Bro you're gonna be so famous one day you'll be on NHK
5:50 Howdy from saudi y'all
Holyshit
yoooooooo
Yooooo oneguy lets go!
The mexican representation being goku is just perfect
3:35 Fun fact: the first kanji of 伊太利 is 伊. If you look carefully, on the left side there is the katakana イ (i), the first letter of "Italia"; on the right side there is this thing 尹, that clearly represents fork and spaghetti.
I guess it's a good mnemonic. But it's obviously not true
For Greece, the characters 希臘 likely come from the Chinese translation of the name as it is Romanized as "xila" making it close to the original Greek name of Hellas.
yooo χαίρεται μπρο μ :) κ' εγώ απο ελλάδα- τι ωραία μαθαίνουν και άλλη Έλληνες Ιαπωνικά απο εδώ!
The name of America is actually very similar in Chinese. I guess you already know it's written the same in Kanji and Chinese, but in standard Pinyin it's "mei guo", which... Yeah 'Merica.
Funnily enough it also translates to "Beautiful country" which is nice.
With the UK it's "ying guo" (England), but translates to "brave country" or similar.
Edit: when you mentioned the japanese pronunciation of Germany you should know that Germany is "Deutschland", the transliteration would be "doitsu"
FYI These countries name in Mandarin (Name is transcribed slightly different in Taiwan and China, here's Taiwan version)
I'm gonna use Tongyong pinyin for reading since that's the only Chinese romanisation I know

As a Taiwanese, 尊敬します。
And sadly I only knew hanyu pinyin😂
One day somebody will recognize Trinidad...surely...
i'd kinda like a video on kanji for common words that are... needlessly complicated (looking at you, candle, rose, and depression)
A fuckass kanjis video is always great yes :D
Tho tbf depression wasn't that common of a word until these last 2 decades
Gensokyo
Let's play some danmaku
My favorite country
I find it funny how in japanese america is 米国 literally means rice country while in chinese its 美国 which meana beautiful country. Knowing the circumatances you would probably expect its the opposite
Will you ever make that video on conjugation?
I'm sick of learning nouns 🦧
Fine I'll put it on the next vote
i don't remember who said it but some youtuber said to never think of japanese conjugations as such but as a connection of two different verbs or something like that with corresponding last hana shifts, is that true
@@andrii7873 yes. but also no. at the end of the day, this is a game of semantics.
what matters is, each verb form (potential, passive etc) has repeating patterns, and you gotta learn them and how they attach to verbs. doesn't matter what you call them.
@@andrii7873 personally I think of conjugation and particles as connecting to the main words, because it makes the grammar clearer
Wanna go see a movie?
映画を見に行きませんか?
eiga wo mi ni iki masen ka?
eigawo mini ikimasen ka?
In the first version there are 7 'words', in the second there are 4 and the "wo" is connected to the "eiga" to show it's the object. It's kind of hard to grasp the grammar as an English speaker, but when you treat the を like a suffix, it makes it clearer to me. Same thing with the "-masen" and "ni", even they're technically separate words, I think it's more useful to think of it as a suffix. And in conversation they'll sound very connected
That's just the way I use when I study but there's nothing wrong with separating them either.
Just wanted to give my 2 cents lol
@@cottbdbdbbd I like those two cents a lot. You should make a video about your whole dollar.
hi singaporean here
our nation is called 新嘉坡 because of hokkien actually, and it was transliterated from sin-ka-por to singapore
8:01 eyyyyy banger outro song, i love the millionaire waltz!!!
No 捷克?(チェコ), sad, but still a nice vid~
funny thing is, since uploading this video Czech is #38
Thank you for your analysis.
Kinda funny that 米国 got imported to China and now it's the slang term for the US (read as mǐgúo) even though they already have their official equivalent 美国 (měigúo) 'pretty country'. Japan needs to come full circle and adopt 美国 as a slang term!
Guy in Qatar here. Got no money, but I love your lessons! 💙
This man is gon be famous and Ill be the one to say i was there
hugs from brazil
7:06 greeting from Taiwan~
I really wish they start to use kanjis on everything, since the kanjis Japanese used for countries, basically recognizable even if I only knew Mandarin, lol.
That was a glorious kangaroo. Respect for knowing Australia's independence year.
Romanian here and damn i didn't expect Romania to be in the video, ty for that
It would be nice if these kanji actually represented things related to the country. I am from Poland and still wonder why is my country wave and orchid 😂
that kangaroo drawing is RAW
Also im the thai viewer Hiiiii
5:00 My country in the middle. This channel has so few watchers right now I might be the only guy from Finland watching

Well, I already know how 烏克蘭 is written, so that's cool
Many are borrowed from Chinese i guess, so the kanji doesnt represent the pronunciation
