Upper Kenai Russian River opens June 10th or 11th and depending on the run you can start limiting out on them. You can actually start fishing for the first run June 1st there in Soldotna catching those reds heading for the Russian.
Good video need to specify which area of the Kenai you are fishing. If you are fishing the upper Kenai you cannot use that number 4 bare hook flies only and they have to be a certain size 1/4 if I remember. Very good advice for the lower Kenai
They change the regulations a lot! the area off of funny river road at the visitor center is not fishing its reaping! people are 10 feet apart it is ridicules if you have a 9 foot steel head rod or a 10 foot fly rod forget it or go up or down river then you must be 10 feet from the bank.The last time I was there 2012 you were not aloud to fish sockeye July run until the 15th

Tear of Taste -3/8” on the upper in 2019. I use #2 circle hooks and I hook 95% of them in the mouth with yarn balls.
