The longest video I’ve ever done, and hopefully worth the decade wait. I said at 1 million subs I would do a Caddicarus Spyro review since 2012, and now the time has come - but over the years it has gone from a Spyro Trilogy retrospective to a single video about all the classic Spyro games to a Spyro Reignited comparison to Spyro PS1 talking about all the differences, but with my current Caddy style, I had to make this one bigger and better, especially for a million subscriber special, so here we are with a complete history of Spyro as we look at every single Spyro game from the original Spyro PS1 gameplay to Spyro Enter the Dragonfly PS2 gameplay to ALL of the Spyro GBA gameplay from Season of Ice to Spyro Orange walkthrough, to Spyro A Hero’s Tail review and Spyro Shadow Legacy review with the Spyro Nintendo DS game, to the entire Legend of Spyro Trilogy from A New Beginning up until Dawn of the Dragon review on the Xbox 360 and even up until Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure review without Skylanders Crash Bandicoot gameplay this time - we’re going back to the original and seeing how it holds up. No PS4 Spyro Reignited Trilogy review here with Spyro Reignited Trilogy gameplay and sadly no Enter the Dragonfly Remastered stuff which I’ve heard a lot about - this is mainly a look at Spyro gameplay, Spyro 2 review with Spyro 2 gameplay, Spyro 3 review with Spyro 3 gameplay all via my original PlayStation copies, alongside the Gameboy Advance Spyro GBA games and the rest. I did used to play Reignited Trilogy PS4 Pro but nowadays I use the Steam and Reignited Trilogy PC gameplay version - did you guys know it runs better on the Steam Deck than on the PS4? Yeah, Spyro Reignited Trilogy Steam Deck. What an age we live in.

Im glad someone else appreciates Hero's Tail. It wasn't as good as the original trilogy but that was its only crime and every reviewer back then really made that its issue
I think for me it's at least better than the first Spyro, which is pretty good. Hero's tail is my first spyro game. Never understood how it was so under appreciated
Not to mention, A Hero's Tail was a million times better than the disaster that is Enter the Dragonfly...

@@pokcow01 ngl, we need a second Reignited Trilogy. Enter the Dragonfly would be a decent (not perfect, but decent) game if not for all of the bugs. And Hero's Tail really needs a graphics update. It's the second ugliest Spyro game (first ugliest being Spyro Skylanders).
The only gripe I have with Spyro 3 is Sheila's escort mission in Spooky Swamp. Where the Sea Monkey deliberately walks into every obstacle in their path without ever thinking "wait, why don't I just walk around them?"
You can actually cheese that by destroying the rocks ahead of time. Makes it so much easier.

Watching Caddicarus is like watching someone make jokes about something on the spot, except with higher production quality.
To hear Caddicarus praise so much Dawn of the Dragon, confirming that my childhood _isn't_ a lie, warms my heart so much. DotD has been my first game of the franchise (so much so that I didn't even know it was a reboot, I just thought it was "another Spyro game"), and considering how much bad I've seen talked about the reboot trilogy throughout the years, I was afraid the good memories I have of it were just due to my blissful lack of sense of quality as a child. So happy to see that isn't the case! :')
As somebody who was introduced to the Legend series by this video, and have been playing them for the very first time since then, I can concur that they are quite enjoyable, and that Dawn of the Dragon shines in multiple ways. I imagine a lot of hate simply came from Spyro fans who couldn't accept how different they were from past games. Meanwhile, I've been enjoying them because they're so different, as I never liked the older Spyro games.
Meanwhile, he shits all over Skylanders like it’s the sole reason there is sadness in the world. Sure does feel nice to have your childhood shat all over by a CZcamsr you loved watching.
ngl i didnt like the first two but i got the third one simply because its simon the door and i was pleasantly surprised that it was so. so. so damn good i was completely shocked because i didnt even finish eternal night due to how unbearable it was for me. but dawn of the dragon alone was able to make me replay the whole game because of just how fun it was, the combat was awesome, the vistas were beautiful, the exploration added with the permanent flight was so fun, and the music was a banger and im a bit sad its not talked about much. im so glad the studio did such a good job with it, they literally ended the new trilogy with a banger.

Nostalgia is a powerful beast. Spyro 1 was my first, and so the soundtrack is my absolute favourite.
Also that he said the soundtrack is spacious and meandering, but the game Isn't?! I'd say they match perfectly because of that. Beast Makers being a personal favourite
Can't deny, his Spyro 1 takes were kinda bullshit. He commented on everything apart from the actual level design (which is the most important and Spyro 1 has the best, (and the best music by far)).

For one thing, he reviews games purely for fun and personal experience as opposed to genuinely analyzing what made it so good like your typical talented VG reviewer and IMO I prefer the other two OSTs than the first Spyro game even with its title theme and Wizard Peak.
A lot of Spyro 1’s music is based on 70s Jazz fusion. In fact, it’s believed that Simon is named after the Jazz fusion artist Spiro Gyra. Luckily I’m a huge fan, so maybe Caddy just isn’t into that type of music. Personally, I love how atmospheric Spyro 1’s soundtrack is. I remember the first time I played Stone Hill and I heard that booming drum roll as Spyro flies into the Level. It still gives me goosebumps to this day.
