    Like always good video Robert and I agree with your assessment it really depends if you want the weightless almost like there's nothing on your face feel then go with Reykjavik but if you really want something out there with more flair masunaga is a very good choice. I really like what you are doing for the glasses industry here in YT. I was looking in your videos, but did not find, (correct me if I am wrong) video about, is it worth buying a quality frames and make a tinted lenses, just to wear them as sunglasses. No prescription, just put an AR coating and colour on your lenses instead of buying sunglasses just make them with Zeiss or Hoya lenses. I am planning to do that, but is it worth it, because the price is jumping high.

    Hi Robert, This video makes it more relevant for me to ask you one question, I have been thinking of. Given a tough choice of buying only 2 frames/ brands in Japan and made in Japan, what will be your choices? I’m highly impressed with Masunaga, Matsuda, Dita etc. but I can probably trust your judgement of choosing the 2 brands/ frames which are quintessentially Japanese in terms of creaftsmanship and material. Hoping to hear your thoughts.

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  Před 2 měsíci

      I would say the best in the world. I do a lot of research on eyewear and travel all over to do so. JMM are beautiful, but do they give you anything beyond what Masunaga does I'm not sure. They certainly aren't as comfortable. Also, very few Cartier are titanium.

    • @natureins4644
      @natureins4644 Před 2 měsíci

      @@thespectaclefactory To start with I have about 30+ frames ranging from Lindberg to Maybach and Chrome Hearts.I've been wearing eyewear for many years. With this out of the way, I can see your logic. To answer your question about JMM providing beyond what Masunaga or Reykjavik Eyes can do? , I'd say resounding YES to due to the variety of JMM styles that just can't be obtained from them. In titanium JMM has frames like 1980, which is a very nice navigator frame, dramatically different from the Oatman, a midwest inspired frame. 1980 or Reynold are a very lightweight titanium frames, which are extremely easy to wear. (JMM also has some heavier bolder frames that are not quite my taste, Perhaps these ones you are referring to when you say that "certainly aren't as comfortable"?) In the way 1980 is designed with subtly varying the depth of the surfaces and shine level that is pure sophistication. Can Masunaga build something like this- for sure they can as they have been making frames since 1905. Do they have any current model that blends the modern art design as successfully as JMM?
