On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

I have heard you say in the past the F-15E is not a good dogfighter because of its weight. The F-15EX is even heavier, does it suffer from the same problem?
are they working on the f-35 cockpit? BVR fights would be awesome with the f-35!
In an emergency, if you found yourself over-shooting your enemy in close combat, could you drop your tanks on him to either change his direction, or maybe even score a hit and possibly cause some damage? Just a thought.

Love the videos, but you have to be careful with the large viewership you have now (congrats). Multiple replies have people calling it the F-15X now rather than the actual model name of F-15EX (Boeing F-15EX Eagle II).
This was a very important mission, as that C-5 Galaxy was hauling 40 tons of tasty Sriracha sauce.

I just wish they'd use some better tactics and put up a fight, they know their electronics are worse and their missiles are worse but they still come in high for BVR with the F-15s. Where's the old ground hugging Mig and Flanker pilots sneaking in low with radars looking up to make the most of their older technology?

@@yoloman3607 The problem with that is that IF you get spotted by someone up high there is no running, there is no hiding and there is no driving it into the ground. The missile will come down from thinner air very very fast, and since it's looking down on you ridges don't help unless they're absurdly steep. And you can't get it to lead you downward, because you've got no altitude to sacrifice.

@andersjjensen in DCS that's absolutely not true. If you fly on the ground and know your enemies capabilities you can fly smart and jam through much superior BVR capabilites.

There’s a few programs where you can. I got the opportunity to fly in a trainer F-16 FF back in 2000. I hurt for days afterwards

Absolutely love the videos! DCS is an incredible game. Graphics are awesome. Just wondering about a few things. I'm relatively new to your channel. How do you turn your head and look out your cockpit? Do you have a headset on? Or do you just move your mouse? Second, is there any way you can show the very beginning of a mission? Like when you're actually taking off? Love the content man!
If i may help with this answer...
Under playlist i think he has a few vids that show his set up and capabilities and also a few vids on the language, codes, types of maneuvers and tips to get you started.
I think he has VR goggles and some type of eye tracking ability as well. Ive heard him mention both.
Beginning with "taking off" he seems to do more with helicopter vids and mission based vids where he is scrambling to defend against an attack or go provide support. Ive seen him take off from a taxi way if my memory is correct. The dog fighting and scenario vids such as this one tend to start in the air.

As I understand it the F-15EX is a 2 seater but the USAF will only fly it with a single pilot, no WSO. They did that as a cost savings since it was already in production. They aren’t making a single seat upgrade that the USAF is purchasing.

I wouldn't be surprised if they end up having wso's, tho. Since they are only a force multiple. Especially since the f15ex is gathering an incredible amount of information with its advanced radar and other sensors. Not to mention all the information that it's getting from data link. It might be more efficient to have a separate person dealing with all of that.

4:40 genuine question, did that Mig pilot ejected at mach speed (assuming due to the ejection happen first then the sonic boom came later)? Is that something advisable irl? I can't imagine what happens to the pilot's body when ejecting at that speed
To be fair, hitting the ground at Mach isn't great for their body either.
