"The best way to start anew is to fail miserably". This song has saved me from very dark times more than once. I can't thank enough for its existence. I wish one day I could tell her.

How are you doing now?.. Wish you to have all a good day despite anything (x
This song is in both 17/8 and 5/4 or 5/8 briefly (from about 1:11 to 1:50). In some of the live performances, she projected her novel music notation system on to a screen. You could see where it switches and when it switches back.. I have to hand it to Bjork; Biophilia is more of a "concept album" than any other concept album ever created. Each song can be used to teach a concept of life from the subatomic to the macrocosmic level, also each song had a new and unique musical instrument created bespoke for it, which she then carried around the world on tour, also each song can be used to teach a musical theory concept, and each song had an app made for it.
and if you asked her why, she'd explain that it would have been pointless not to
This is what I get for youtubing at 4am instead of sleeping. And I don't regret anything.
Clodagh Corry I'm doing the same thing, at the same time, Three months later
Breno Muniz one week from your comment, I find myself in this exact situation...
Ser Ritter 3 weeks later... same thing
Teddy Bear 10 hours later, same here
2:30 am.but I took a 3 hour nap earlier.
This song has me in tears right now. I'm 1160 away from home and I've lost all , but the phase of the moon is becoming whole. This is a very powerful song. Can't stop crying
I hope wherever you are now, you feel at home
Spencer Watson That was so sweet!
Tyi Ingram i hope youre home and comfortable and ready for a new adventure honey
imagine u are dancing on the moon. u will come out renewed and inspired. Its energy is peace love and comfort.
Tyi Ingram may much new and wonder be yours .
If she was born thousands of years ago I could imagine her being the oracle of delphi, sitting alone at the top of a mountain. Feared and respected, she would sing songs of victory or destruction to the greek kings who came to visit her.
Oh my gods yesss!
She's Icelandic, so she would have been a volva...similar job, only Norse!
Amoony Doody your comment is full of lovely, dreamy and still-possible imagery. Such a pretty scenario you are bringing up to my mind ;) beautiful comment!! Love.
That's beautiful
Ooo yes I love that :)
I've only just realized that the time signature of this song was chosen to match the phases of the Moon. This woman never stops amazing me!
+Callum McPherson What does that mean? :l
+Xavier Santana watch the big moon animation & listen carefully to the background harp music...
17/8 right?
What's a time signature ? Could you please explain?
James Bennett it's how many beats are in each beat of the song. This song is in 17/8 I believe which means there's 17 beats in each bar she sings. Most are in 4/4 so there's 4 beats but this song is extremely odd compared to most.
I love Bjork so much. You will never see her trying to sell or advertise or product place anything in her music videos. NOTHING!!! She is a poet, she sells human emotion. She sells ups and downs of relationships. She sells the bitter sweetness of life. Damn it! I love her!!!! I am so glad that I was able to see her live.
***** I'm not one to ask silly questions. But I will. How's your reading comprehension? Either you didn't understand my comment or didn't read it in it's entirety. I was primarily speaking of her music videos. And how you never see advertisements in them. No LAMEborghinis, The hottest alcohol brand, clothing brand or any branding for that matter. Then I went on to say what SHE was selling and that was human emotion and to take a trip in her shoes to understand her poetry. Sorry that my comment flew over your head like drones on their way to Afghanistan...
If you see my response as cute, that's your business. Even more, what the hell are you even talking about? Bjork's religious belief is her business. I don't idealize of Bjork, I very much appreciate her. You seem to have a problem with Bjork. The simplest fix for your problem is not to click on any of her videos. Since you're some type of xenophobe and can't understand nothing more in the world other than yourself and inner circle of pupils whom you only know. Get lost! and go and live under that rock from which you came. It's the twenty first century, it may take you by surprise.
THANK YOU!!! Bjork is the best!! My mother took me to see her live when I was 10. I'm 17 now and as soon as she tour the U.S again I will be there in my adulthood. I have every album of hers on my hard drive and Ipod. LOL, I listen to her more mellow songs while being aggressive in my workout and martial art training, go figure:) I adore her too, so much. Peace be with you as well.
Love Your Poetry!!!!! And I will. Take it to heart. Thank you....

