the all time most scuffed 180 *
You guys are making such a cool connection between Parkour and roller blading! This could blow up again.Theyre almost bound with one another. I want to get back into it again.
as a skater the (the board kind) this looks pretty fun it also (at leased to me) seems like i might be able to progress more because im normally so worried about where my board lands so i dont come down on it and do the splits same with droping in my back foot has slipped of and the board took my front with it. think next time i go im just going to send it you inspired me with your progression seeing you improve helps me.
I used to board and now I blade. I totally understand the hardship when it comes to both disciplines. I've had my fair share of splits and popsicles. Keep trying and don't give up! It'll click eventually. I promise!
@@DatBoiAntix thank you bro its coming slowly i can kickflip pretty well now an a little bit ago i did my first 4 stair
@@DatBoiAntix man this community is so cool i've had nothing but a good time here i learn a lot to and its also generally not to crass compared to some videos that my mom makes me turn down. which is nice for me being part of the 3% thats under 18
@@thefriendlydefault9684 wait. You did a 4 stair before learning how to kickflip? That's insane! One thing that I highly suggest for both blading and boarding (and honestly every other action sport) is suck up your knees. Like when you do an Ollie, try to knee yourself in the chest (but I mean don't actually knee yourself in the chest). You'll be surprised how high your Ollie can get when you do this. I think the highest ollie I did over a bunch of boards was 7. 12 boards if you count blading. haha.
@@DatBoiAntix i can ollie pretty well but i am having trouble getting them really high i will try it. i can kickflip but not super consistent. out of curiosity, do you think stairs are harder on a skateboard or roller blades?
Blading or Inline skating is super fun.... Always was and will be.. Glad it is being rediscovered.
I love this porkour/rollerblading crossover!
Great to see some more rollerblading content! Looks like you had a sick holiday with some killer weather and street spots right there âĄđ„
Skater here, loved this video and am convinced on the potential for rolling + freerunning. You really captured the energy and camaraderie of the session too. You might really like getting a set of big wheels if you haven't already, and doing some Shaun Unwin-style flow skating to get that really comfortable feeling on skates.
4:28 I WAS THERE AT THAT COMPETITION WHEN HE DID THAT I CANT BELIEVE IT THIS IS SO CRAZY
parkour and rollerblading seems like such a natural combination
Bro this is SICK! Gonna need more of this!
Nobody can say rollerblading doesn't look sick as hell when people are whipping around through the city jumping over stuff with grabs n spins with a steezy style and some music playing. There's just a smoothness about it that makes it look artistic.. plus I grew up at the skate park in the 90s n 2000s so those were the hype
I love these videos! Keep em coming!
Loving the vlog style content, would really like to see more!
I love how airdolphin just say great just as you oofbthe 5 stairs
It is so great to see you contiuing this journey in blading! The persistence is amazing to seeđ€
Ngl but I fell like he's done with freerunning and parkour and he's now starting to expand his reach and creating new type of content, anyway I love the new content, keep up the good work
Please more of this, it is extremely fun to follow your journey and growth!
Love seeing the progression vids bro , keep em coming !
So glad to see you've kept it up mate! Also awesome that Dolphin was chilling with you. He's a cool dude for sure.
Oh do one like "Rollerbladders try Parkour". Love it. Nice content always. Argentina over here. :))))
This is so sick!! Letâs get more freerunners into skating, they bring a very cool style to it
Really love your rollerblading content! I want to see more of your improvement
So nice to see you visiting skating again! Having wheels under your feet is such a great feeling!
Freerunners bringing back flips into the rollerblading street game is dope to see đŻ
MORE OF THIS PLEASE
LOVE this, man! Found myself with a big fat smile throughout the vid!
Great stuff Jimmy!!
Jimmy, quick piece of advice, when you land try putting your stronger leg out in front and your weaker leg behind with about a 2-3 inch gap between your skates so you have a better balance when you land. Try and make your skates âin-lineâ when you land so they are like a train. Give it a try as it really helps with your equilibrium landing jumps. Iâve been skating since 1990. And I used to do âparkour rollerbladingâ way back then.
