Nikola Tesla would probably be dancing up on stage during this epic performance!
Of course he would!
probably watch it from home uoutube me thinks idk
now we understand björk's source of unlimited energy
Is this supposed to be more of a drama student thing? WTF don't I see in this music lol. Where do people start liking it?
I'm very open, I'll listen to songs purely for them sparking a bad emotion or something. But this confuses me. I don't even understand her voice and all I hear is a vibrating beep noise from inside the faraday cage etc
@@-AAH- it’s really hard, in the beginning for me it was yuck, it made me ill when I listened to her music because it was so hard to digest, i think you need a retrospectively wide look on what you can really do with music, I started with listening to more easily digestible tracks of her, then slowly became enfolded and consumed by how creative she is and how she composed music, slowly you travel into the abyss that is her discography, I’m not really sure how I started to like this music, but I guess it’s what connects with the listener and man do I connect with this music, it’s beyond what I’ve ever heard, so human, so surreal, so visually psychedelic, and in reality at the same time..I just love her artistry 💀
I saw it live in Stockholm. Everybody was speechless because of this greatness. A real miracle.
For real! Near tears. For me Bjork, the dance of the lighting, the containment of it all and the echos of the live choir represent humanity at its worst and best: The feats and majesty within our own grasps of destructions all in one musical and technological tour de forcé!
@@KaliCoriaCMWSOT What part of the song sounds good? I seriously want to know if there is any useable data I can gather here, but I do not understand this artist
@@-AAH- you might need to listen to some of her more… easily digestible songs. Try Pagan Poetry, Frosti or maybe Bachelorette. All of her different albums have very different feelings. I didn’t like her music immediately. It took time and finding the right song that hits and the right time, then I keep finding more and more things that I love, and it has expanded my idea of what music can be. It makes me a better musician.
@@-AAH- you are just a troll, replying to a lot of comments with the sole intention of invalidating someone else's art. the thing is that this specific someone is held in extremely high regard by her peers and her fans in terms of affection, admiration and respect, due to her rich and varied 4-decade-long career in music as a songwriter, composer, arranger, producer, singer and performer. go do something better with your time, Björk does not need you to understand her work.
@@-AAH- ALL THE SONG SOUNDS REALLY GOOD, YOU CAN UNDERSTAND IT BECAUSE YOU ARE SLEPPY HEAD
I hope that in 200 years time students will have to learn about Björk in their Music and art classes
we already are :)
Students are currently learning about Bjork
we are :))
We wont be alive in 200 years
I am a music student that has already learned so much from her and she continues to be an inspiration for me. Her biophilia project is genius.
5:13 when she turns away is just beautiful, like a planet hiding from view
It's already been 10 years?!? This video is still so fresh in my mind.
"My romantic gene is dominant, and it hungers for union..."
Wonderful ❤
search4insomnia best part of the song ❤️
@@leovdy yeah, specially cause that’s the part the beat kicks in! i also like the part she says ‘I am inviolable!’
Saw it live... pretty hard to describe the feeling of being there, bjork is a true artist.
That use of the Tesla Coil and those vocals harmonies are just amazing. One of my favorites from Biophilia.
three years and I still get chills all over from this song.
no one imagines the light shock I need
and I ll never know
Did you get that shock, bruh? I did 🥴
for me this is the saddest song in the world, but in such a raw, powerful, organic way, no sentimental bullshit. love her so much
I love the complex harmonies of her female choir!
What a great tour this was, Bjork is such a wonderful artist and person, Love and Light.
she always puts so much into her live performances, this is a true artist and I'm glad I've grown up with her.
I am beginning to think that Iceland is actually a section of another planet that came to live on Earth, and its artists were meant to show us new forms of aesthetic & entertainment that the average schmoe on the street will never be able to relate to. Long live original entities such as Bjork, Sigur Ros, and mum.
Me too
The way the choir arrangement mimics the lyrical content in “waaaves irregularly striiiking… striking!”. It's the high point for me every time.
Björk... Björk... I'll never get tired of saying her name. She made me cry with this one, what an interpretation, a musical legend, no doubt.
remember this concert like yesterday. when i heard Sir david attenborough's voice, had goosebumps. i was absolutely possesed during the entire show.
seriously the best live performance everrrrrrr, no debating necessary
"all my body parts are one as lightning hits my spine, sparkling" is something i tell my singing students to imagine is happening to them. it works miracles!
I didn't really appreciate this song until I saw Biophilia Live. I fucking love this now.
How you dare to dislike this? ART MUSIC AND TECH JOINED TOGETHER TO MAKE MORE ART!
this has to be biophilia`s best song. so powerful, like a thundershock. I dunno if much of the lyrics are too obvious for most people but anyway I imagine she`s by the ocean(as she mentioned waves, wind irregularly striking and barnacles) and is really craving to be struck by a lightning(a dangerous gift sent from the hands of whoever (a god, an angel?) which would be a miracle by itself if she didn't die. but the real miracle would be to revive her wish of loving(because her romantic gene is dominant, and it hungers for union) I imagine another human being being hit by another lightning at the exact time as her so as to consolidate this union. It`s as if the lightning was
her envisioning of a cupid's arrow. Or maybe she's craving to achieve something bigger with the shock. The eerie choir, the tesla, the irregular beat, all too mysterious to be about ordinary human love. Maybe her wish is to become a goddess? She already mentioned electric shocks in Possibly Maybe( "electric shocks, I love them, with you dozen a day, but after a while I wonder where is that love you promised me, where is it?"), and mentions joining a cult("who know what could happen, lottery or car crash, or join a cult?") so perhaps she is doing some magical ritual involving love and shocks. I know it is far-fetched, but I have nothing better to do right now lol.
+Gabriel Santos I've always personally thought that she sings "craving miracles" while referring to the low probability of one being stroke by a lightning. Even though she craves it hardly, it has small chances of happening.
+Gabriel Santos the mixing of the album version is poorly done :(
Yeah, but why would she want to be struck by a lightining? that's the question. and what do romantic gene, romance, and hungering for union have to do with a lightning? how do you tie this together?
I think she's talking about something idealistic or quixotic when she sings that her "romantic gene" is dominant, not trying to evoke an erotic relationship, you know? It makes sense for me, since this union she is craving might be the intersection between nature and technology, one of the main themes in Biophilia. In her own words: "I’ve always had this romantic ideas about uniting different worlds, like uniting nature and techno. It doesn't necessarily have to be opposite."
I guess she's using "thunder" and "lightning" as a metaphor for the strength she needs for such a task (lightning is, after all, one of the strongest forces in nature).
your theory makes more sense.Thanks
Thunderbolt has come to be my favorite song from Biophilia and this particular performance of it puts me in such a trance at times.
I wish she said "I am inviolable" like that in the studio recording! Loooove it.
Bjørk still my favourite. Still true to her path. Excellent.
This is my favorite Björk song.
Can't get enough of this woman's work! What a breathtaking artist.
Te amo björk !
waves irregularly striking
wind stern in my face
thunderstorm, come!
Such great lyrics!
I didnt like this song at first but it grew on me after the second listen.
first I want to say I look up to tesla and I have always been facinated by tesla coils and plasma and for Queen Bjork to use them in a song is amazing.
the voice at 4:35 is just incrediable
A quién se le ocurriria usar bobinas de tesla como instrumento muy brutal!
She is just so amazing !!!!
I got tickets for Hollywood Bowl excited beyond belief. A long long time friend I actually met on Bjork's forum passed away recently , he'll be looking down on that night with a smile. Love you Bjork.
To think I saw her live in 1995 in Paris, I was at the front row she was barely a meter away from me...
Incredible performance. I love the way she looks straight into the camera at the end, almost unsettling!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your great work of art ! We just got your Biophilia App and I can't wait to show it to my litle 3 1/2 years old boy ! :D Thank you, thank you Bjork !
I've never considered myself a Bjork fan, mainly because I couldn't understand much what he says(until recently). But she always gives me the vapors :P
I wish it got shown in one of the videos of this gig, but when I was standing infront of Bjork in the audience in the pause of a song, she made her eyes look all wide and suprised whilst sticking her tongue out. It was the funniest thing!
I was there and this bit was magical! 🎵💜
Amazing as always!!
Why not? out of those numbers, Björk has a sound that's her own and forever changing, and her lyrics hug your soul. For many, like myself, have grown with her music. She's an amazing artist that fully deserves a part of history.
Her concerts are crazy. I have seen her in Mexico and Hollywood
just wonderful. my favs on the album are mutual core, virus, and crystalline (single version). but live, thunderbolt is my fav. i love this video/live representation of the song. björk is an artist in every sense of the word. i listen to her for her art and nothing else.
I love everything that Bjork represents and is.
Stunning and beautiful!
First time I miss a bjork and it had to be this beauty :-(
i can feel the chills running up and down my spine. Biophilia=album of the year.

