The level of detail in this review (such as how the pens sound hitting the screen) is just exquisite!
I used to tell people about that and they said, oh come on, you're just nit picking. Now I see reviewers talking about the same thing. I had a Galaxy Note Pro 12 and then I bought an iPad Pro. Taking notes, the clickity click on the screen was annoying. I tested it on my Note Pro 12 and it is very quiet so I never noticed it. For me it was a big deal when taking notes. Not so much when drawing.
Just one step more needed and that is Google to acknowledge tablets.
I was really torn between this and a 12.9" iPad Pro. I have made my decision: I'm going with this Samsung 7+. It's a no brainer now. The ONLY reason I was looking at the iPad was for the Procreate app. Now that Clip Studio Paint and Concepts are going to be available for the Samsung AND the more familiar GUI with the addition of DEX, it's a slam dunk!
I am so much confused between s7 tablet and iPad pro 11, as I need 11inch display. But your explanation has helped a lot. Thanks, I will buy s7 tablet now
@@DeepDeep-go6qu if you are using the tab and s-pen and drawing tool, do note that the smaller Tab S7 S-pen is not the same. Only the tab S7 plus s-pen has the new 9ms latency same as Note 20 ultra.
@@EinzMY that's really sad. Why is it so. I need a portable device, 11 inch is sufficient for me. What to do then? Should I buy iPad pro then? But I have android phone, I had iPhone too, but I use android phone. What to do? Does android phone and iPad pro combination work? Please reply, sir.
@@DeepDeep-go6qu Both the tab s7 and the s7+ have the same pen latency.
@@screablue thanks for replying and giving this information. It's so hard to choose for me. Earlier I made up my mind for iPad pro and then I came to know that Samsung s7 tablet has computer like features and I decided to buy Samsung s7 tablet, and now this s-pen problem told by Eins completely confused me again. But now,Thanks for your help.
The most detailed Samsung Tab S7+ review I have ever watched. Very good. Thank you very much
Apple has been too arrogant to fix its files system for the last time. Now that Samsung teamed up with Clip Studio, illustrators are no longer shackled to iOS for their non-Wacom all-in-one needs.
@@ArthurProMax5G you cant say either one is 'better' because both have tools that the other dont have.
I personally prefer Clip Studio because I came from Photoshop and the desktop layout is more familiar to me. All the tools I want and need are right there in the icons instead of hidden away in gestures, and when I dont want icon clutter, I can just hide them all.
@@geneoakley I chose my words wrongly, sorry.
@@ArthurProMax5G thats okay, everyone has preferences.
@@ArthurProMax5G It depends. If you're Illustrator, i guess procreate is better, but if you're a comic artist, especially if you adopt a more japanese style, CSP has more features for it.
Is clip free?
Pen only needs to charge for gestures not for writing/drawing.
I think this is why it doesn't need to be on top or on the sides of the tablet for charge. You can draw and use the pen without charge for as long as you want. It can easily recharge in the time you don't use the tablet and have a new charge for smart gestures when you're using it again. I bought the book cover for it and they have an open space for the pen area and camera on the back. So it can easily charge while using it as well. I think its only kinda awkward in laptop mode. Pulling the flap back to retrieve it. But that might be preference. A snug, safe spot for your pen isn't a bad option either.
@@mbovb006 i agree
@@mbovb006 does pressure sensitivity work as well?
@@rocker10039 the pen pressure still works without power much like a Wacom pen.
The battery on the pen is just for the wireless gestures.
@@mbovb006 did you know you can put it on the top just like on the iPad (just a bit more to the right with back close to the edge)? It doesn't charge but it holds very well.
I ordered one. I was searching for this kind of review in English. Finally satisfied.
An AMAZING, unbiased, authentic review that goes super in depth. This is exactly what I needed, thank you!!! I'll be watching more of your videos to help me make my decision :)
This is the review that sold me. SO thorough, very straightforward and clear, actually demonstrates the functionality, and answers nearly every question an artist may have about using this specific device as a creative workhorse. As well as comparing it to the S6, S7, and iPad Pro. Paying roughly $200 more for the S7 Plus vs S7 pains me, and I'll probably still go in-store to hold both and get a real feel for it, but this review really helped not only picture but SEE the practicality of working on the Plus. Thank you!!
did you bought it?
@@p3gasus233 I did! Waited until Black Friday and got the S7+.
@@AppreciativeViewer how do you like it im thinking of getting it myself. My son will be getting the s7 so I'll try it out and if I like it. I'll sell his iPad and get myself the plus for myself.
@@ever6 how's the s7? I'm planning on getting either the s7 or an ipad
@@FondestCoast its pretty good I'm still testing it out. But I want to try it in photoshop and of course when he's not playing around on it. I'll have a much better after a week or 2.
Plus surface pro 8 is coming out this month so I'll be comparing iPad, potentially new pro and still tge Samsung. The s7 on is AWESOME man and dex. Theres so much to do on it I like it so far.
I want to try the dex some more and see if I can do remote to my desktop. Ohhh I forgot I put game pass on his my son tablet. I'm going to try that as well.
Teoh, you can 100% attach the pen to the top right side and also to the bottom left side in landscape mode, although the magnet isn't as strong as the one on the back. (tested on my S7)
it also won't charge there. but yes, it definitely attaches there as well.
@@azyrael96 true I missed that!
@@azyrael96 It doesn't need to be charged if you aren't going to use bluetooth features
please i need your help, does the tablet have a sim card port? if yes do I have to sacrifice the micro sd card to put the sim card or we can put both ? Thanks in advance 😄

