  • Here we compare these two great themes. We look at building Gutenberg based pages using the free versions of Blocksy and Kadence. Both make very good choices, but there are a few differences that may make one more suitable than the other, depending on which project you're working on.

    Can you use them together and pull in blocks etc from both on the same site?

    I'm making a book blog with a CTP 'Book Reviews'. I used CTP & ACF to create taxonomies and custom fields. But I am unable to activate the custom field option. I use blocksy theme and elementor ( both free ). It seems that blocksy free doesn't allow custom fields. Does kadence ( free ) allow it? I can't spend more on any themes or plugins. So what combination would you recommend? Kadence + Gutenberg and plugins/ blocksy + Gutenberg/ blocksy + elementor free. Will using both Gutenberg and elementor break my site? Because the elementor ( free) doesn't allow the option to add posts which is quite essential to me.

    I'm using Sewing Course Starter Template in Kedance Theme to built my website. Whenever I make a new post. So it is updated on the Blog Page as well as the Home Page. Although I have selected the Blog page for the Post. And the Home Page was kept static. Nevertheless, every new post is updated in a part of the Home page. I want to show the specific posts permanent on the Home page.
    The same is the problem with the Review Page. Every new review is also updated on the Home page. While I want to show specific review on Home page. Can you please tell me the solution??

    One major drawback Blocksy has is that it doesn't have multiple sidebars unlike Kadence. For example, on my woocommeece store, i want filters on my shop page inleft sode and on the singe product page, inwant featured products on right side. I know that Blocksy website says this feature is available in PRO version.
    Also, i am unable to find something like a box background for shop page.

    Which theme is best for my needs? Paid or Free ! I want to run a ecommerce store for selling my digital products and for publishing many contents, its kinda of a tech blog, specifically smartphone, So I need a theme which works great on mobile devices, SEO optimised, good speed, highly customizable etc etc

    • @IdeaSpot
      @IdeaSpot  Před 3 lety

      I certainly found the mobile optimization a bit easier to do on kadence, but other than that there wasn't much advantage either way

    this video is one yr old? Looks like now Blocksy is promoting Stackable instead of Qubely as their block builder of choice. Blocksy should rather have their own block builder, like Generatepress or Kadence, instead of jumping ship from one block builder to the other.