One, if not, her best song. Love you BJORK!
Amazing rendition of one of my favourite Biophilia tunes. Still killing it, Bjork!
Björk make me so emotional...Thank you so much to give us dis...
Electronic music daughter: Aphex Twin was my dad, Björk was my mother.
I didn’t say I had a simple life 🤪
i need to see the whole live show so bad
AMAIZING!!!!!!!!!!!
A popular fable of the Gallura mountains speak of a shepherd and a wild goat completely in love with each other. But when they went to get married they could not because they were already brothers.
WOW ! Many thanks ! wonderful !!!
The harmonies give me goosebumps, so haunting!
what a pronounce for 'thank you'.. I was craving miracles to björk then i listened you.. thank you..
So. SO. AWESOME.
the bridge to this song is one of her best🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽⚡️⚡️

She is truly an amazing artist and of the greatest of our time for her originality, creativity, innovation, uniqueness. She is one of the most unique voices on this planet and her ambition and desire results in her making musical ventures most wouldn't dare to try or be able to pull off.
I just wish that in my life I'll be able to se her perform her art.Thank you Björk
5 minutes and 39 seconds full of goosebumps
i saw her live in mexico last weekend she is amazing :D
I love Bjork, she's a real artist, and her live performances are never the same as the Albums =)
I love how she stares at lightning at the end of the song like it was a living creature. Can't wait to Paris vids!
I love the little "Thank you" right at the end.
te adoro bjork !! sos mi gran maestra de vida!! siempre y siempre!!

I like the look on the girl's face at 4:06. It's like she's thinking, "That thing looks like its about to blow up"

Amazing, wonderfull. Thank you Bjork. Merci pour ton génie artistique.😍
BJORK IS A REAL RECORDING ARTIST, WHO DOES IT FOR THE LUV OF MUSIC AND SOUND.
Bjork you will always inspire me! When I was a young girl, I looked up to you instead of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera because you were special and a real artist. You inspired me to be the person I am today. Big love to you, Bjork. Keep being amazing :)
Love this!
Phenomenal Björk! I'm also in love for Sacrifice!
amazing
I'ts Wonderful! There's so much power in this performance! Björk, the Queen of AvantGarde Pop!
After watching some singers doing live performances... Seeing Björk in the middle of lightning and an amazing choir makes me imagine that finally I'm seeing a true live performance.
