Great reaction! Only two artists have ever had the #1 album in both the UK and the US simultaneously. Susan Boyle and The Beatles. She did it twice in under 12 months. 2 Grammy nominations. Her net worth is about $40M...same as Elaine Paige. 25 million album copies sold and over 128 million gold and platinum albums in 38 countries. She did alright! More than that, she's just a good person who waited a lifetime to fulfil her dream. She never gave up.
Oh dear, I did smile to myself when you described her as a sweet old woman at 47. As a pensioner in my 70’s I certainly don’t feel old. Great reaction young man 😊
With some 27 million view on CZcams, Susan Boyle, perhaps one of the most unlikely contestants on a talent show, set new records and certainly must have got "it" right somehow. When she marched on stage, a rather dumpy and somewhat Frumpish, middle-aged woman, one could see the audience snigger. Even Simon Cowell rolled his eyes at her sassy response to his query about her age. Yet when her first notes soared above the audience, any scepticism immediately vanished. As we all know, Susan did not win the finals of that series, finishing second to a now, largely forgotten dance troupe, "Diversity". But Simon had recognised her true talent and appeal and bouyed by the fact that her Audition before the judges had by then gone "viral" across the globe, signed her to his record label. Her first album, a compact disc literally flew of the shelves, topping the charts in both the U.K. and the U.S., becoming the fastest selling record of all time. It was not a "flash in the pan" either, with subsequent releases echoing the success of her first. As is already stated, she is only the second recording artist to have had simultaneously, Number 1 albums in both the U.S. and The U.K. She has toured internationally receiving rapturous acclaim wherever she performs. Susan achieved her ambition of singing memorable duets with star of the London musical stage, Elaine Page and has, by special Royal Request performed for Her Late Majesty Queen Elisabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. She has achieved well deserved success beyond her wildest dreams and is worth some 50million U.$...! Not bad for a girl, many in her village called "Simple Susan", considering her to be mentally on the deficient side. She has now actually been correctly diagnosed, as suffering from "Asperger's Syndrome", but with medication and care, has the condition largely controlled. Surely one of the most remarkable aspects of Susan Boyle is that despite her world-wide fame and to many, her sizable fortune, she remains a warm-hearted and very down to earth person. She is utterly relatable to so many, with absolutely no trace of an "over-blown" ego, who chooses to still live in the same small house where she grew up and where she nursed her invalid mother, for so many years. Perhaps a truly wonderful modern version of the ultimate, "Local Girl Makes Good", story..!!
YOU FOR SURE SHOULD AS THIS WOMEN HAS HAD THIS GIFT .. How many people do . Yet she has stayed HUMBLE and lived out her dream SINGING with Elaine page .. Her idol .. On par with her idol. She never wanted to be in lime light per say . She wanted to sing .. And this audition is single most OMG moment . Her live acoustic versions of so many songs are phenomenal
Paul Potts and Charlotte & Jonathan had similar stories on Britain's Got Talent. Collabro as well. I've enjoyed them all from a remote northwest corner of the United States.
"Sweet old lady" indeed ... one of the hundreds, thousands, millions, of undiscovered talent in the world ... lucky for us she got discovered ... you should watch the whole thing, including her backstage ... she didn't know . She was bullied and harassed as a child, and into her adulthood. ... You should watch Paul Potts, too, and the movie made about his life story "One Chance".
Susan Boyle is still an active recording artist signed to Simon Cowell's label Syco Entertainment. She has released eight albums in 11 years and continues to perform, tour and appear on popular TV shows around the world.
Yes, Les Miserables is a powerful show. Although sung brightly, this song is a tragic one: At the end of a life of poverty and abuse… “My life has killed the dream I dreamed”