Biophilia is such an underrated album
It's certainly my favourite. I've always liked the runts of the discography (biophilia, volta, utopia) proportionally more than the more popular ones (post, homogenic).
My favorite at the moment at least, it competes with Medulla.
@@pseudoplotinus Real
@@pseudoplotinus all the discography of Bjork is so good and heavenly, but the best albums are the underrated
It’s become a personal ritual for me to listen to this masterpiece at every full moon, it makes me feel like I’m synchronized with the nature, fills me up with peace.
Wow I should start doing by this!
I do the same 🌙
great idea!
I love this idea, going on a stroll with the full moon shining down on earth closing my eyes feeling the wind in my hair ❤️☺️
Sound like a plan for the next full moon!
How do you think she articulates her ideas to her staff?? Like "red afro, gut harp, time lapse moon!"
Eileen Meier I think about this too
She’s prob not the one who came up with the mv idea
@@uakk9171 she did, please look at the description box for more information :)
Okay but the gut harp is so cool.
Eileen Meier that’s not Ana Afro
"Best way to start-a-new is to fail miserably,

And kick into the start hole, and kick into the start hole, And kick into the start hole....
To risk all is the end all and the beginning all " ámola
I felt that.
i love her.
"Fail at loving and fail at giving
Fail at creating a flow then realign the whole..."-my favorite part
The first bjork song I've ever heard...been OBSESSED ever since
Welcome to obsession. Björk changed the way I listen to music.
Her voice feels like a wiser, older me comforting me. She expresses sadness in other songs, and it makes me weep and nod as if i could rest on her shoulder and share the pain of the spear of love through us. This feels like she's holding my hands in a motherly way, spinning me through empty space and shily singing about little shards of hopeful future, like a fae spirit that feels humanity but can't quite intervene in my destiny, yet helps.
That's why this track is called 'Moon'. The Moon represents femininity and motherhood ❤
This is a beautiful comment and i hope you can see my appreciation of your beautiful literature
What amazes me about her is not only her musical genius, but she never lost that child like voice of hers :)
czcams.com/video/sUJxRlnaku4/video.html
I dont know dude, I don't think it's great to curate your kid that way. Maybe leave it to the kind of chance you probably enjoyed as a child.
This is the first music I will play to my newborn daughter, it will be the first music she hears after being outside the womb. I can't wait for this moment 💜
What a lucky baby!
That's awesome Magnum ✌😎👍
this lyric, this video, this woman, all is full of love.
Yes, it's very nice to notice.
when I discover artists like her my hope for humans increases
''Humans''
Me puedes decir qué otros artistas están dentro de tu lista "hope for humans" ?
Florence Welch deberia estar en esa lista...
Its almost all we got nowadays.. hold on to it
Barehan Mahamed Ds artists like her?
Lol...
She understands my soul completely. What an amazing time to be alive: watching her creativity unfold, die, be reborn. I feel so grateful to witness it all. Thank you Bjork. Thank you forever 💖💖💖
I'd like you to show me the moment when her creativity dies and is reborn. Thanks.
This is song is so healing
I continuously played this song at the end of my pregnancy . He was born on a full moon . 😀👣🤰
@Yup My Skin sounds like a beautiful experience
Bjork’s Frosti was the only thing to calm down my son’s colic.
couple month ago, i couldnt get into this, but i've been craving it lately, intensely, so i tried going at it with an empty mind. doing that leaves this giving me the most beautiful feeling. this song makes me happy to be alive and human.
I go ages without her music and then suddenly, it is a very deep and strong need within me to hear her again. Right now her music is speaking to me at the deepest core of myself, it's almost as if I could hear it in my very bones!

