I’d hardly call it unique. The Swiss Shmidt Rubin of 1889 held 12 rounds and had a straight pull action. It wasn’t a Mauser pattern rifle, but that doesn’t make it particularly special.
The Lee Enfield is chambered in .303 british which gets an average muzzle velocity of 2,440 fps (774 mps). An M1 Garand as a comparison shoots a .30 06 Springfield which achieves an average of around 2,805 fps (855 mps). An Ak 74 chambered in 5.45x39 will achieve around 2,900 fps (880 mps).

And as a Friend Said just Yesterday. IT's Great personal Therapy Time for an Avid or Active Shooter. IT'S just a thought but with a Rifle such as the Lee Enfield shown? Your Brass can be literally used Continuously Until forever. Anyhow Good Luck & look at the Long term result's. Thanks 👍😊.

I have always loved the “Plink” of the steel targets. It’s satisfying due to you hitting them clearly, but it’s also the sound for me. It’s not obnoxious.

It's really one of the more sedate rounds from the world wars. The 8mm, 30-06 & 7.62X54R pack a lot more punch.

Fun fact: the Lee-Enfield was unique to other bolt action rifles of WWll because of its enormous 10 round carrying capacity

I've had several of these. Have one right now made in 1916. Used in ww2 as well by a Australian soldier. Still shoots true and accurate everytime