I have to say after seeing your video (a week ago)giving yourself a week to learn how to blade......now watching you attack the street.....man I am hype and can't wait for my blades to come. Never to late to relearn how to do it. âïž
Your progress is pretty damn impressive. Keep it up, my man
this is such a beautiful combination these two sports were meant to go hand in hand
Great series of content, keep it up!
Absolutely brilliant more content like this please love seeing the progress
Having rollerblade since 1995 and still doing in so hyped to see you guys discovering it like this and just doing exactly what me and my mates finding just the joy in doing tricks no matter your level and getting pure joy from it! Canât wait to see what you guys get up to next
I started doing parkour/freerunning tricks last year when I returned, before I knew parkour/freerunning existed or that anyone else was doing parkour//freerunning trick on rollerblades.
I love that you do aggressive rollerblading content, if many freerunners migrate into aggressive rollerblading you guys need to up your grind game and we old dudes need to up our flip/kong/vault game :p
Your vids always make my day! Thanks for this jimmy!
Some epic moves in this video, as well as really awesome spots for those moves!
More of this dude!!! Sick cameo from AD
I hope more Freerunners do this challenge, imagine what we could see if all the top Parkour athletes put on a pair of Rollerblades for a month
TEACH THAT MAN SOME FLIPS
You deserve SOO much more subscribers. I love your vid btw
Man, this looks so fun! I've been really considering on trying out rollerblading, might actually give it a shot after watching this!
Would you consider doing an episode on soap shoes?
I love that you made a video on that guy, then a few weeks later you are blading with him in person.
Yo homie, you gotta do more, this sick as hell!
Great video, really enjoyed it
Me and Roland have the same skates... M12 yellows! (Or the bumblebee 12's if you will)
Would be dope to see more vids documenting ur progress if ur gonna keep learning. Part of what puts people off picking up a new sport like rollerblading is how daunting it seems to git gud, but seeing sum1 new to the sport slowly learning little by little (and having fun doing it) is a good reference point for others who have been thinking about dipping their toes in.
Dude this was awesome. Please tell me there's more coming!
Jez, i rided ramps when i was smaller in 2012, man, you do realy help me remember how fun it was! Both your video of why rolleskating died, and how you learned in a week. So cool to see people still doing something with inline skates. First chance and i'l get my self a pair as i once had)
Jimmy ur gonna get the whole pk community into Rollerblading
I need more of this content
PLEASE DO THIS MORE
Amazing vid as always jimmythegiant
One day someone will make a video on the resurgence of rollerblading and Jimmy will be credited as one of the main influences.
Sick progress! So impressive man
I really hope ya keep bladin man
Loving to see you progress in rollerblading! Keep it up man!
Keep doing it mate !
I used to rollerblade and this made me really wanna get back out there. I really like your rollerblading vids and would love to see a follow up vid with dolphin showing that backflip and maybe another session with him when heâs healed up. Iâm subscribed now so Iâll check back.
Damn, I enjoyed this so much! Felt like being there - please make more videos like this :-)
These videos are so well made and I think you deserve so many more views.
LOVE YOUR VIDS
It's shear amusement how you can manage to make pretty big drops without any accommodation to blades. You basically can't fluently roll but can do jumps. Sick!
Hell yeah đ€©đ€ love it!
More of these pleases please please
I smell A legit rollerblading renaissance brewing
I start rollerblading because of Dolphin and you so this is one of my favorite videos :')
Keep it uuuup!! đ€đȘ
I love the cracking effects
This made me so happy
dolphin looked like a child running around a skate park when he was trying to show them tricks without rollerblades
This was such a fun video
Let's gooooo
the rollerblading X parkur is stronger than ever ;)
thats was sick so good :) more Rollerblading
more of this style plz :)
Lovely best Skate Videos pls keep it going! So maybe i will buy someone!
