Marcus almost lost a good thing because of his lustful, superfreak, playa self. He had sense enough to beg her to come back because it's not about the sex it is about the person.
Certified G, you are right about that. He had enough sense to know that long-term it wasn’t going to work out because him and Jacqueline. Angela reminded me of a college friend of mine named Tara. She was classy, conservative, smart, and trustworthy. Jacqueline was the total opposite. Mean, selfish, she was a lot like Marcus in the way she treated men.
The whole point of him saying that he couldn't breathe was to tell her my life is not complete without you. You guys have to remember how Marcus was before he and Angela were together; completely selfish, a player and a revolving door of women until he met his greatest match who was Jacqueline who by the way didn't give a fuck more than he did. But once Jacqueline did him wrong Angela was there for him. What distinguished Jacqueline from Angela was the fact that Angela was bubbly and artistic and sweet. She completely did a 180 after he cheated on her. But after she left Marcus did the greatest thing ever and that was to change. She made him see that he was not complete without her. Nothing felt right without her. That's what real men do
All that is true and more and another reason this is Angela resembled real love though. Jacqueline with all her glitz and glamor was nothing more than a fling, a booty call, and the fact is there was no way he could be in a real relationship with someone who was like him.
This movie has some points in it. He found out having all the glamorous lifestyle and sex made him miserable. He quit his job and waited 4 months to come see her. Which probably means he wasn’t sleeping with anyone. And she was still single. Money can’t buy you love. Quote: The cost of love is patience
This movie put both Halle Berry & Toni Braxton on the map big time!!! And they are still awesome in their crafts! Seems like yesterday when I was just 19-yrs old and I saw Boomerang when it was first released in theaters! Still a timeless, classic, great movie to this day!!! 👍🏾👏🏾
Bria Morgan, but he changed in the end, you obviously missed the whole point. Hell, I could say women like Jacqueline don’t change either, and I’ve met a lot of those in my day.
Derek Mathews I’m a guy like him and I’ll tell you straight up he didn’t change he just wanted what he couldn’t have. So that’s temporarily the case until he gets tired again
@@jaypay3502, well whatever the case is he came to his senses and realized that long-term he couldn’t be with a woman like Jacqueline. Jacqueline was selfish too. She just couldn’t let Marcus and Angela be happy when they were together. Overall. she treated men extactly how Marcus treated women. SMH
The crazy thing is that women will know he's up to no good and pretend as he is something that he's not. Marcus didn't trick any woman in the movie, he lived open and most of if not all the women knew his reputation but still wanted him. It's the women fault for being delusional.
VERY TOUCHING/POWERFUL SCENE . PERSONALLY BRINGS ME BACK TO THE ONLY WOMAN I HAVE EVER TRULY LOVED ( FACTS 💯 ) .. I STILL PRAY FOR HER AN HER NEW ENTIRE FAMILY/LIFE . THO I'M A MUCH BETTER MAN AN SHE IS GONE .. I STILL THINK ABOUT HER AN WONDER IF SHE THINKS OF ME/US .. I STILL FEEL HER PRESENCE. ( Can't help but think of her .. my apartment downtown window faces one of the hotels we shared regularly ).
the movie was supposed to end with them on the roof it was not supposed to end like this I happy that I didn't end with them on the rooftop would piss me off
I just re-watched this movie last night and while it’s still really good, I don’t like how the storyline was kind of cut into 2 random parts. It would have been more cohesive if they had Eddie & Halle Berry’s characters building a true friendship the entire time. This way, when Robin Givens did him wrong and when Halle realized she didn’t like David Alan Grier, them coming together would have made a lot more sense. But to have them randomly start being “best friends” was so out of the blue and I just noticed last night 😂 They had excellent chemistry though.
What I find most hilarious now in my older age is how sexist and hypocritical this all is. Angela knew full well what Marcus' reputation was, yet she conveniently drops his friend who on paper is a 'Good Guy' and goes for Marcus. I have far less sympathy for her than I did when I first watched it.
people dont like whats good for them, not just women, its in us all. Good things we take for granted, we go for the bad things and complain when we get screwed, Human Nature i Guess.
It interesting, growing older and viewing this with a more experience mind. I have to note Angela's transformation from sweet girl next door to alpha female whose cursing and swearing up a storm by the end of the movie. Something about it doesn't feel right.. I get Eddie's character hurt her but man....

I MISS THIS ERA
I do 2
A hopeful, fun time, where everyone was looking forward to the future and things were advanced but still tamed socially.
Likewise!
This movie’s soundtrack was(is) the shit
It's the 90s 😌😌
I still have the CD and listen to it often. It’s so fantastic!
Best ending scene ever. This is when Eddie was Eddie
Who is Eddie Murphy?
+Mitchell Hodack that a serious question?
By the way, I'm Mitch. What's your name?
Who is he now?

Boomerang and The Bodyguard were THE soundtracks of 1992.
Absofuckinlutely!! And the debut of Mary J Blige, TLC, and SWV....1992 was incredibly monumental!! Unreal 🔥🔥🔥
And Juice 🔥
All time great cast excellent writing and storytelling!!
THE INTENSE LOOK IN HER EYES .. ⌚🗝️🫂📖👍🏾🤫
Watching this ending, well actually this whole movie, as an adult is different. You realize how the story actually goes after the ending 🤣

Under Hassan her and Gerard were never a couple tho

Give you my heart Toni Braxton
That's the upscale remix version of "Give U My Heart"... which isn't on the soundtrack.
Why cut d ending in full movie then show it elsewhere, so silly
