      @@y.d.firstblood4681 Yes, you can tie it to a bracket, but I have a strap with these snap/buckle type things and it just snaps onto the brackets.

    I just sold my, looked like home made banjo that sounded like a Gibson banjo. About 2 years ago for like $500.00. Dumbest mistake I ever made. So now I want to replace it. This one sounds ok and I may buy it, but the sound won't be as good I'm sure. Can changing the drum head give it a differant sound?

    Good job thanks,was looking at recording king dirty 30s as a first banjo but now don know,I like the look of the ibanez if bit more expensive....

      Plus this banjo has a tone ring, recording king dirty 30s does not.

    I am looking for a good beginners Banjo. Thanks for the review of the B200!. After playing it for a couple years would you still recommend it?

    • @perksenmusic3525
      @perksenmusic3525  Před 5 lety

      I guess it would depend on the amount of money you want to spend and how much you want to work on the banjo. If you didn't have a banjo yet, I'd say get either the Recording King 35 or 36. The Ibanez isn't bad persay, but I've only seen B-stock banjos for sale of this model. If you want a banjo that you can really work on and not worry about messing it up, I'd recommend the Ibanez. Otherwise if you're just starting, I'd say get a Recording King.

    The ibanez has a crisper sound to me. I had a 1961 rb 250 mastertone and i think the ibanez sounds better than it too.

    How many numbers do you use to tighten the banjo head with the drum dial?

    • @perksenmusic3525
      @perksenmusic3525  Před 2 lety

      I usually like around 92-96, but a setting if 90 is usually about right for most uses.

    Where did you purchase the bridge?

    • @perksenmusic3525
      @perksenmusic3525  Před 7 lety +2

      I purchased it from Don New in Missouri. The easiest way to buy one is to go to the classifieds on Banjo Hangout and type in the search bar "Big Foot Bridge." His username on the Hangout is StringBean45. Hope that helps. :)

    • @sigzero123
      @sigzero123 Před 7 lety

      Thanks, that helps! Are you still playing this banjo? I am looking at this one or the B300. Also, if you don't mind, do you use railroad spikes for the 5th string?

    • @perksenmusic3525
      @perksenmusic3525  Před 7 lety +1

      I do play it fairly often, although it is more of my 'mess-around banjo'. Alternate tunings, different setups, ect. I don't use railroad spikes as I find unless they are installed properly they require a lot of retuning. Personally I like the Shubb 5th string capo which I do have on it now. Those are quick and easy to use and install on your own.

    Hallo i'have the same banjo . What kind of strap are you using? I'm from rome and i dont know ifa 2-2,5 inhes strap (planet waves leather banjo strap) will fit this banjo.

    • @perksenmusic3525
      @perksenmusic3525  Před 7 lety

      It should fit. The main thing with a strap is what kind it is. I like the cradle style of straps instead of the ones that just clip on the brackets. I got this strap from Amazon. Here is the link to the one I have for this banjo: smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B7KHMQM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    • @perksenmusic3525
      @perksenmusic3525  Před 7 lety

      The width that they give for the strap ( the 2 to 2.5 inches) is for the part of the strap that goes over your shoulder. Usually the wider it is the more comfortable it is. However, the wider it is the more difficult it can be to put it in your case. :)

    • @edoardocelsius1227
      @edoardocelsius1227 Před 7 lety

      Thank you very much for the answer.
      Yes i made a mistake for the dimensions of the strap but the most of the straps sold in intenet show the dimension of this part of the strap that goes over the shoulder. Because of this i would ask you wich length of your strap is, i have seen the link but it doesn't say it and since i am 1.90 cm tall i would like a strap that can be adjusted to my body.
      Only the levy's straps show the length, for example www.levysleathers.com/shop/banjo-strap-pm13-dbr/ isa djustable to 60'. Can this be good for this banjo and for me?

    • @edoardocelsius1227
      @edoardocelsius1227 Před 7 lety

    How is the weight of the Ibanez vs the Recording King 36?

    • @perksenmusic3525
      @perksenmusic3525  Před 6 lety

      The Ibanez is a bit lighter due to the tube and plate flange while the R-36 has a heavier one piece flange.

    • @pauljcote
      @pauljcote Před 6 lety

      I have a Recording King 35 and find it heavy. It weighs 12 lbs. I was curious how much lighter the Ibanez is because the 12 pounds makes the Recording King sort of unpleasant although it does sound nice.

    • @perksenmusic3525
      @perksenmusic3525  Před 6 lety +1

      I'll have to weigh it and find out. You've made me a bit curious as well. 😀

    • @pauljcote
      @pauljcote Před 6 lety

      I got on my scale holding the rk-35 and I weighed twelve pounds more with it than without it. I can probably use it for weight lifting exercises.

    • @perksenmusic3525
      @perksenmusic3525  Před 6 lety

      I know my R-36 weighs 12 pounds because it and my old case weighed a total of 25 pounds, which was too heavy. :P