She isn't from this world, there is a completely adorable woman in front us. She is more than amazing ...
This lady as talent always has I loved her for over 25 years
Luckily, I have met her ^-^

I lovington her 😘
Rüştü Talha Tokmak She is indeed from another world. Sent here to do exactly what she does, and she brings great Love and Light along with.
she ate this up

I will never listen to music the same. This song made me dig deep into my soul. I found pain i didn't know was there, and found resolution in these lyrics.
I may not understand her art, but I love her voice.
So so beautiful

That harp goes right through my soul
This song restores me from the inside everytime I hear it. I just can't imagine how could a person do such a in incredible work with only her voice and some instruments. It's incredible.
Such a beautiful human being...
she's a vital perfection of flesh and bone. just like Dave Gahan, she's the one that makes you realize that it's impossible to look better. their beauty is beyond all beauty.
Fuck...How could someone unlike this? So interesting and innovator..Björk is genial and precursor. She opened the door to all the bitches that are successful with the eccentric. All Respect and admiration to her.
+Bianca Jones People don't like it because its so innovative. If everyone likes you, you ain't innovating. You are totally right though. :)
biophilia is actually so underrated, this song is beautiful btw
I had a dream that bjork was eighty years old and tap dancing with a younger girl and singing along with her in what looked like a living room
This is the division that I suspect is the problem. She's not properly managed to recognise who she is yet. She often acts as though she believes the organism is the nature of her identity.
[Verse 1]
As the lukewarm
Hands of the gods
Came down and gently
Picked my adrenalin pearls
They placed them in their mouths
And rinsed all the fear out
Nourished them with their saliva
[Verse 2]
Rested
As if the healthiest past time
Is being in life-threatening circumstances
And once again be reborn
[Interlude]
All birthed and happy
All birthed and happy
All birthed and happy
All birthed and happy
All birthed and happy
All birthed and happy
[Verse 3]
Best way to start-a-new
Is to fail miserably
Fail at loving and fail at giving
Fail at creating a flow
Then realign the whole
And kick into the start hole
And kick into the start hole
And kick into the start hole

HOW HAVE I NOT LISTENED TO HER BEFORE!
Welcome to her Godessness.
I know what you mean I went to a hot topic and I saw this shirt with the name "Bjork" I asked the lady at the counter who Bjork is
.after doing so, you could see that she just wanted to slap the bitch outta of me thanks to my insolence.
No problem mate! Thats good actually because you can start enjoying all of her music now.
Btw: I'm 35 now. And I'm listening to Bjørk since I was 14. :D
Tadeo Mandela when was this?? do they still have the shirt?!?!
go away
sorry
friggin 17/8
Bjork is Mother Nature she is true art!!!!
Her voice makes me cry, it's just so powerful yet so calming and beautiful, she herself is art
I think this album is best paired with Radiohead's The King of Limbs. Both emphasize the natural sphere, circular rhythms, intricate but restrained melodic lines, and an environmentally focused lyrical theme that doesn't lose its poignancy in the tides of passion.
I'm gonna go check that out. King of limbs better not suck
Yaaaaas! have the same
I just realized there's some sort of instrument on her stomach lol
Man, the Iris Van Herpen dress is everything.
If you all love her so much why don't you just subscribe and like her activism videos. Its pretty sad how her fans wont even lend an ear she would like some help in saving iceland's highlands (the glaciers) and THAT video sure doesn't have so many views or likes so please chime in where it really matters be more like Bjork

@@enricoanderlini5928 I would have expected you to Enrico. Have you lent your support to the issue she is dealing with now, regarding Salmon farming?
I love her so much. I wish I could see her live at least once in my life. I actually discovered Bjork through Biophilia and I find it really different compared to her other works. She is good no matter what she does and hope she keeps on producing her masterpieces.
Damn she is weird, and creative... AMAZING
Weirder than Lady Caca.
I lOVE how she never do simple song's structure: refrain - verse - refrain - verse.... No!..
She makes you go deep into intricate music worlds. And her voice!.. The main conductor of this journey!.. It leads the melody and makes other soundy things as chorus or arpha BLOSSOM!..
I just love, love, love it!! Especially the part 3:05 - 4:00.
Imágenes exclusivas de hace Miles de años atrás captando el momento exacto dónde Björk crea la luna
She's just magical!!!
interesting. this is a special voice
She is a one-of-a-kind for sure.
I love her voice
she explores emotional landscapes with sound;
lots of things are strange when they're new.
she is not insane or high, but rather brainy, emotional, curious, open, funny and she is an artist because she helps you understand and value how you feel
almost impossible to choose between "Moon" and "Crystalline" as my favorite track from "Biophilia"... this one is so simple yet so beautiful, I cried the first time I heard it and it never stopped making me emotional each time! once again, thank you so much Björk!

