    I just returned from a month in London. I wore a money belt every day and once I was dressed forgot I was even wearing it. Money belts are great.

    I just got back from Europe. Something I noticed is be careful If a stranger trys to get your attention in a train station . One theif will ask for directions or even act as good citizen and help with directions or carrier a bag while accomplish picks pocket. Safe travels.

    Just had my iPhone picked from my FRONT jeans pocket in Santiago de Chile on the Metro last week. I had no clue a hand went in there and took it. Smooth operators.

    Saying "having stranger's hand slip slowly into my pocket, becomes one more interesting cultural experience" after Cologne incident, has quite a different meaning. Looking forward to see more durable equipment in you next movie.

      There's a powder you can get that once it gets on hands it stains I think blue in colour and it's very difficult to remove. Would be great to put this powder all inside this wallet and leave it for one of those pickpockets to take.

    I’ve seen this video quite a few times but never until this viewing did I realize that I have not had the experience of a pickpocket picking my empty pockets in Europe, and now I feel like I’m missing out.

      🤣 It's a fun experience, especially when there is nothing in your pockets and you get to smile at them for giving you a no-charge "deep storage" game of pocket pool.

    Both good things to have, whether you travel or not. I like the idea of a wallet with a zipper, it prevents money from coming out if you drop it, etc. The question I have is where can I buy either?

      I put my money inside a small ziplock bag fold into half, credit card inisde a RDF sleeve, then I put it inside my neck money pouch. Two years ago, I bought a "wrist warmer" pouch from Amazon, it has a hidden zipper to hide my cash & credit card, and it's washable. I'm thinking about buying a larger size to wear it on my ankle during my long distance travel

    Americans give themselves away also by talking so loud when in Europe or for wearing white trainers or flipflops in cities. Europeans normally wear darker colours and shoes.

    I wore a money belt in Rome. I'm half hispanic and half white, so people often think I'm Italian. When I entered a store, the sales staff would pass me and go to the white tourists. Another benefit I got was in the Vatican. Because security thought I was a local, I was allowed to get close to the pope.

    Thieves target anyone. Not specifically Americans. And Americans are not the only people with "good stuff". I know this video is for Americans, but I'd expect better than ridiculous generalisations from somebody so well travelled.

      +QWERTYOP80 When i travel I normally carry at least $500.00. when im at home I rarely carry more then 20.00. What he was getting at is tourist have large sums of money, camera, computer, gps ect.

    • @PandaBaby51
      @PandaBaby51 Před 7 lety +2

      QWERTYOP80 yea but Americans are seen as the wealthiest. Everytime I introduce myself as an American in SEA everyone's eyebrows would raise and they'd visibly get excited and or smirk. I introduced my self from Hk after that.

    I hate the way most Americans talk about Europe as if it is one place. Europe is 44 entirely different countries. There is no way to experience “Europe”. That’s like going to Ohio and thinking that’s the whole of the US.

    • @savedfaves
      @savedfaves Před 10 měsíci +1

      Rick is more well traveled than you or anyone else watching this video and has several companies to that end. He's well aware Europe is a continent. In fact, Rick specialises in European historical knowledge. Many countries in Europe have pickpockets and for the purposes of this video him saying "as you travel through Europe" was sensible.

  • @andrewmillwardwatford9410
