    Yes, they removed the next% naming from tempo, vaporfly and alphafly on multiple regions. My guess is they are probably working on a new racer type of shoe that will be exclusively named Next% [Insert fast name]. For the vaporfly 3 I'm getting a lot of mixed opinions about it. Some say its softer some say its stiffer. Some people saying its no longer for 5-10K some people saying its still versatile.

    The funny thing is Kelvin Kiptum broke the agreement with Chinese Qiaodan and wore Next% 2 for London (probably he is not Nike athlete and could not get access to other shoes). It would be interesting to see if he can break the world record wearing Next%3 or *Alphafly 3 in his next Marathon.

    Really loving the Vaporfly 3 and I've had the Vaporfly 2 for a while now. To me, the Vaporfly 3 is a huge upgrade over the Vaporfly 2. The VF2 is narrow, firm, and stiff but I've been able to make it work for speed workouts and races up to 10K. It's not a shoe I want to go longer in. I've already taken the VF3 on multiple runs on half-marathon and longer distances and my feet (especially the forefoot) and legs still feel fresh afterwards. It's an absolute joy to run in. I don't feel that way with the VF2. The VF2 is good but not a shoe I particularly enjoy running in.
    The VF3 actually reminds me of running in the Prime X Strung (my favorite long run trainer) but is much lighter, faster, and more nimble. For races, it'll definitely be the Vaporfly 3. I also have the Adios Pro 3, which I like very much but find the upper and lacing a hassle to deal with, and the Endorphin Pro 3, which just doesn't seem to fit my feet well and the characteristics of the PWRRUN PB not to my liking compared to the ZoomX and Lightstrike Pro. The VF3 has exceeded my expectations. It addressed all the things I didn't like about the Vaporfly 2 and has its own unique feel and ride - super fast but also very comfortable, bouncy and soft yet still very propulsive and responsive. Love it.

    • @kalvin.
      @kalvin. Před rokem +1

      This was my conclusion as well. 2’s have aggressiveness that’s fun but not comfortable. 3’s to me fall between the 2 and the Alphafly. I could and look forward to trying them out over the marathon distance.

    • @alexkhan2000
      @alexkhan2000 Před rokem +1

      @@kalvin. Yes, the VF2 can be exhilarating when you turn on the afterburner, but it's hard to keep that up over HM distance or longer. :) I'm looking forward to trying out the AF3.

      Would you say v3 is better than the v1 . I use alpha v1 for marathon distance. How do v3 compare, thanks 👍

    • @alexkhan2000
      @alexkhan2000 Před rokem +1

      @@garethmorgan2383 Sorry, I haven't tried the v1 or the Alphafly (v1 or v2). I do prefer the VF3 over Adios Pro 3 and Endorphin Pro 3 that I also have. They are all very good but, for me, the balance between lightweight, speed, propulsion, bouncy softness, protection, and smoothness in the ride is ideal.
      But, I understand that it all depends on the runner and that one shoe isn't going to work out for everyone. It is a bit roomy in the forefoot/toe-box area, which was surprising after the experience I had with the the VF2. I have to cinch down on the laces tight in the forefoot to avoid the foot sliding around. But, once locked down, the ride is a dream. So enjoyable.

  • @breegis
    @breegis Před 9 měsíci +3

    I have had both models, and the vaporfly 2 feels much more responsive, while the vaporfly 3 feels much more tame and balanced. Vaporfly 2 is just so good, and so light, and It just feels so much more powerful and responsive. Even if they made small changes, the vapor 3’s are not a big enough update to consider moving up. The vapor 3’s last longer, but lose the “magic” feel much faster, compared to the vapor 2’s.

    Thanks for the great review Thomas and Rob. But you didn't mention about the narrow mid-arches poking up in the VF3 (similar to that like the Alphafly). I have no issues with VF1 and VF2 but tried out the VF3 and this is a deal-breaker for me. I think I will get blisters/injured running a marathon inbthe VF3. Hello, I'm choosing new sneakers, I'd like them from asics (they fit my foot best of all the brands) and I don't know which model to get. I don't want any high-end model like meta speed, rather one that has good suspension for daily comfortable walking and doing all kinds of outdoor sports activities). As I looked, there are two models that would most suit what I want, and that is either Gel Nimbus 25 or Novablast 3. I don't know which one to choose. I heard that Nimbus 25 is better overall. My current sneakers are Novablast 1. The only thing that bothers me about them is that they don't seem that soft and sometimes quite unstable. That's why I thought I'd try the Nimbus model. Do you think it is a good choice? Thank you in advance for your reply.

    • @Believeintherun

      @@Believeintherun I really appreciate your reply. I forgot to mention that I also play tennis in them. I know it's not exactly ideal, but I've always played tennis well in asics running shoes, except for the Novablast 1 model. The sole was already too high to play tennis. I have also heard that the Nimbus 25 is an overall more universal shoe that is also suitable for daily wear and walks, training and more. So I will buy the Nimbus 25. I think I will be very satisfied because I have been wearing asics sneakers for about 6 years and no shoe has fit my feet better than asics. And it will be a different experience compared to Novablast 1.