I never thought a 17/4 beat does work but in this song... it kind of does. Pretty interesting.
it's a combination of 17/4 and 5/4, just count the moons =)
She is the music coincidence, pure art to my ears, love her so much!
“Best way to start-a-new

Thanks Björk. I needed to hear that today.
We're not even close to worthy.....
So majestic!
This is so beautiful to me. Loves it
The Queen of Music♥
All these artist today owe Bjork a big Thank You for all she has done.
Not only musically but stylistically as well.
She is a goddess ...
This whole album was good when I bought it. Still is
She IS a moment in its own. True artistry knowing but doing she just IS...
1:41 is where the real magic starts. This is a marvelous song.
for me its 2:30 where the Real magic starts. Bjork knows her harmonies better than most composers. They are so deep and layered and I swear she hardly repeats the same formations, always growing and changing through the song.
i agree. she really knows how to use dissonance well. Frosti and Virus are my favourite examples
her lyricism is out of this world, one of the best to ever write music
I love it. Is totally my style.
Her voice is so beautiful and the music video is creative. Just perfect.
and here you are 5 years later into kpop lol (i can relate)
Oh, Bjork. Fantastic as always. :)
I’m soo in love with this guy. This song is like how I feel when I’m with him
Are you together now?
this song really helped me with my PTSD thank you Bjork
Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent. Björk got it all❤️
The moon always looks so innocent. Venus knows better. 12th of February was an eye opener. I read the Olympus wiki. It said Persephone is the fiercest goddess. Hera once posed as a journalist to antagonise her, and she retaliated, demonstrating her fierce nature. This motif plays out again in every new cycle when the old gods return. Hermes saw it happen in this cycle, and her ferocity was magnificent. His heart grows ever more.
You are so correct sir. I can see that you know exactly what you are talking about.
trying out new music so far i love this im usually a nu-metal person and this is amazing
+Victor Ramirez I went from rammstein to this
+Dylan Cree Is that coz of CKY lol?
Martinez UAV I haven't a clue who CKY is sorry lol. But in saying that I listen to pretty much evry music genre I was just showing how weird my taste in music is.
Martinez UAV It was actually radio head who introduced me to bjork
+Dylan Cree Nothing weird about that, really. Just because you listen to metal or whatever doesn't mean you wouldn't enjoy this music. Genres in music don't define your taste, they merely help you find similar music, because humans love classifying and categorizing things and want everything to be linked together properly.
This song feels like a warm hug
remember the moon transcends light so that all who dwell , will never lose they're way ! , the moon dances with the sun
This is a true pure child of the universe she is so amazing
czcams.com/video/sUJxRlnaku4/video.html
This is truly her best song in my opinion. Her talent is so powerful.
didn't pick up that this is in 5 until watching this
bucket loads of talent
Nothing compares to Björk, she's my goddess, i love her more than anything else ❤️
Do you know which stone she holds in her hand?
If you are looking for a goddess, then you can't really get better than Björk. It is a shame she doesn't admit who she really is. I am concerned that she might not know. If I was her, I would have spoken out by now, considering the state of the world.
This song heals me through the dark and twisted bends of life.
Listening to this for the first time, and bjork for the first time and feel like I've found a long lost sister. What a beautifully haunting and homesick sound
Love björk life would be so much worse than it is without music 👽
Overflow of emotion i just discovered bjork. Wow. Divine timing i guess but id loved to have heard this before. Im in love with all these amazing creations. I resonate with her so much beautiful malleable creature

It also comes with a deeper understanding of art.
One aspect of art is pushing boundaries, finding new ways to speak the unspeakable. It's what Bjork is really good at.
The time signature in this confuses me so much and I love it
This is how true music is supposed to be. Art. Expression. Hopeful.
Even as she got more fame and attention, she never lost true sight of what her music was about.
She also has a voice like no other, it’s almost like she is singing in an entire new language. I understand it yet don’t at the same time.
WOW *speechless*
Bjork has got to be the only artist that has made me cry, have chills, and be in heaven in her live shows.
And this comes from Madonna fan #1.. lol Bjork is just on another level..or a very different level. I do have her tattooed on me. Always love her.
This song should get 1 billion views.
To risk all is the end-all and the beginning-all.

