Cuts down your interaction, and no kid using the specific kids app it markets for wants a 30k piano 😅😊 Now … that being said… that Steinway video from 2 weeks ago. ‘I want one!’ 😂 but my wife would kill me. I’ve tried already. Found a near mint Bös 6’ for 14k CAD. But seriously. You have such a range. My son is .. not as interested as I’d hoped… but you have one that is super special. I thought you were ging right past it 😅.. ‘The’ Steinway. My parents bought mine in the early 90’s, used for 5K. 3:01 like that one. However, it was the short board! We paid to have the most epic tunes put on it. Custom feel, weight, tension, sound, ratio, etc. ‘custom AF’ for someone really into competitions, but lack the funds and space of a full grand. That ‘Steinway’ at the end was about what I was trying to mimic action wise. Unfortunately even competitions were cheap and favoured a more practical and still good Yamaha. I only got to play a S&S once, out of hundreds of grands played. Full Size Concert, Dualing piano’s set up in a class room, during a masterclass at a provincial championship. The speaker let me play until i was done, turn out the lights when i leave. Now to say, no one wants those S&S’s or the S at the end is an understatement. Just the people who would really actually appreciate them can’t afford them and they end up in homes on display akin to the Ferrari in Ferris Bullers Day Off. It’s a sad place to be. Now the wealthy people even hide to never use instruments like a Faz Herbie. I’ve played one, in a shop as discussing it with the sales guy that’s it’s going to some corner to gather dust. No one stopped to think, could the young Herbie have afforded such a piano to better himself before fame? No. So ya. Your ‘no one wants’ video is like ‘this puppy did not get any adoption requests’ like i don’t have 4 dogs already doing my part. So ya, I want one. Hell, after having a kid and rescuing dogs, a rabbit, and a severe injury to my hands 15 years ago, I can’t even get a budget tune, let alone the Ferrari that belonged to Ferrari, ‘The’ Steinway. 😢 Guilt tripping pianists at 30k plus is just evil, bud.
These days most decent grand pianos cost $30k or more. But the smart people make payments just like on cars; only the piano lasts your whole life. But you are right about one thing, its really a sad reality that most piano players who can really play professionally can't afford a nice grand unless they make their money some other way or are rich people who just treat it like a trophy to showcase their house.