finally an artistic review of this tablet! thank you very much for bringing this video, almost all reviews of this tablet only talk about specifications or performance but rarely about art
Why would anyone thumbs-down this? Love your reviews man, great detail and relaxing to watch 👌🏻
Those are the ipad fanboys who knows this smocks the ipad pro and its cheaper
Wow finally an artist review, and with clip studio paint! Great review as usual, Teoh. iPad's performance on art stuff has been unreachable for a while now. All of my friends who works as illustrator and comic artist, and even hobbyist (like me) uses iPad and its pencil. The ones who has Samsung Tab are those who work outside art community (not including me, since the iPad, haha). With this release, can't wait to see what'll happen on the tablet world among artists.
Be a Rebel! Go a different direction than the masses. Pave the way!
I don't really agree with your absoluteconclusion that all professional artists use iPads, that's just a misconception. I can say something different since many of my colleagues also use the Tab S6 as part of their workflow in Illustration and Industrial Design. I acknowledge it's more common to see professionals using iPads, but keep in mind that not everyone likes Apple and their anti-consumer practices. Some of us prefer the versatility of an operative system like Android that can be easily incorporated inside a multi-device set up without having to invest ridiculous ammounts of money on a single ecosystem. That's why the Tab S6 has been such a champ, because you can synch it to any Win 10 workstation to be able to go back and forth between projects. Now the Tab S7 and s7+ are only coming to improve on this and honestly speaking; I'm just so happy that these days, our creative community has the option to choose whatever tech fits and adapts best to their creative endeavors and workflow.
@@davsdf1 You are spot on! There are just as many artists who do NOT use an ipad for ANYTHING, especially professional work. In fact many pros use large Wacom Cintiqs that are connected to heavy duty desktop PCs. Sometimes they are connected to Macs as well. Today we have choices. I think ipads are fine for some but certainly not my cup of tea. They dont work for me at all.
Wrong, a lot of pro artists in US and a lot of pro mangaka in Japan use wacom cintiq (pen display tablet) instead of ipad
I think it is not about a tool but about a talent and skills. Even if you will buy the best iPad ever you will not become the best artist in the world
Great tablet for basically everything. czcams.com/users/postUgkxLNmVocUk8tnSkwWIlYSNFzWRIaFTBuzS I bought it specifically for art, and that 4k screen is really fantastic for it! Also has LOUD audio, even tho the speakers aren't in necessarily prime locations it really projects! You do need to get a case for this bad boy IMMEDIATLY though as it doesn't come with one.Battery life is really good! Standby time us FANTASTIC. This guy can go about a week on standby and be just fine. The screen is massive so the longer you have the screen on, brightness especially, it will effect battery life. I am very happy with it though! One thing that I didn't consider is that since the screen resolution is so high, viewing ticktocks/ reading webtoons can be slightly blurry. There is no way to turn down resolution either, so it just be like that.Would still judge this bad boi at 10/10 for my first tablet. I've had it 3 months now and its not shown any evidence of "slowing down" or anything. Love it!
Finally! I've been waiting for your review! Great artist perspective, as always.
Thanks for doing this review!! As usual it was really insightful and detailed and I liked how you elaborated on all the different drawing applications that can be used on android as well as on microsoft. Will definitely be trying them out, thank you! 😄
I have watched so many videos on the tab s7 plus. For the first time I feel well informed on the performance and capabilities it has to offer. Thank you so much for these videos. A+
