When you showed the rockwork, I was like “that’s not going to fit in that jar”. Then you went ahead and proved me wrong. Yes, my jaw dropped. Absolutely beautiful concept that I haven’t seen yet. Macro in a jar! Love it 😍
I absolutely love this jar and the fact that you have accessibility to all these different macro algae. I will be watching how these grow for you in the jar. Many years ago I had a show refugium that housed several macro but finding those algae locally has changed. Thank you, and keep us informed as it matures.
Here is a new style I'm developing. Planted saltwater aquariums using macroalgae. As you might know I have an extensive collection of macros and i plan to use them to make some exciting new builds. If your interested in me doing more macroalgae builds or have any suggestions, let me know in the comments!
Brilliant initiative! Made me smile when I think about the lectures the hobby now gives us in keeping common goldfish in the size of lakes as a minimum ;-) It would be interesting to see what the jar looks like in a few weeks.
Lol Just seen the link in the description, £25 wow tempting me to think about a cheap salt water build, especially love the idea of macroalgea instead of corals
Looks great! Any plans for inhabitants? That looks like a nice little tank for a little critter. I've been thinking about a display macro in my tanks but I only have experience with chaeto
You are an inspiration.

Thanks I will do. Hopefully it doesn't all just die!
What air pump are using on the jar and do you do water changes on this or just let the ecosystem form naturally?
I'll be doing a new one soon in more detail
@@EverydayAquarist excellent (no)answer!
I'd love to see a seagrass build, obviously not macro but could possibly include some macros and they share a similar enviro.
It's almost impossible to get seagrass in the UK