Transcending music... i love so much!
I love music in all genres, so much music has been so transformative. But no one, nothing has ever held and healed my heart like Björk has. She’s like returning home
I'm ruled by the moon, this song always tugs at my heart. I can feel her sing to my inner soul.
She does that. It's a sneaky huldufólk seiðr trick.
She is just enchanting
I died for a couple minutes of a heroin overdose with my girlfriend, who played Björk through my unresponsiveness, knowing I guess I love Björk; trying to wake me - I was woken after 3 narcan shots.. and what had been described as, an experience disturbingly similar the Jane scene of Breaking Bad- a month and a half later, I’m clean again.. albeit yeah - despite being relatable lyric’s other than that. I very much so lived some of these lyrics in a non-metaphorical sense recently.. to this song, ‘Black Lake’, and ‘I remember you’ as my yt history read - not that I overly apply significance to that - but still - this really speaks louder than it ever had for me. Damn.
Stay strong and healthy brother 💪 Bjork would be very proud of you for staying clean and moving forward.
You should attach significance to it. In the old legends it is said that Odin takes half of those who fall in battle, and Björk takes the other half. They didn't used to call her Björk back then, but aside from the name change, she hasn't really changed all that much.
@@inconspicuous-new--account I’m pretty familiar - I’ve read the Poetic Edda & The History of Iceland recently actually - and I do, I’m very much into such history based critical thought - rationalist philosophies and psychologies and religious concepts that all support my personal growth.
I thank you for taking the the time to say this- and appreciate the advice.
Björk has and always will be beloved to me- her music has always been emotional and- as much as I want to avoid the word- spiritual-self development.
@@liltick102 I died of a heroin overdose myself about three decades ago. Turned blue, had to be brought back around. I get the impression that some of us are not supposed to die. A matter of minutes later, I had another similarly large dose, which my friends considered to be unacceptably reckless, so they threw me out of the house, to see if I would meet my end outside. I seem to have lived a charmed life thus far though. I came to the conclusion about a decade ago, that immortality is simply a matter of not dying when you are supposed to. I met Michael online in 2020, and I think he had developed a similar opinion.
However, from my perspective, I'm living on borrowed time. My life is basically forfeit. Not just because of that one occasion. They had their hooks into me since 1975. It was around the mid 90s they made their move. I got approached by a demon. It tricked me, and then suddenly my life changed. I'd just hung around before that. Passing time, socialising. wandering in the wild, cycling, painting a little. A fairly peaceful rustic life. From that point on though, stuff changed rapidly.
I met a guy harbouring the spirit of Beelzebub, and we lived in a couple of places in the Netherlands. I became immensely muscular for a couple of years, and then that all swiftly disappeared off me, and I got a very good law degree, went into teaching, and just kept on learning and learning, obsessively. Until 2020. I had been practicing experimental sorcery for a while at that point, just trying to work out exactly what it was. I was mostly focusing on the psychology angle. However, I was also connecting with faeries and nature spirits. I saw no reason not to interact with them. I could hardly study the phenomena if I was to ignore it.
I got drawn in deeper, and I was given advice, and assistance by these presences. I still hadn't really drawn any firm conclusions about what they were. I never used any formal conjurings. I just went looking for them, found them, and then spent time with them. For some reason I didn't really consider that the demon I'd met in the 90s might be an issue. It didn't occur to me. They have a habit of blocking out things that you really should be aware of. You just end up happening to not think about it, for years on end. An example of this is actually Björk herself. They deliberately wiped her from my awareness near the end of the 90s, and I simply didn't realise she existed, until 12th of February 2020.
Then, I suddenly discovered myself in a bit of a predicament, as the demon rose up against me. My life was torn apart. My soul was torn apart first, and then it went downhill from there. Björk's music contained instructions that helped me repair the damage. This video is one of the earliest I got to see, on that very day I think, because it was a day when Venus rose opposite the moon, and Lilith wished me to see the connection. The Gate was one of the songs that told me how to repair the damage to my soul. All Neon Like is a track that I naturally really loved. And of course, obviously Venus as a Boy. There are so many extremely useful and valuable bits of information hidden in Björk's work.
