Just love the segment 12:19 - 12:53! That was the original music for Dr. Boris Balinkoff's initial introduction as he rode his boat through the lagoon & unto the shore. Especially enjoy that distinct musical sound at 12:39 that was played simultaneously when Vito Scotty raised his arms up horizontally just before disembarking from the boat. To me, this is one of the greatest 35 second music videos that I've ever seen! From the episode "The Friendly Physician".
MEE TOO! The music is great. I grew up watching 60s American TV and it is the best decade as far as music and production quality is concerned. Didnt care much for 70s TV. With a few exceptions.
13:11 is spooky, even today. But there is one piece I didn't hear, an example of which was when they were sword fighting on the pirate ship dream sequence.
Never really noticed (as a kid in the late 60s and 70s) how much xylophone was used in all the situation music for Gilligan's Island. Maybe because I've gotten into Frank Zappa so much the last few years. 🤷♂️ Lolol
Terrific opening, and a great compilation job. My only regret is that you left out what I think of as "Mr. Howell's Theme" -- that jazzy number that came on when Howell tried to connive Gilligan into giving him back the deed to the oil well.
3:00 Other than the theme song, THIS piece is what I think of for Gilligan's Island music! The 'unbalanced' music! Gilligan fishing & losing the fight with a big tuna!
I'm also quite surprised that Ginger Grant and Mary Anne Somers never wore the same thing the Alley Oop Ooola did. Such as wear the red or blue loincloth dress with a left shoulder sling as the 10,000 B.C. Moovian cave woman. You know very well that I'm referring this to the 2 scientists: Dr. Wonmug and Oscar who used their time machine to transport Alley Oop from out of 10,000 B.C. Moo.
The hijinx riffs ,meanwhile on another island brass tour de force and all the subtle whispy background accompaniments are why it's on here and we're commenting.Like the skipper said,"It's Corona!"
Did you ever notice that in the dream when Gilligan dreams everyone is old? Even the voice on the radio sounded old, so I guess EVERYONE was old in that dream.
The music at 3:04 mark. Thats the music when Gilligan (or another castaway) is doing something goofy and I've searched for three decades for a sound byte!!
The music was instrumental to the show's success!

I wish someone could find the actual original studio recordings of the score - I'd get it in a heartbeat
Same here.
@@BobDenverWolrabDhahcir Me too!!

I loved that signature tune at 8:47 that signaled the end of each Season 1 episode.
keeping on with the memories with the show every Tuesday night right before Hogan's heroes.
13:11 is spooky, even today. But there is one piece I didn't hear, an example of which was when they were sword fighting on the pirate ship dream sequence.
It's one of my favorite cues from the show, and from one of my favorite episodes. I was really hoping to hear that one here.
I know the one you are referring to. It was also played when Gilligan rescued the Polynesian woman from drowning in season 3.
Yes! This was the one Ive been looking for too!
Maybe it's in part 1?
So many sounds, tones and instruments used in this music by John Williams shows up in ‘Lost in Space’ and other shows that he did music for.

I think the music at 17:53 was the 2 Cosmonauts sitting by they're capsule and Gilligan threw a couple things in the jungle to make them chase it
Love the pilot closing theme at 22:52.
2:55 was used in the pilot episode when their raft was surrounded by sharks
Terrific opening, and a great compilation job. My only regret is that you left out what I think of as "Mr. Howell's Theme" -- that jazzy number that came on when Howell tried to connive Gilligan into giving him back the deed to the oil well.
the music at 15:11 was when Gilligan inhaled gas that they got trapped in a bottle, to make a blow torch to cut the phone cable that washed ashore
3:00 Other than the theme song, THIS piece is what I think of for Gilligan's Island music! The 'unbalanced' music!
Gilligan fishing & losing the fight with a big tuna!
17:50 Nyet Nyet Not Yet. Gilligan is trying to distract the Cosmonauts so he can sneak into the capsule and switch out one of the vodka bottles.

@13:11 is one of my favorite incidental music pieces of all the sitcoms.
Awesome in 2017!!!
Did you ever notice that in the dream when Gilligan dreams everyone is old? Even the voice on the radio sounded old, so I guess EVERYONE was old in that dream.
11:43 you knew something was up!
The music at 3:04 mark. Thats the music when Gilligan (or another castaway) is doing something goofy and I've searched for three decades for a sound byte!!
"Oh, Gilligan!"
Allirog Gorilla poor Gilly boy.
Great! Where is the spider song?
GINGER's 2 Season One signature tunes, especially the version by John Williams? Ditto for MrHowell's from Season One, also by Williams?
NATIVE GUARD: Bahulla humba! Bahulla humba!
NATIVE CHIEF: Bahulla humba, WHAT?
(One of my favorite lines from the entire run of the series!)
I agree. I always laugh when I hear Stanley Adams do this, PLUS when he snaps both fingers simultaneously & points to indicate exiting.
Yes definitely, to me this was THE funniest line out of ALL the Gilligan's Island episodes !
What about ... 1 Skipper, 2 Skipper...
3 Professor 4.
5 Professor 6 Professor 7 Skipper more...
luv
Me too
13:04
14:52
14:52 actually comes from It's About Time but like many IAT cues, it was tracked into Gilligan episodes
I so wish they could remove the laughter…
Yes, the audience needs to be hit on the head with a Skipper's cap!
Me too, but then again, the canned laughter makes these tunes work so well! 😁
13:40
I think I hear some prog rock origins In here (Rush?)
