That’s what I want to know. I understand her perspective from my dad, who grew up on a farm. But most people aren’t going to get this and it’s ridiculous to put that kind of thing out there in written form.

Two turning points for me-
I was not horrified by euthanizing the dog or the goat. It’s farm life.
Then the news came out about her torrid affair with a married man.
I don’t endorse the affair but affairs happen.
There are two common themes with both of these topics…
Lack of Wisdom
Wisdom would have told her it wasn’t a story that she needed to share in a world full of pet lovers, even if she felt justified euthanizing the animals. You don’t need to put it in a book to prove that you’re tough.
The affair= no wisdom. You are just a scandal waiting to happen.
What we need most in the White House are leaders with supreme wisdom.

Shooting the dog may not have been the best way to deal with the problem, publishing it in a book is most certainly not the best thing to do. President Trump needs a VP who can replace him if something happens to him. I don't think she is Presidential material.

Being a politician shouldn't be a career
She will be never considered for any job in the WH. Pet killers to the general public is worst than killing babies. She might not even be able to stay in place as governor. It does two things. First, many people have pets for medical issues, emotional issues, for companionship. Those people form bonds with their pet thats stronger than to most humans, and when an elected official kills a pet it totally unbalances how those people view the murderer. Because many people see their pets as human. Secondly it makes people judge that person's view on life. They will think why should I vote for this person who has no compassion or feelings. If they feel this way about their own pet over being trained, then what do they think of me? She's done. VP? You want to make me laugh?

Well if you raised on a farm, the life was very different than today's my great grandfather did euthanize the sick dogs or sick cats, even killed cows pigs for food. It was he past many today's generation never been taught to see it that way.

And she took the dog in from another rancher who was having issues with it so she was giving it another chance. I used to do animal rescue work so I was invested in saving animal lives but I also grew up in a city and don’t have a clue about running a ranch or farm. I also witnessed people running “no-kill” shelters who admitted that sometimes animals at these shelters were euthanized. And for decades there were many animal shelters that gassed animals in chambers. Thankfully, the majority of states in this country have banned them. Honestly, I can’t watch Old Yeller ever again. It was absolutely traumatizing as a child but I think it’s a quick way to go.

We had a neighbor over 3ac away with loose vicious dogs. One of them mauled a child walking down my driveway (she needed tutoring). The idiot owners gave the dog to another family, with a 3yo child who is going to require plastic surgery on her face.
Sometimes you just HAVE to put a deranged animal down. City or Rural--it's despicable to surrender a dog or cat without crucial details. NOBODY is going to tell the truth at the pound. Nobody is EVER going to confess that the dog just didn't come out right or that the 12yo was sticking pencils in its ears, or that the abuser wore AXE deodorant so now the cat berserks out when it smells anything remotely the same. I worked with the Humane Society and ASPCA since the 1970s. Another dog couldn't go to a smoker's home, evidently someone was putting cigarettes out on her, so she started to snap at her new owners--smokers. I can go on and on about this. Family has puppy for 7mos, all of a sudden the 5yo develops "allergies." Yeah, allergies to a dog that isn't taking the 5yo's shit anymore.
