i think non designer are completely fine, people just like to overpay
This video is meant to be sarcasm.
Great video!
You had me going at first. I was yelling at you through the screen…. LOL!! 😂
Haha thanks!
Gone are the days I was crazy about designer glasses. If you are using multi focal lenses you just go for glasses with good nose bridge Width, frame height, frame width, temple Length etc.
Quality is more important than a name!
What are the glasses at 2:38 please?
Your videos are great! I learned so much about eyewear from your videos, especially understanding the quality, branding, etc.
Thanks Ray! I'm glad that I've helped you
What’s the name of the glasses you are wearing in the beginning of the video? I love how they look and I think I want to get them
You can purchase them from us! Just email me via rob@thespectaclefactory.com and I will arrange everything for you. They are the Rikhard by Reykjavik Eyes
Hi Robert. Yes I agree with you that whichever glasses you pick should be for you personally to feel great in. You are not buying for everyone else. Yvonne
💯
What glasses do you wear and what model? Because I can’t find the tinted glasses
It's the Reykjavik Eyes Rikhard - email us if you want a pair! hello@thespectaclefactory.com
I can't find that first glasses made from titanium the brand name is hard ...what is it?
Reykjavik Eyes?
I can speak for both cheap and expensive, honestly I have a pair of 10 year old Gucci frames, a cartier frame but since in my area (Milwaukee Wisconsin) people are being killed over their glasses here so I have been daily wearing a cheap pair of Zennis and when we go on dates or leave the city I'll wear my more expensive frames. :/ It's sad people are being robbed and beat for some frames.
I should add that I paid $60 for the Zenni glasses but honestly the feel of the Cartier or Gucci frames are amazing and it's really a confidence booster the Zennis are like your work lounge type not as great of feeling but gets the job done.
That's sad :(
It's definitely good to have a 'utility' pair, although maybe you should upgrade yours just a little ;)
@@thespectaclefactory lol I love vintage frames. I have a bunch of old designer frames. But after ur videos I've been looking for a stye like urs
I literally had to look through the comments to figure out this guy was being sarcastic lol
I only picked up the sarcasm when he talked about cheap mass produced famous glasses being better than handcrafted obscure ones because he had such a serious tone and demeanor throughout. I have had Prodesign Denmark prescription glasses with a thin light frame for a month now and my only complaint is them sliding forward so I may need to get them adjusted but I'm still debating if it's too negligible to adjust them.
Haha, I'm naturally very sarcastic so have had plenty of practice. Thanks for subscribing and ProDesign are nice glasses!
@@thespectaclefactory Yeah! I definitely like them also! Pretty nice for the price and they're my first prescription glasses. I just found out at the end of March that I have mild astigmatism causing the tiniest bit of nearsightedness so fine objects at a distance are slightly fuzzy for me which is extremely close to yours which you mentioned in your video on astigmatism. If I recall our prescriptions are nearly identical which is funny and cool. Although the glasses don't make a night and day difference, especially being such low prescription (basically -1 and even less), it is noticeable and appreciable. I don't technically have to wear them all the time but I do just for the quality of life improvement and because I learned to love glasses as both a fashion accessory and functional tool.
Enjoying the videos and they have certainly made me think differently about how I choose my next glasses. Do you do consultations on line as I live nowhere near the store?
Hi Mark, yes I often do remote consultations for people, I can suggest a few frames for you and just return the ones you don't like. My email is rob@thespectaclefactory.com if you are interested.
What percentage % tint are you wearing and what color tint are you wearing?! Absolutely awesome
25% Gradient green with 10% rose at the bottom. Thank you! I appreciate it
This video deserves more thumbs up, I was Very confused at first but I like it. Honestly I do own a pair of $150 sunglasses and they are By Far the best glasses I've ever own. But I got them because I love the style and the look, and I know Oakley has exceptional lenses. But I feel like people hate on the price tag and it makes me self- conscious. Did I pay that much because they're worth that, I thought yes, but maybe I paid that much because it's Oakley and they charge whatever they want... Either way I do love them, but I wanna learn more, I appreciate the video
Thank you 🙏
What is the model of the eco pair...? They look fantastic...
It's awesome. It's called Sarek. eco-eyewear.com/collections/optical/products/sarek-int?variant=37832808562868
You can purchase them from us if you like... Just email me via rob@thespectaclefactory.com
What is your opinion of Kering eyewear?
Check this video: czcams.com/video/pvCsZDibcTE/video.html
while i dont support luxotica i do like oakley.unlike other brands oakley dont just stamp a logo.truebridge does work and glasses are extreamely comfortable.also oakley military contracts mean they are genuinely strong if in range, and as someone whos squashed a fair few, stand up well in standard range.i will say i had quicksilvers in youth that shed the rubber temple skin and online discounts that were better but picking out things like TI and spring hinges help.picking either end of a brands selection has risks and you shouldnt base purchase on any one factor but reaserch what your getting.
Sarcasm was almost too much good job we know you. So where do you stand with Nike sports sunnies? Sadly I think the customer was trying too hard to be seen out with the brand. If you meet someone who is very wealthy they have an under stated look where you need to know what they are wearing look at someone like Richard Branson the next time he's interviewed.
Yeah that's very true.
Nike frames are excellent for sports.
