As a big fan of the Terminator movies, I'm blown away. They really captured the atmosphere of the first two Terminator movies, so I was very much immersed in the story and the world of the game from the very beginning. This game made me feel like I was actually in the film and playing my part in it (fighting with the T-800 was a truly surreal experience). What's more, I really liked the actual gameplay: exploring, looting, combat and stealth. The only thing that I could find to complain about in this game was the graphics. Although the art style was amazing and the graphics were not bad overall (it's UE4 after all), I could sometimes find some low resolution textures. Face animation and lip sync also werent great. These imperfections did not affect my experience, so that's why I give this game a 9/10.

I own this game....let me just say the game has so much potential. You have to understand how this game operates. This isn't a fast run n' gun type of game....it's not "Crysis", "Call Of Duty" nor "Battlefield". This is a strategic stealth game that happens to have run n' gun moments. Also level up your plasma rifles. It takes a getting used to do it considered you have to match the patterns until you see a green lit bar...Lastly, if you really want to see all this game has to offer. Try to make time to complete a side quest. Side quest unlocks additional dialogue choices, more weapons mods, & sometimes unlocks additional characters. Just remember....again this is a stealth game, not a run n' gun....plan how you will take down the "T-800" robots. Plan how to succeed during boss battles & salvage as much crafting items as possible..... you'll gong need it ....trust me !

It's so strange that the films never really explored this part of the universe. Salvation kind of did but I always wanted to know about the events after judgment day and how Connor ended up being a leader. This game obviously doesn't tell that story either but at least there's a lot of supplementary story that does partially explore it.

    • @RepublicTrooper125

@@goukigod Yes, Salvation was set up for the future war but I think people couldn’t look past the modern/future lite tech to realize that the 2029 future war was still 11 years away. Even in Terminator Resistance, you find traces of that style from the past. The T600s come to mind and the other drones being killed by ballistic weapons.

Yeah 4 was definitely the best of the post T-2 sequels, but that's not sayin' much, it was an incredibly half assed, ham fisted attempt at the future war from T-1&2, but it was more loyal to the source material, quite frankly I'm sick of rehashes of the first two films, besides the future of the franchise should've been the war with Skynet and this game delivered that quite well for what it is. @@goukigod

    • @theogofguitar
      @theogofguitar Před 10 měsíci +1

Oddly enough the future war movie we all wanted probably is suited best as a video game. It’s all out war, small storylines between characters but a future war movie can only really live in the confines of T1-T2. This game lets you live in those confines but play them, which is probably the only adaption that really excels as a war scene. It doesn’t even make sense until you consider that it’s much better as a playable cinematic experience vs a passive watching but it does. It’s no AAA experience but T1 wasn’t either, it feels more like the T1 flashbacks anyways and works way better than it had any right to

This game nails the atmosphere and tone of the Terminator franchise with a great soundtrack.
Where it might divide players is the RPG elements with dialogue trees and crafting elements.
For a franchise based on action, the exploration feels slow and cumbersome.
I enjoyed the Infiltrator mode the most even if Schwarzenegger’s likeness isn’t present.
If you’re a fan of the Terminator films, it’s worth a play through if it comes on sale.

This game+DLC in its current patch iteration doesn't have a budget, superior CGI nor a cast of Oscar winners -- does that sound familiar to you, young James Cameron? However, unlike Hollywood in decades, it does something remarkable during its best moments:
It makes Terminators a genuine threat again. No special effects gadgettery trying to one-up what's come before. No pop culture jokes either. Just a few killer robots out to fucking hunt you down.

AAA developers usually are majority or minority shareholders in the major review sights. Or the studio will pay a large fee and bring the review team to their home city, put them up in nice hotels and look after them very well. The video game industry is incredibly incestous in this way. The big players keep Developers like Teyon down to keep their share of the current market for their next AAA title. Why would any reviewer want to possibly lose their next trip to Activision Blizzard, Bethesda or Rockstar just as examples by supporting or promoting a game that might affect the big players bottom line. Also all major AAA games are transforming to a slot machine type model. It’s all about, buying the battle pass and grinding for skins, all the while they recycle the same product with small changes every year to big and bigger profits. I bought this game because I played Robocop Rogue City, Teyon make video games that made me start playing in the first place. I know this is the enhanced version but Jesus have they upped the difficulty. Try extreme and shoot a T800, they do not miss and they are seriously scary. The tone is more horror survival than action and at least in this updated version the Terminators are scary smart. They know when you’re leading them into a stealth ambush even on normal. I had a T825 call my bluff and come around a corner and blast me into charred plasma without even hesitating. I never thought for one second it knew I was there. The soundtrack is next level amazing, and mixed in with deadly intelligent terminators hunting you like a hare is terrifying. You learn the tricks to survive but it’s far from just starting a firefight because even on normal you will get killed by more than one terminator very quickly. Especially if your alone, best piece of Terminator Media since T1 and T2. If they want to save the franchise I suggest they finally make a proper future war movie or trilogy. Yet another reason to watch independent reviews and never trust the big companies. Always look at the User reviews 🤣

@@shtcoinmaxi1367 Robocop is a pathetic example of this art form. Look at the NPCs. Look at how they move. Look at their eyes. These are not matters of budget, these are matters of artistic skill.
Look at the opening cutscenes as Robo and the dead-eyed Lewis doll catch an elevator together. Before during and after the elevator ride check Robo’s height and how much it changes.
Shoot a water bottle and watch the water poor out of a soace in thin air about 2 cm away form the hole it’s supposed to spurting out of.
      Look at the dead world.
17 years these muppets have been making games. Watch an npc raise his arm above his head and watch it not animate at all but move like a mannequin arm with the suit jacket just stretching to accomodate it.
Maybe Teyon are good plumbers or doctors or pilots but after 17 years with one of the most advanced game engines on earth they still can’t draw or animate for crap. I’ve watched robocop maybe 12 times and I know how he moves. It isn’t the way Teyon make him move.
Robocop’s gun is full auto in the movie. Right from the first scene you see it doing different lengths of burst fire but it fires as long as Robo pulls the trigger.
No one at Teyon picked up that little detail. Teyon SUCK and this franchise deserves so much better.

I just bought this game yesterday and I'm not enjoying it at all ffs. RoboCop Rouge City is mediocre to me but it's a lot better than this piece of sh*t.

@@kiillabytez No. I just think this is another grab cash game and profiting of a movie franchise that a lot of people around the world love, even if they have the right's to do so. To (ME) it's seems like a late PS3 to a early PS4 game. And before you say this, I know that no one asked for my opinion.

When characters are speaking to me they remind me of furbies and now Teyon have made Robocop walk like the “Keep On Truckin’” dude, animations are rough and Robo’s height pogos up and down from Lewis being his eye-height to him being a whole head taller.
There are people who draw and animate at Teyon but there are no artists. They put in effort but they suck. It’s like these games are made bakers and plumbers.
    They just, suck. They suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Agree with all that except for environmental artists. There are some amazing looking locations, whether it's Unreal 5 carrying the weight I don't know but they nailed photorealism in some scenes
