I like to think its a reverse aspect of the song minute of decay.
When i went through the period of this song its that i identified with the grief of the world instead of hating it. Knowing that no matter where i went my death was there and that if i wanted to get better I had to have courage and accept friendship as protection against the poison.

This song is so quintessentially this album, that extra time was definitely needed. Without that extra time we wouldn’t have gotten this magnificent song or Saturnalia. Wild to think there’s an alternate timeline where this album released without those songs.

And if you don't own yourself you'll never attract what you want. If you feel you don't have the relationship with me you want then that's a reflection of an unhealthy relationship with yourself, with me as the delusion of "escape" from your own singularity. It's ok to focus on someone you love. But if you can't see yourself then you cant understand me either. Don't use my love as an excuse to not get well, or as a fake "rejection" muse because I cheer and hope you'll get well privately, so if you gave up on yourself that would be to n you.
It's not me you're unhappy with, I can tell you love me. It's your life you're unhappy with, and the responsibility that comes with accepting that and getting well.

I was fucking APPALLED at all the fucking TRASH people were saying about him that they wish he'd of died and too bad that's all that happened to him ...
