In 2016 I went through a lot while living in Nairobi, I was kicked out of the house I rented. I had debts left right and center, my car was repossessed by the bank. I sank into depression and I used to listen to this song every day because it was hard to pray. In 2017 June God open doors for me and relocated to US. Went to school and now working for one of the top companies in the world. All debts paid of and blessed with a beautiful family. Thank you God for rescuing me and I pray for those going through a hard time.

This song takes me back to a difficult time in 2020 when I was still in college, around my third year. The COVID-19 pandemic had hit, making things incredibly challenging both at home and at school. Affording three meals a day was a struggle, but somehow I managed to survive. During that time, my brother was falsely accused of a crime and the court demanded a bail bond of 400k, which was impossible for us to raise. With my mom earning a salary of only around 20k, it seemed like my brother would be in custody for a long time.
We had the option of using my uncle's title deed to bail him out, but the verification process would cost us 10k and take about a month. Unfortunately, since it wasn't our own title deed, we had to let go of that option. One day, my mom called me, and her voice sounded defeated. She wanted my brother to continue with the case while still in remand, but I knew that wasn't a viable option. I did some research and found out that such cases usually took around two years for a final judgment. At that point, I realized that my only option was to turn to God. Every night, I would pray earnestly, pouring out my heart and seeking His help. I had faith that He would never let me down.
As time went by, we felt more and more hopeless. Two months later, during a court mention, the lawyer informed the judge that our family couldn't raise the required amount for bail. I was present during that heartbreaking moment. The magistrate showed some sympathy and asked how much we could afford. It was painful, but the lawyer had to admit that we could only gather about 20k. Unfortunately, this request was denied, and we were asked to come back in a week's time. Around that time, my brother was transferred from Kabete police station to a prison in South B.
On that particular day, I had some food supplies that I wanted to deliver to my brother. I remember walking all the way from Kibra courts to South B, a distance of approximately 10 kilometers. I was hungry, unsure of the directions, but I pushed through. I finally reached the prison, gave my brother the food, and then walked back to town, which was about 5 kilometers away. Tears streamed down my face as I cried, questioning why such hardships had befallen our family. Life seemed merciless and unkind.
A week later, we returned to court. On my way there, the bus I was on started playing the song "Kimbilio Langu" again, and it made me cry once more. I prayed and held onto my belief that God would intervene that day. When we arrived, we were informed that my brother had been diagnosed with COVID-19 and couldn't attend the court session. Despite this, the judge decided to proceed. The lawyer pleaded with the judge, and miraculously, the bail amount was reduced from 400k to 40k. It felt like an incredible miracle. We managed to gather the funds by taking a few loans, and my brother was finally set free.
Since then, the case has been progressing well, and we have faith that things will turn out in our favor. Over the years, our family has been blessed. We moved out of the slums and now live in a decent house. I also graduated from college and currently have a well-paying job. God truly was my refuge and source of strength throughout that challenging time. He is my Kimbilio