I believe you can't truly appreciate the scope of Susan Boyle's talent without looking into her life history. She has overcome 47 years of adversity--alone--and still had the courage to stand on that BGT stage and sing her triumph. You will be gob-smacked by her in many ways--excluding even her tremendous talent. The respect I have for the woman is limitless--and well-deserved.
Sweet Old Woman at 47 Please 47 is not old. It is just a number. I'm 71 n far from being old. I still walk 4 miles a day( fast walking), gymnastics I have done since I was 20 n I can still do everything I did back then, I'm still working as an RN n will not stop. Remember You Can't Judge a Book By Its Cover.
Old woman? She was 47 love not 97. Jesus I’m 62 and I’m not an old woman, I have a 30 year old boyfriend. If I had a penny for every time I heard that I’d be rich. Please be mindful of your words in future.
Check Out Susan Boyle studio album version of Wild Horses....sublime. And for Millenials ....Danson Remix of same song featuring Susan......Fabulous!!! Enough Said.
She's a lovely humble lady, who still does her own shopping. And has the voice of an angel. I loved the little smile just before she sang...she knew what she had to give. Simon looked totally enchanted. And I like the gentle scold from Ant backstage "You'se didn't expect that, did you. Did you?...no." I think that he and Dec were always a little more on the contestants' sides, since they got to talk to them beforehand. As for that note on the equipment, I wondered that myself, lol!
Plenty of CZcamsrs have reacted to Susan Boyle historic BGT audition, and fair enough they should! But not enough CZcamsrs , much less a lot people worldwide have heard her music , most of them amazing covers of classic songs , but her voice is simply amazing and beautiful arrangements , too! I hope you gave a listen to some of them since this video. Susan Boyle is one of the greatest singers in the world , she belongs up there with legends.
This is by far the best performance for a first round of one of these shows. Better than many full seasons. Some, including her, have better final products with producing etc., but it’s not a dramatic TV moment like this. I don’t think it will be topped.
Listen to Jonathan Antoine and Charlotte jaconelli ❤ on BGT 2012 ( 17&16 Years young) and when Jonathan got Solo. Maybe when he sung 'Ave Maria' with the age of 14... or check out his CZcams Channel 🌹 ❤️
Be sure you listen to her Wild Horses album. You will then have some idea about her life. She traveled the world and sang a duet with her idol Elaine page.
I would like to to add, that her recorded version of the song she sang hear “ I Dreamed A Dream “ is even more amazing and beautiful than her live BGT version , I hope you’ve heard it by now….,
Still doesn't change the fact shecwas there because of how she looked to hiw she sang and that makes it a victorian freak show. They thought they were gonna just laugh at her and everyone's OK with that. I played the clubs for years and there was many local people could sing that well and since I've heard from a few people that didn't get past the audition for the TV audition dispite having very good voices but didn't have the freak show element of looking wrong and sounding right. That's why I despise the programme.
She is a very good singer. There is no doubt about that. But I am sure she worked on the surprise effect too. She was 47 and she knows how the world Works. Look at her dress and her hair cut. She wasn't on her best looking. Look after, how she was on her next performance. She was really better. I am sure about one thing, on this kind of show and every where in the world, there is a before and an after Susan Boyle.
No I believe this was her actual look. She was not worldly wise and had spent many years caring for her elderly mother. She also has some mental health issues
Susan didn't win because the P C world was gaining momentum. The word DIVERSITY is the clue. Are you with me? I will try to explain. I am in no way discrediting their talent. They are amazing. But has anyone actually noticed, that since this amazing talented dance act won BGT. The word DIVERSITY ..... has kinda overshadowed the act itself, and a new POLITICAL statement was born? Well.... Put it this way. Before Diversity won that show. Honest answers only please. Did anyone actually know what DIVERSITY meant? Or even cared what it meant? LOL.