With basically everything, you get what you pay for. You don’t have to be wealthy to own fine sunglasses, you may have to budget, save up to buy them, but if you want high quality and wicked style in sunglasses ( who doesn’t? ) if you know, you know.
💯
My two favorite glasses brands are MYKITA and Lunor, they are exceptional quality and are both hand made in Germany. MYKITA glasses are similar to Reykjavík Eyes, they are hingeless and very flexible. Lunor glasses are my go-to brand for rimless models. They have a timeless design. I have glasses and sunglass from both brands that I have worn almost daily for 6+ years.
Both great brands! Nice choices ❤️
@@thespectaclefactory thank you! I would love a pair of the Reykjavík eyes gold edition. I sent you an email, can you ship to the US?
Yep! I've many clients in the US wearing RE frames. I'd love to help you too.
@@thespectaclefactory great, I’ll look forward to your email reply!
In terms of logos, I like a small, discreet logo of any brand, makes people kinda wonder at first where you got your nice glasses from, because logos in your face like Versace or D&G is a desperate status show-off, which ain’t classy.
And its not just applicable for spectacles, it's applicable for everything.
True!
I'm sorry but I don't want to feel like I have glasses on my face.
Very witty. Cleverly done. All great glasses but personally my next glasses may have to be from Eco . Love the clip on versatility. Definitely enjoyed your video though.
The way the clip is so seamless makes them amazing. And you can have multiple clips for multiple purposes...
Well done and thanks for the info on the independent brands!
Thanks and you're welcome 😁
Ace! I totally agree!
Non-Designer glasses vs Luxottica.... 🤓
Lol
What if someone needs hypoallergenic plastic glasses that have nickel free hinges? are there budget friendly brands available? :)
Not that I'm aware of, I'm sorry
As a near sighted individual, I just want to be able to see... I don't care about the brand, if the build quality is good then we good.
Makes real sense 👍 Wear it for you not for the world.
💯
i cant tell if youre serious lol. every pair i have had no branding non designer, you take good care of your stuff it doesnt wear out. defects happen within 3 years if you take care of them. never had any problems
Nah I was being sarcastic at the beginning!
5:40 That's very very very sad 😐
Definitely
Now you would be forgiven for thinking that the non designer glasses on display here are fairly cheap, as they are non designer. Well you would be wrong 😂😂 Reykjavik Eyes for instance, £400 for the frame. Yeah I'll stick with my £125 designers. 👍
The video was intended to highlight quality rather than price 🙂
“Designers”*
Actually big screaming logos for me is a telltale sign that glasses are crap.
my point exactly
I buyed 40 year old great quality eyeglasses for 10€ in an market now i just going to get my prescription lenses, they dont have a brand since 40 years ago they had been made in soviet union 😅
Cool!
the argument doesn't really stand for these "no name brands" cuz they ain't cheap at all. they actually cost more than the name brands since they never go on sale.
@jojotwice8918 At Specsavers UK you can buy frames from £15 absolutely nothing wrong with them, I've had 'cheap' glasses from Asda Nike brand, 2 pair full coatings varifocal £160, still 2 years on both in fine fettle, admittedly I don't try to pull the legs into a 180° position.
This is a good video.
Thank you!
Very true 😊
💯

trying to break glasses to show they are trash but had an epic fail lol how embarrassing
That's the joke.
@@thespectaclefactory sorry to say but that's a really bad joke.
@@AkbarSnackbar Sorry to say but it seems to have gone over your head
@@thespectaclefactory sorry to say but It seems lots of people make silly videos for views lol
@@AkbarSnackbar put some respect on his name he makes good videos
Not a good review too many variables that contradicts the integrity of this video
OK, thanks for the feedback
THE TRUTH? Why not start by labelling the video with it's actual content. It should read Designer Glasses vs Designer Glasses. Mind you never let the truth get in the way of of good story as the say, judging by all the people lapping this bullshit up.
Why are you so angry?
You speak non sense: who like to have logo? Make advertising for free? Who like to feel all day there glasses? Who like to feel them? Who doesn't like to have two in one? So don't think you know the truth... Your point of you, and only yours...
That lady deserved a D&G. Some Billboard specimen.
🤣
I personally focus on the lens options more then frames, I recently brought two pair of glasses and most of the cost went towards the lens. I rather have thin, water replant, Anti glare , anti scratch & photo chromatic (in beautiful colours) this kind of price me out; for the moment from higher end brands because lens are costly, unless reglaze them which have thought of doing. I do agree however that choosing correct the frame is very important . I do love your content its very informative and helpful for us the consumer particularly regrading different lens combinations. I have learn lot from your channel, particularly regrading lens makers. I have wonder do you guys do reglazing of old frames?
Mr Spec Factory..you once recently emailed me a quote on rimless eyeglasses w/transition polycarbonate...and I cannot find your email address so that I may ask a question about eyeglasses. Paolo/Paul...in USA .1st TU & 2nd kindly reply here or if you remember the rimless quote, I don't care to leave my gmail address on this comment forum. BTW I subscribed.
Email me again! rob@thespectaclefactory.com
Nice that you said this is sarcasm, I did not notice it before lol. Well the fact is my pocket is not deep enough to purchase expensive glasses🥲
