Playing with these chess bots I want to add in some details.
1. It seems like the Hikaru bot has been varying in strength. At one point it beat the maximum engine, Mittens, and play Magnus with ease.
For reference, it takes Stockfish 15 at depth 9 to beat them. It took DEPTH 12 stockfish to beat Hikaru. Which is about a difference of ~200 elo.
2. Hikaru isn't the only bot. Playing against the Fabiano bot and it drew with the max engine every time in 16 matches.
3. Play Magnus seems more likely to play as Magnus in a classical game. Although I do suspect that if the bot were to play Magnus during the WCC, I'd suspect the bot would lose, slightly.
I am curious if Hikaru is actually weaker than the bot in a classical game. I would love to see a match in that case. I have the feeling Hikaru would be the stronger

He’s already a good player, he’s like 1000 elo or 2000 elo or something really high. He’s not technically pro but he streams a lot of online blitz and is definitely in the top 100 online.

These Hikaru bot and Magnus bot dudes seem pretty good at chess, they should go pro
From a statistical perspective (the ELO is a statistical measure), the draw was the most likely to happen in a 3000 vs 2850 match, especially if 2850 moves the white pieces. However, something more interesting to analyze is playing about 1000 times alternating colors and checking if the hypothetical ELO is really into the program, or simply ever wins the same bot (theoretically, the 2850 bot must win a few times in 1000 matches, but, to my knowledge, big blunders are not considered in these bots).
I remember that it was much fun watching Hikaru ranting when Komodo smashed Hikaru in 10 games (that picture of the komodo vs Hikaru video where Hikaru's jaw was dropped was also hilarious :D). This game was very boring though; watching two strong bots playing out a perfect dry draw. While Stockfish or Leila often try to unbalance and complicate the game, making crazy sacrifices when they play somewhat inferior engines.

It's interesting he revealed the reason why he hasn't played 1.b3 against Magnus all these years.
He said every time he played some non standard setup, Magnus took advantage of that.
And I have wondered many times why he never plays 1.b3 against him! He obviously thinks it would go south! That's actually really interesting to hear. I've always thought Hikaru is the 1.b3 Goat, and he has such a deep understanding and experience on these particular setups that no-one could stop him, not even Magnus. But he obviously thinks the opposite!

Magnus will often remember his opponents games better than they do. Very hard to surprise him with non standard openings.
Every time someone plays against Magnus with non standard, Magnus always opt for exchanges, simplify the board and drag it to an end game.

@GMHikaru, it's called an Arabian Mate due to the origins of the mating pattern - being the oldest checkmating pattern in the game, being mentioned in ancient Arabic manuscripts. It is derived from an even older version of chess, before the game migrated to Europe, where the knight and rooks were the most powerful pieces on the board.
Hikaru is learning from Levy. First we get Hikaru trying to emulate Gotham's enthusiasm. Now we get Hikaru copying the Gotham pause. Maybe next he should start sacrificing...the rook.

Bots matches are fun, but it's always reworked stockfish, which is forced to make some mistakes. I prefer pure engine battles, but those are impossible for humans to even comprehend.

On the internet there are many "coaches" and or those that think they know and understand how chess works, but listen to most of them carefully and you will have your doubts!. Hikaru is different there are real substance here in his videos!(For instance he is very clear in explaining in what exactly an advantage of position consists of, and just as important what to do about it!.) I enjoy his videos!.👌

I suspect that Hikaru, in addition to being currently the best chess streamer imo, has potential to become one of the best streamers... (which he is probably aware of)
It's not just about having the talent and knowledge, it's also about charisma, ability to communicate and engage with a larger audience, having the perfect balance between entertainer and informative without overdoing it (*cough*GothamChess"cough*), and he already has that. He only needs to put out more content which is what he's already doing anyway.
Maybe in a few years, after he stops playing competitively, we'll bring even wider audience if he decides to include variety streams, but absolutely doesn't need to, now, in my opinion!
