I purchased a regular version of this chair for my home office and it was a back saver for sure. Its not for everyone, and its pricey (I got mine used) but it works really well.

I feel like most office chairs are comfortable for an hour or even a 7 hour work day, but I’d love to hear how this compares to your other chairs for 12 hour days. I think this is a more common reality for many of us who now work and play at the same computer all day.
I agree. I spent 12 hours at my desk yesterday and because of it I am now looking for a better chair.
Something else you have to realize is how is the comfort after a few years. People buy used Herman Miller chairs that are 20 years old and still feel amazing. My friend has the embody and I have the secret lab omega and I’m buying an embody soon I’m just waiting on the color I want to come into the local dealer. We have had our chairs for about the same time and even though my omega is still very comfortable I don’t think it is holding up anywhere close to as well as his embody.
There are two knobs you twist to adjust the back, and I think y'all are missing that
They are. You twist the height knob for lumbar. And push up or down the blue inner knob for height adjustment. Tension for lean is on the other side of the chair.

It can take time to dial in the Herman to your satisfaction...like you say give it time and play around with it, remember you have been sitting in a chair that isn't good for your posture for two years.

Look at that... loved the ending with the guitar test! As a musician (guitarist) and software developer, I'm trying to find a chair that is great for my back, and at the same time, the arm could be retracted/pulled back/something, so that I can just play the guitar sitting comfortably, and not having to side-sit or sit at the front as you had to. Let's find that chair!! :D
Can people stop saying it's a gaming chair ? It's the same embody with some extra bolstering. The chair came out in 2008.

No one ever wants to invest money into a chair or a bed. They would rather spend more money over less time and be frustrated.

twist the front nob where the height adjustment is to adjust the lumbar. the back nob is more for the upper back
Nope, the front knob is only for the recline spring tension :(
nice! What you should have is a carpet under the chair that makes it not so easily to move on the floor. This way you get more push from the foot rest to your back!
This is the only chair I've found that I can sit in for more that 15 minutes without my back hurting. I have a very bad lower back.

Lmk how you like it I'm on the fence of getting one or. Only thing I'm kind of assuming is people are mistaking these high end chairs to be extremely comfortable for the price when I think it's just meant to keep you're posture right which does not always equal comfort.

I bought my logitech embody for 1100$ shipped to my door brand new! For that price its worth it!
I'm gunna get the regular Aeron with the 15% off for their work from home sale. The gaming ones aren't part of the sale. If I don't like it I'll swap to the Embody. They also said that if I didn't like it that Herman Miller will Honor the Sale in regard to a replacement even if the sale is over.
Thankful I have friends that can test products out like this. I am glad you looked at this one and found that it's not all that based on the price of the chair. I would take the Omega chair over that one. Good video though and GREAT information.

We spend 6-8 hours sleeping. Most Jobs have you sitting for 6-8 hours a day. So if you don't retire until say 60 (I'm 40 and I'm not gonna be able to retire at 60 if the economy keeps going this way...) YOU LITERALLY HAVE SPENT 2/3RDS OF THAT TIME SITTING OR LAYING DOWN. Posture is VERY IMPORTANT. MY POINT: You spend 2/3rds of your life laying down or sitting. We don't flinch at spending "big money" on our Mattress, IT ONLY MAKES SENSE TO SPEND "BIG MONEY" ON A CHAIR THAT WILL NOT CAUSE BACK PROBLEMS!
i think, this needs more testing but in my case i was hesitating between aeron and embody. lest just see what you think about this chair in a few weeks

Ergohuman Computer Chairs are still the best in my view. Functionality, durability, aesthetically, quality and affordability (Not Cheap though but worth the price). Comes with leg rest and adjustable back rest as well. I went for the mesh ones for the humid weather in Singapore and I could also easily wash it once every few months for cleanliness.

nope, that changes the tension/strength of the recline

I never understood gaming chairs... it emulates horrible posture by curving your thoracic in, shoulder slouched, and even the leather seats, just sweat absorbant. odd. Glad to see ergonomic being encouraged with gaming chairs

My brother has had the IKEA Markus chair for years now and it's a pretty good chair especially for what it costs. I have a nice leather office chair from a higher end furniture store for maybe 10 years now and that's still feels and looks great. I literally live in the state where Herman Miller is and never wanted to buy their chairs, even that Eames Lounge is kind of meh, several friends have them and I just don't think it's that great, I have a way better recliner than that.

I never get why people are upset with this chair's price.
What did you pay for your bed? Probably over 1000. You lay in that for hours. With us currently working at home and some of us being day-long gamers and streamers, or maybe video editors and content creators, we need the best of the best to make sure we have no more problems at the end of the line. You pay for the premium quality, same as you would do with your bed.
Just kinda wanted to get that off my chest. I see way too many people hammering the chair for being the price it is. But, you wouldn't cheap out on a bed that you sleep on all night, right? Then all day you should have a good chair too, unless you want free back problems 🙃

@@MikeWat when you buy the chair, you are buying more than just the product. The price covers the R&D that went into designing the chair, you are also paying for the 12 year warranty. My previous $200 high-back leather (more like fake leather/vinyl) office chair had a 1yr limited warranty and hurt my back after year 2. I ended up keeping it 10 years, but had to sit on a pillow - and it still hurt my back. After my wife sat in it briefly, and she said " oh my God how do you sit in this thing all day!? No wonder you have back issues." I researched and bought the HM. I sit at my desk 8 to 10 hours everyday (5-days a week). After buying my Embody, my back doesn't hurt anymore. Yes, $1,500 is a lot to spend. It cost more than my first car. But it was a lifesaver when it came to reducing my back pain.
