Hi Alexandria, I would like to thank you so much for posting this video, and the other one about its construction. Your explanation is very clear and as soon as I can find one of these devices I'm going to build my own one following your instructions. Thank you again, and many cheers from Chile !.
The static grass applicator is a great idea! Another way to apply the short lengths, for those unable to get an electric fly swatter, is to wrap magnetic strip tapes around the mouth of the container your grass is in. The effect is not as striking as this, but works well with short grass.
Alexandra, love all your video's, thank you soo much for all your advice, going into mini's blindly can be super expensive very quickly. -for our american friends, if you have a harbor freight tools store close by they do sell the "fly swatters" there for just around $10. just dont let your kids play with it the little sucker hurts like hell. and a great way to torment your drunk room mates!
I've noticed that with time my static grass collapses back into how you would make this without the static grass applicator, how can I solve this problem?
i have looked all over for those cork sheets, and i can find them, ive been to every hobby store, dollar store, and hardware store in my area and cant find one. anyone know where i can for sure find them?
Mattmattduck, look for cork coasters instead, the things you use to stop rings ending up on coffee tables. Anywhere that sells kitchen or dining wear will have something along those lines
If you live in the US and have access to harbor freight, you can buy the bugzapper for under $5 bucks. What a deal, much cheaper than the advertised $200 on Terrain Website. Link shows how to make one..Directions on how to make one can be found by google-ing "Grassinator"
hey girlpainting my name is tobias and im from denmark i have started to see your videos and i love them i have a wish can you paint som beastmen ps i love to paint minatures.

Great video for the community. I haven't seen this device covered before, yet alone building your very own. Thanks!
More great content. Thanks Alexandria! Love your channel

Great video. I always wanted to use static grass, but it looked like a lot of work. Now I see it is not so bad.
I am so excited to make the applicator and try this out! Thanks Alexandra! :)
That's clever ... I always wondered what the big deal was with static grass apps!
Thanks for showing me that Alexandra.
Excellent demo Alexandra.
Wow! That's pretty cool, thanks for the demonstration!
great demo and fantastic result
Great results, thanks so much for doing this.
Tolles Video, Du erklärst das wirklich sehr schön.
Very informative. Thanks.
So nice!!! I'll will surely do one of these.
Thanks, I'll take in count what you suggest. Thanks again and cheers to you. John.
This is really neat!
Fantastic cheers for sharing
bravo! great idea! love this!
Thanks that was helpful.
If you used a metal base, clip the wire to it, would you get the same effect of the static grass as you would on a cork base?
@drumwolf22 But it doesn't pass through the wood either, it passes through the glue. That's why you make sure the glue is on the needle too.
Thank u for the info
Alexandra's always looking out for us!
"Dangerous" lol Thanks for the video. Just what I needed to know. =)
great idea...very nice.
If I wanted to put grass on a painted pewter model could I just clamp it to the model?

very nicely done got my vote for the orcscars !
I love it , I hate getting ripped off by big companies
@Cridant1 Because a charge couldn't be passed through the plastic?

This is awesome :)
Damn, you're so clever :D great vid!
You should patent this idea and sell it. Awesome idea and work!!
what can I say ... FANTASTIC
Awesome vid
Hi, ¿how I can use the applicator to the GW-type bases?. Thanks!!
Thanks Alexandra :D
what about if there is a mini limiting how low to the base you can hold the applicator? and how would you insert the needle on a plastic base?
On a plastic base you could use the "plier" end of the applicator by pinching it into the puddle of PVA glue.
What grasses do you use in the battlefield mix?
Thanks for that.
Awesome.
Q fibra usa
Is vinyl glue ok for this operation or is it necessary to buy a special glue?
+Mario MariaMario standard white/wood glue is just fine. i don´t know what "venyl" glue is
+GirlPainting thank you so much! And good job by the way
"colla vinilica" in inglese si traduce con "PVA glue" o "white glue" che è quella usata in questo video :)

That's cool

I guess this type of applicator will not work on plastic or resin bases right?
EpIc

German engineering at it's very best! :)
woah
Great video. Fuck the haters.
and if you see a fly near you you can always hit it with your static grass applicator and zap it ;)
funky thingie but I get the exact same results by just blowing on my grass from a couple different angles.
Superglue, tweezers, and a little breath from ones own mouth can create a similar effect, without potentially shocking the crap out of yourself.
This is no static grass applicator... this is a taser!!
Para el pasto
alligator instead of crocodile... just to help our non native American English speakers.
r u a boy or girl and how old r u?

Ha ha fly ELIMIMINATOR
Only Germans say "we'll see us" for "wir sehen uns".
Better: "We'll see each other next time."
i think that is a guy
ELIMINATOR#
It's a woman, just you don't know because of her homeland and that paint and other fumes can effect ones voice, you should have know this!
How ugly those fingernails are ... Sorry.
