I named my daughter Zion because of this song. She was born with so many health issues and her name gave her and me the strength we needed to persevere. She is a senior in college and will be 26 in September. Thank you Miss Hill for the inspiration ❤️

And that was her career. She chose Zion, and to "Start a Family", OVER her career. She "knew" 2 things are way way more important, than the other. God, her FAMILY. I was in my last semester of college and I was on the road to become a pop artist. I had just finished my EP when I found out I was pregnant. Many family members expected me to abort my child but I chose to give him life. When I was 6 months pregnant. My son’s father passed away. So I was having him alone.
My family played this song at my baby shower. They made a beautiful bird cage and each member marched up and gave me written messages/wishes on butterfly shaped pieces of paper that i put in the cage. I still have some of my butterfly wishes 10 years later.

I was pregnant when this song came out with a song and I was young and if I had him it would change my life in a big way because the struggle would have been even more for me but I chose him. I’ve always protected him and indeed the struggle was real and he is now 25 and it still is. But I wouldn’t change it. No one will ever understand the choice I made my struggle so I cherish this song and and cry peacefully when I hear it. It’s our song. His name is not Zion, it it Christopher.