The painting at 17:49 is soooo good, love the colours of it! Great review as always Teoh :)
You can actually attach the pen to the top of the tablet, similar to the Ipad ! Doing so doesn't charge the pencil but its definitely alot more convenient as compared to reaching to the back of the tablet. Love your videos!!
You should add a Slow-Motion part of the "Pen latency drawing" part! That would be great for comparisons to former models.
Thanks a lot Teoh, was waiting for artists to review the s7 plus and last checked yesterday again if there is some new review for this tablet exclusively for drawing and your video popped up.
Brad colbow does artists review too
This is exactly what I wanted to see. It included all the details I am looking at in comparing the other top tablets when looking for a digital art tablet for standalone.
Digital Artists, what do you use on a regular basis? What’s your favorite apps?
I love you so much. You are so great on explaining everything! And I love your art style very much
Thank you for doing such an indepth review for artists! You answer every question I have for tablets and what they should be able to do :)
This is an incredibly detailed and helpful video. Thank you.
Thank you for covering excellent info that I don't have to go around looking for extra info for! Nice job in also including a list of art programs, and how good they are (or not). Excellent as usual!:) I also prefere the case that has the pen to the side of the tab without a back 'bump'. Yeah!
Been waiting for your review. Appreciate it!
I was waiting so long for this!!! Thanks Teoh!
Thank you so much for this review! took me long to find an artist show the drawing samples and im very very close to buying this since i cant afford ipad as the ipencil is a different expense :,) thank you so much!
Hey, just wanted to correct that the smaller Tab S7 does have the 9 ms latency with the 120 Hz display like the Tab S7+. But overall thanks for the awesome review, hope for more contents like this.
I can't confirm but many people say yes
So, the smaller tab screen is the same? No difference?
@@rsin207 the tab s7 has an IPS LCD screen and the tab s7+ has a Super AMOLED screen. Both have HDR10+ and 120hz refresh rate though. One other difference is that the tab s7+ screen has the fingerprint scanner built in whereas the tab s7 has the fingerprint scanner on the side of the device.
Always waiting for your reviews! Excited for more :)
Thank you so much for this review. Incredibly detailed and wonderful to see the process of creation. So glad I found it.
I'm personally not an artist but I do plan to use the s7+ for lots of notetaking and light drawings, and I might lend it to my artist sibling just for their enjoyment. Thank you for your insightful video!
Can't wait for you to compare how to draw on this s7 + tab with iPad Pro using infinite design, CSP, and the same application in both. Thank you
Oh cool, I can't wait to see a comparison video. This was super helpful
This is a great review, thank you. Very effective, covered everything I could possibly want to know.
Excellent review. Finally someone who knows what they are talking about. I was torn between iPad Pro or Air 4 or this one S7 plus, having owned a Galaxy Tab S3 since release and never had any issue, just lagging a bit now, but I can still draw well on Sketchbook. As you have properly shown in details all of the info, unlike some Apple-biased superficial reviewers out there, I made up my mind now thanks to your video.
I'm in the same boat what did u end up picking up?
For temporary SPen storage, you can stick the SPen to the bottom left/right edges of the tablet. It has the magnetic capabilities meant for the keyboard there.
Was waiting for this review, thanks man
I have to say, you are really good at explaining and showing things. I feel like I'm right there in the room with you looking at these tablets. This was very well done, thank you so much.
Can't wait for the iPad comparison!