And she has performed with Elaine Paige. I actually think she's a better singer.
Oh dear, I did smile to myself when you described her as a sweet old woman at 47. As a pensioner in my 70’s I certainly don’t feel old. Great reaction young man 😊
I am 44 and that made me chuckle. I am definitely not an old woman yet. Sweet or otherwise 😂
Her audition is one of the EPIC moments on TV! I tear up! Womderful

2 big tips: her duet with Elaine Page ("I know him so well") and "Wild Horses" on America's got Talent (AGT).
God didnt give her beauty because he knows that fades he gave her the voice of an angle because thats eternal
She has done wonderful albums and has traveled giving concerts. She remains happiest in her little home.
She had the fastest selling first album. She outdid the Beetles. She was on benefits, she’s now worth over £40 million. ❤❤❤

I was going to say the same- his audition brought tears to my eyes!

loved seeing your eyes just watering up. always had that affect on me and still does

Her first notes all Simon heard was cha-ching$$$.
You should! Try "Wild Horses"
She’s so loveable, a joy to watch. I also agree with the Educating Yorkshire comment. Both clips bring tears to my eyes.

Feeling Good - Carly Rose Sonenclar - on XFactor 2012 was one of the big auditions
Great video James. And your right about mushiraf. Even wee boys were crying at him speaking infront of them.
❤️ she should’ve got the golden buzzer 🎉
They didn't have a golden buzzer back then.
If they had it then, I think Peirs would have pressed it right away.
Check Out Susan Boyle studio album version of Wild Horses....sublime. And for Millenials ....Danson Remix of same song featuring Susan......Fabulous!!! Enough Said.
Susan Boyle and Julia Carlisle (MerseyGirls) are my two favorite auditions on BGT
I’ve watched this 100s maybe 1000s of times uplifting
I can’t believe she didn’t win, 2nd place. She sang for the queen and is a millionaire from her record sales.
No one knows where the 1st place winner's are now. I think she was so overwhelmed by the end. She even got to sing for the pope.
She's a lovely humble lady, who still does her own shopping. And has the voice of an angel. I loved the little smile just before she sang...she knew what she had to give. Susan’s best album was her first named after her iconic I DREAMED A DREAM. It had some fantastic songs on it.

You should check out Paul Pott’s audition. It is amazing too. Also check out Blue October’s music too. They have a lot of videos here on CZcams

check out susan boyle singing "unchained melody" with the symphony behind her
She dueted with Elaine Paige she was very good
Susan was in a movie called Christmas candle
I've read that in fact Amanda was the most flippant and critical in her remarks before Susan sang... Great reaction, thanks!
Les Miserables is my absoolutely all-time FAVORITE musicals!!!!!!!
Les miserable is definitely a watch when older sort of production. You like it more the older you get.
It does the heart good. One for the underdog. Simon is the man. These shows depend on his intrgrity.
Listen to Jonathan Antoine and Charlotte jaconelli ❤ on BGT 2012 ( 17&16 Years young) and when Jonathan got Solo. Maybe when he sung 'Ave Maria' with the age of 14... or check out his CZcams Channel 🌹 ❤️
correction to earlier post ....should have read ....Daxson remix of Wild Horses featuring Susan Boyle.... Fabulous!!!
Unchained melody Susan boyle
Be sure you listen to her Wild Horses album. You will then have some idea about her life. She traveled the world and sang a duet with her idol Elaine page.
Amanda Holden was really nasty to Susan. Those parts were edited out, and someone who was there told the real story behind the scenes
Susan Boyle $52 million net worth
How the tides sometimes change.
Remember. Keep dreaming.
He wasn't far off tears as he listened.
Paul Potts was another decent one.
I would like to to add, that her recorded version of the song she sang hear “ I Dreamed A Dream “ is even more amazing and beautiful than her live BGT version , I hope you’ve heard it by now….,
YOU SHOULD RESEARCH ALL OF SUSANS INFO AND DO ANOTHER VIDEO!!!
WILD HORSES Susan Boyle

As of May 2023, Susan Boyle's net worth is estimated to be roughly $40 Million.
Try Karise Edens audition for the voice Australia.
06:04 (Ka-Ching!! Ka-Ching!!)
She just wanted to sing for a large audience
you should listen to her recording with Elaine Paige
Check out Paul Potts ! He has a great story to !
Watched it was great
Educate Yorkshire is the title?
🍃🤔🍃Sweet old woman you think.
You need a good slapping mate!!!
You should
