    Herr Antrim. Sie haben gesagt dass hätte bedeutet "had" (4.48), aber sollte es nicht "hatte" sein? Habe immer gedacht dass hätte bedeutet "would have". Danke.

      Es kommt darauf an, wie es benutzt wird. Oder was man im Englischen ausdrücken möchte. Man kann verschiedene Übersetzungen haben. Zum Beispiel: Wenn ich einen Hund hätte, würde ich ihn jeden Tag füttern. - If I had a dog, I would feed it everyday. Or If I would have a dog, I would feed it everyday. Or If I were to have a dog, I would feed it everyday. All dieser Übersetzungen sind gute Varianten desselben Satzes im Deutschen. - All of these translations are acceptable translations of the same sentence in German.

    I think the comparison with English is a bit confusing... the conditional in english goes like: if you opened your eyes you would find your keys...

    Ale rekalmy sa tu beznadziejne zwlaszcza ta o zakupie marihuany w Kanadzie. A teraz to.zdanie po niemiecku ? Aber die Anzeigen [Werbungen] sind hier hoffnungslos, besonders die über den Kauf von Marihuana in Kanada.
    To juz wyzsza szkola jazdy¡ is it correct that in German "Es ist bereits eine höhere Fahrschule." or is that another expression ?

    konjuctiv II = condition contrary to reality
    don't let the name subjuctive trick you the kind of subjunctive used in Persian, Italian, French, Spanish, slavic languages etc. does not exist in Deutsch.

      I'm Brazilian and I would not say that. It's not clear.
      Konjunktive 2 may be translated into two different verb tenses.
      I will write a brief explanation and if you find some inconsistency, please, let me know.
      (1)
      DE: Wenn ich Geld hätte, würde ich ein Auto kaufen.
      PT:
      Se eu tivesse dinheiro, compraria um carro.
      (2)
      DE: Wenn ich Geld habe, kaufe ich ein Auto.
      PT: Se (Quando) eu tiver dinheiro, compro um carro.
      Please check the table at [1-3] references. I will write the PorTuguese words between quotes.
      (1)
      Wenn ... hätte -- "tivesse" is in "(tempo) Pretérito do (modo) subjuntivo" [Past (Tense) of the subjunctive (mode)].
      but ...
      würde ... kaufen -- "compraria" is in "(tempo) Futuro do Pretérito do (modo) indicativo" [Future of the past (Tense) of the indicative (mode)].
      This sentence is, by all means here, the Second Condition of English.
      In PT it is necessary two different verbs tenses/modes to say it correctly.
      So, for us, Konjunktive 2 must be related to two different verb tenses and the difference depends of contexts or word like 'Wenn / if / se".
      (2) (I little bit more tricky)
      Wenn ... habe --
      (a) "Quando/Se ... tiver" is in "Futuro do subjuntivo" [Future of subjunctive].
      (b) "Se ... tenho" is in "Present do indicativo" [Present of indicative].
      but ...
      kaufe (ich) - "compro (eu) " is in "Presente do Indicativo" [Present of indicative].
      (b) is the zeroth condition, and (a) is almost the first condition [4]. 'Almost' because first condition leads present to future.
      (2) is tricky because translations will depend on context, even while speaking Portuguese I might ask if people are talking about present or future in some case.
      Back to Konjunktive 2.
      So the most suitable verb tense/mode to translate Konjunktive 2 depends of the position in the sentence.
      It is specially true if you consider the following alternative:
      (1a) Wenn ich Geld haben würde, kaufte ich ein Auto.
      We cannot just associate a form with 'würde' to one tense and to form without to the other sentence as the general rule is ^both forms are the same tense':
      hätten == würde haben
      kaufte == würde kaufen
      Which is very clear in the following example:
      (3)
      DE: Wenn ich reisen würde, würde ich Deutschland besuchen.
      PT: Se eu viajasse, visitaria a Alemanha.
      Once again:
      "viajasse" -> "Pretérito do subjuntivo"
      .
      "visitaria" -> "Futuro do Pretérito do indicativo" .
      I also speak Spanish (not native) and their use are very similar as can be seen in [5,6], despite some differences with "*Pretérito imperfecto*" and "*Pretérito perfecto compuesto*".
      Thank you kindly for your attention.
