Bombers supporter here and King is spot on about Shiel and Smith, Iâm not concerned about the picks we gave up for Shiel we ended up with Caldwell from that draft anyway.
Hawks supporter and I just want to say it takes alot to say that, impressed. But you are absolutely correct, the dons mids are all about themselves. They are all outside run mids (apart from stringer) that like to rack up the possessions.

The best footy the bombers played last year was when Shiel was injured. He drags the whole team down. If I was playing with him and knew how much he got paid and he puts in so little effort I would probably put in no effort as well. He needs to go.

Dev Smith has already been dropped once in the first 4 games, Dyl Shiel has never presented all round skill, turnovers galore.
Get Kingy down to the Hangar because clearly Rutten hasnât got the balls to say it as it is to all the pretenders in red and black.
Rutten already dropped Dev Smith this year, and spoke about the contest work being the issue against Fremantle, not the back 6. He won't bake his players externally like an independent commentator like King will, for obvious reasons.

How to fix player performance: pay based on a game basis and set baselines for players to meet per game. If they reach it they get full
Payment. If they donât then they get half of what they would. Do this every game and youâll see a huge change in effort. Players donât care these days. They all think theyâre rockstars with the money they get paid. Take that away and youâll see who the real footballers are and who the pretenders are

What about the coaching
How often though in recent times would Carlton have found themselves 40 or 50 points in front at half time? They havenât developed that killer instinct yet so yes they get into those positions and take their foot off the throat because they think the job is finished. By the end of the season, or this time next year, we wonât be saying that from them and these kinds of games will turn from get a big lead let the opposition come back into the game into 15+ goal victories.
People keep bagging the club for giving up a 50 point lead, like they started the game with a 50 point lead or something. I think people forget that they had to build that lead first lol
Exactly, Carltons brand is clearly working, right now theyâre in the phase where they still learning how to win and I think it says more about them that despite giving up those leads they managed to hang on for the four points.

Its all the recruiters. They have drafted no big mids, nor secured quality free agents. Ok? Essendon hasn't been "ok" for a long time. As a Hawks supporter you really would know that. "Ok" is finishing 9th every year as Richmond did. I'd give anything to see essendon finish 9th consistently and be considered as "ok".
