In defense of Topsy, she, like most elephants who were executed for injuring or killing humans, was abused by her keepers.
It's essentially impossible to say that an animal kept in captivity isn't abused. You can't keep an animal in a cage and avoid abusing it.
BigMikeMcBastard especially a huge mammal like an elephant. And as a society we've not progressed much if you really look. We still keep elephants in cages, hauled from one place to the next. People want to believe because seeing them perform makes them happy that the animal receives some sort of gratification from this. At least in a zoo the animals aren't forced to do stupid tricks. Don't even get me started on Orcas in captivity. Ugh, when will people get mad enough.

Kristen Schaal has such a distinct voice. She plays Louise perfect. I picked her out on Despicable Me 2.
When she did an episode of "Archer" you could tell right away it was her. Some voice over actors have a wide range of voices, others just have the one. Yeardley Smith is another one who comes to mind.

In the beginning this was a show that I never would've expected to have such a rich songbook, so I must commend the crew for implementing enjoyable songs that still fit the tone of the show.

I have to say it; this is my favorite scene, thus far, out of all the episodes to date of Bob's Burgers. The music and lyrics were amazing!

Ok, I just got done watching the real song for like the 300th time and I gotta say something. Gene (as far as the show mythos goes) did an excellent job writing this song, the kids parts and the harmonies and the orchestra, it's really remarkable considering it's Gene. Maybe it's just because I'm a theatre major and about to get into directing and playwrighting myself, but I'm really excited to see where they take Gene in the future. I'd like to see him get more serious about writing, he clearly has a gift!

Gustav 123 LOLLL I forgot about this stupid beef hahaha. Since you were obviously so interested - I graduated with honors, got a directing internship at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis and... I’ll admit, my career didn’t really take off after that. But I did have a lot of fun, learn a lot about myself and the world, and now I direct and act in a lot of community theater to keep an interest going in everyday people, not just the big-time stuff. Hope all is going well with you, and that you’ve moved past leaving spiteful replies in young hopefuls’ CZcams comments!!!

There was also a human prisoner on death row executed during the same time Edison and Westinghouse were warring over AC vs DC current. Poor Edison just backed the wrong horse. No animal pun intended. And yes, Topsy was a seriously stressed and abused circus animal that was also used like a pack mule to haul carnival/circus equipment. Now we have ASPCA and Humane Society plus PETA but back then if you owned an animal you could practically do whatever you wanted to it. Its sad, Topsy had an awful life in captivity then died in an awful way.
Fuck PETA right in it's animal executing attention seeking faceholes.

alos, Tospsy was killed in like 1906, YEARS after the current wars came to an end. so it really annoys me that BB is spreading bad information about Topsy and edisons involvement.
'The Edison Company' who electrocuted Topsy was named after an unrelated Edison, though Thomas Edison was indeed once a member. However, Edison had long since left the group before the idea for this experiment was even discussed. The film crew who captured the incident were from Edison's own motion picture business, but he actually did not participate in the business himself in any way after founding it. He was simply the namesake. The experiment was in no way related to the AC vs DC thing with Thomas Edison, and he in fact took no part in or was even necessarily aware of this experiment, which was common knowledge at the time. But decades later, the story resurfaced, and the Edison name attached to all involved, his history with the parties and the nature of the experiment lead to popular misconception that Thomas Edison was responsible. But in reality he wasn't even connected.
That being said, he electrocuted plenty of other animals in his time. So he isn't innocent of that.
John G Yeah, Edison was such a ruthless jerk, I'm willing to accept him getting blamed for a couple things he didn't do, in the name of all the things he probably didn't get caught at. :) What kind of human being rips Nikola Tesla off? That's like mugging Willy Wonka.

I'm definitely not a fan of edison but I hate misinformation and there is no excuse for it in a time when this information is so easy to find online!. as you said, he was definitely involved in killing animals during the current wars, but that had long been over by time topsy was killed in 1903,

It should be noted that Tomas Edison had absolute nothing to do with the Electrocution of Topsy the elephant. i LOVE BB, but this episode is absolutely riddled with wrong information. Louise claimed that edison electrocuted topsy in a display to show the dangers of AC current. NOT TRUE. topsy was killed in 1906, years after the current wars came to an end. the only connection topsy has with edison is that the footage of the electrocution was shot by edisons film company. But he had nothing to do with the electrocution and why it took place. As much as I love BB, they really did history a disservice here by spreading bad information.
I am not a fan of edison, he was a ruthless business man and a glory and credit hound, often taking full credit for developers made by his team and he was involved in electrocuting other animals during the current wars, and openly spreading bad information about the dangers of AC. but I think BB really did a bad thing with this epasidoe because they just flat out lied in that episode and I'm sure many people now believe that edison had a hand in Topsy's death.