@@goochipoochie but all together, theres 600 price dif. Im just wondering it is enough for non professional drawing with some note taking, or ipad2020 is worth to pay 600 more.
Thank you... for yet another fantastically detailed professional Artists review for a tablet. Well done good sir.. 👌
Thank you for an excellent well detailed video! Also, I love your artwork! Thanks again!!! :)
Great review. Actually covers things we need to know about the tactile experience. Thanks

Always enjoyed your thorough reviews
I don't know someone already said it, but you can actually attach the pen on the top of the tablet, there are magnets there.
It just doesn't charge, but if you need to quickly put the pen somewhere, you can do that.
This was an excellent review. The first review where it said that you could run 1440p video.
Upcoming iOS 14 will be able to play 1440P also
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing and I loved your DeX setup.
I was waiting for this!!!
It's been a long time since I've been using my tab for making notes. This tablet has been proven very helpful for me.
The funny part is when I was writing on my register with pen, I was trying to scroll the page to write more lines. 😅
Thanks for the video! So detailed and very in-depth! Nice to have an artist review because it definitely helps other artist! I moved from wacom to Ipad and I'm excited for the wacom feel stylus in the S Pen, not to mention the hover detection!
The hover is good. Palm rejection is quite good. Many apps have strict palm rejection where they ONLY recognise pen input for drawing.
Oh fascinating. I just think I'm tired of the apple pencil. It was such a huge and expensive jump to an ipad and after 2 years I'm still not use to the pen. On top of that, the feel of drawing on glass. Very triggering. I feel the wacon experience cannot be beat, but damn I need mobility. Thanks for informing me.
Brad colbow does artist specific reviews too, though I think this is more in depth
I'm so excited!!! I just pre-ordered mine!
Thank you so much for taking my advice ♡
You can attach the pen to the top right (just like the iPad but the back end is close to the right edge). It will not charge but the capacitor can keep it for a very long time and it holds there very nicely.
I have the samsung galaxy tab s7 plus and its good!! The draw app taks a bit of time to understand but its nice app! Noteshelf for school is great. The tablet Makes school a lot more fun and easy. Xx
I was waiting for this video! I'm glad you made it really in depth, especially from an artists point of view and the timing for the video is great since pre orders are about to go up in the US. I can't wait for the ipad pro 12.9 inch comparison video. You got a couple things wrong in the video and I know you are now aware but want to make it clear to viewers that might have missed other people's comments, you can in fact attach the S pen to the side of the tablet magnetically and the regular S7 does support the same 9ms latency of the pen. In fact you can even use the new s pen on the S6 from what I saw, though missing air gestures most likely.
I was waiting for this review from you 👍😊
Im not an artist nor have the interest on art, Although, for some reason I really enjoyed this video, specially the commentary. Very remarkable work👍
Thank you. I kept waiting for your review
Thank you for your very detailed review. I've been looking at buying a tablet and your video certainly provides the most detailed information of any I've encountered.
Been waiting for this
Really enjoy your review. A thorough, well-structure review. So, would you choose S7 with the Clip Studio OR go with iPad pro and Procreate?

Excellent video review! Thank you for all the information and suggestions.
Warning for anyone wanting to get a matte screen protector: They are MURDER for S Pen tips. Expect to constantly buy new sets of nibs.
There's no need for matte screen protectors when using the S Pen which already has a tip that provides some friction.
Yes dude. I replaced around 3 black nibs and now I just got a white and the plastic literally vanished after a painting 🤣
@@teohyc if so, what kind of screen protector are you using instead?
@@melissaevangelista3826 Glass screen protector. You can just get any brand.
But do one need a screen protector?
This was a super video, thank you. I have been thinking about a tablet for a year or so, always disappointed by price-vs-performance (thinking especially about display size; battery life and available apps). I had been thinking of a Remarkable 2 or a Lenovo Tab M10 Plus, but I always wanted the AMOLED display - and that's why the Tab S7 was a non-contender. Now that I've seen first-hand what the Tab S7+ can do, I've just bought it. Thanks for showing us how good the illustration can be with the available apps! I have a question that perhaps you or the community can answer: I want to use the tablet to maintain a D&D character sheet but not by using a specific D&D app; I just want a PDF template that I can write and draw on, using the s-pen. Is this doable? I'd want to do that offline, too, so none of this Adobe Cloud stuff. Ideas?
Thank you so much. Your reviews are always so useful

@@ToddDolce I agree, the S7+ is the best bang for the buck, comparing just the hardware. Although the iPad Pro's CPU is a lot faster than the Snapdragon, the Amoled display, more RAM and included S Pen on the Samsung is pretty awesome indeed. It's mainly Apple's superior apps ecosystem that makes the choice so difficult for me.

@@HorseyShark I suspect he's just commenting on the audio editing; a lot of microphones make "s" sounds a lot stronger than normal (sibilance), which can be softened back out through a process call de-essing (not that I know how to do this personally, but such methods do exist).

Outstanding review! Very clear, thorough, and paid attention to the important factors that are relevant to me as someone who is using this as a tool. This helped me make my choice. Thank you.
The latency is same in Tab S7 also the only diffrence is screen size and Amoled Display and Battery size also rest all features same
There appears to be slight differences in CPU performance. The S7+ has slightly more pixels, and thus should have slightly worse performance on certain benchmark tests (because the CPU has to keep track of more pixels), but it has slightly better performance on those benchmarks.
Pls show below tests;
1) MS office word & excel - creating the fresh file, entering some data, and saving it.
2) Downloading an excel file from the email, editing, and saving it.
3) Converting word and excel to pdf
4) Word, Excel & ppt supported formats - like ex: MS Office 2003, 2007, or 2010 what it supports, and while saving do we have the option to select any of the above options.
5) PDF editing and saving (pdf created in normal adobe in a pc/laptop)
I can't see why anyone would do that on a tablet. Laptop, pc, mac only for that
Sergio See when u have a high end tablet and when u are on travel or a day/two day business travel when you have this, just u can carry this. If ur point is that then why would someone buy at tablet at 1000$ rather at 500 to 700$ u get a laptop itself. So some features when u pay premium, these are expected and they also promote DEX mode right a biz traveler need it.
@@kirann2879 because tablets have shifty processors and for the price of a premium tablet you can get equally small laptop that gets a lot more done.