It's common with many bards, but Björk is not like the others. She writes songs as though she actually knows who she is. However, she still appears not to realise. This is probably why Isobel is so insistent that the message MUST be delivered. I had such a peaceful life up until 2020. Now I find myself permanently engaged in a task which is largely centred around trying to get a single message to Björk. Nearly four years of my life, taken up by trying to get one person to read a message. And it's actually her who asked for the message. There is going to be a lot of change soon. It has already begun.
That bloody Isobel. She does this. Look up Isobel and the Elf Knight. It doesn't portray me very well, because I am The Elf Knight. I think that what has basically happened is that a lot of people have answered this call in the past, and it has been very common for them all to end up dead. I'm no idiot though. My education has been unusually broad. However, I am not permitted to stop if I do not succeed in delivering the message. Now is the correct time. Global circumstances have been perfect since 2020. It is very obvious that now is the right time.
I could tell you so much about faeries, elves, demons, pagan gods, unicorns, centaurs, satyrs. It's amazing how much you can pick up if you end up getting possessed by a demon. If you are into the psychology, you should take a look at Carl Jung's Red Book. It wasn't published until this century, because he was concerned it would destroy his career and legacy. He had some very interesting experiences which he analysed, and they made a big difference to his understanding.
On a similar note, Jordan B Peterson may be a psychologist, but he is also something of an expert on mythology and spirituality as well. He has also been through some harsh experiences, similar in hue to the experiences that Jung went through. And another one which might be interesting is Donald Hoffman. He's also a psychologist, and he has some fascinating ideas about perception, and the true nature of reality, which he asserts humans have not evolved the ability to perceive. He did make a video with Jordan, relatively recently. You should be able to find it on CZcams.
From a more spiritual point of view, I'd recommend Discourses by Meher Baba. It cuts away a lot of the spiritual fluff. He still describes various spiritual phenomena, but he does so from the point of view of someone who is well aware that all humans perceive is in essence an illusion. All experience has some manner of illusory quality to it. Modern society tries to tell you that illusion only applies to those perceptions which can't make a profit for wealthy exploiters, but illusion is how the entire cognitive model is constructed, by improvisation in the growing brain.
Meher Baba's key aim is to pull all religious beliefs together in harmony, like beads on a single string. He died in 1969, however it was he who gave me to Lilith in the mid 90s. Or at least it was the illusion of him, but he identified as God, and the entity that gave me to Lilith identified as God, and used his appearance.
He was very interested in the mainstream faiths. I personally have found myself more drawn to the pagan systems, which take in so many different deities, for so long, in so many different places. There is solid evidence of pagan faith going back tens of thousands of years. I like to get to the root of these things. I also like that pagan faiths are open and inclusive, rather than adversarial, and in conflict. Rather ironic considering so many adversarial religions purport to have a peaceful God, whilst pagan faiths embrace gods of war, and may also appeal directly to Satan, the adversary. I suppose the pagans have their eyes open though. The mainstream religions prefer to look the other way whilst Satan undermines them.
"To risk all is the end-all and the beginning-all"... love Björk
This song makes me sob uncontrollably
the most common complaint i've heard about this album is that it "sounds like she's making up the words as she goes".. i don't fully think this, but i would think it would be intentional for her singing to sound improv'd on this album. one of my favorites from her. it's her most organic, i think. and it's a very underrated album compared to her other ones, i think. i love it more and more each listen. but the main i thing i love is the rough texture of her voice on this one, but still sublime.
She is guided by her intuition. She says things that are important.
"Arriscar tudo é o fim de tudo e o começo de tudo"
Essa música é linda! A vida é cheia de fases, assim como a Lua =)
not all björks songs speak to me but i adore her art generally so much.she really is unprecedented and so impressing
Happy bday, Biophilia 💕
