  • You'll learn to set up a WordPress site using Blocksy and Gutenberg. Blocksy is a very nice choice for building sites using the WordPress Gutenberg editor. Blocksy combined with the Quebly block editor gives a much improved design experience compared to trying to build with Gutenberg alone. The starter sites included with Blocksy are also very high standard.

Thank you so much! This is the best and most thorough tutorial I've found for Blocksy/Gutenberg. Even though I am just starting in 2024 and there's some differences in the menu and some app navigation, I am still able to follow through. I'd love to see if you are going to make an updated video for the same (Blocky and Gutenberg). I'm a huge fan! Please keep making tutorials! Learned so much already! You're awesome!!!👏👏👏

Finally, a good one for Blocksy with Gutenberg ... the rest of the guys on the topic completely missed the point ... they're showing Blocksy with Elementor, etc. where the whole point is Page Speed ... that's what makes these block-based themes special ... good job buddy! Keep it up ...

Astra, Kadence and Blocksy are my favorite themes to use depending on the needs of the project.
For pre-built templates, Astra wins that race. I also like the new Header and Footer builder which will get better with time. For functionality, Kadence wins because they have Kadence Blocks which doesn't make me miss Elementor. Kadence also allows you to import sections/pages from another starter template and it automatically adopts the color palette of your entire website. Blocksy is very lightweight and has good performance...good for SEO. Also works well with 3rd party Blocks. Waiting for them to release their own Blocksy blocks.
I just hope that both Kadence and Blocksy can add more pre-built starter templates like Astra. That will be a game changer for both themes.

I use Blocksy’s theme, bought the premium lifetime version. It is worth the price, though the free version is also awesome.
The performance is good, quite fast, the support is great, and most importantly you don’t have to install any page builder like Elementor for some of their themes.
Overall I am satisfied, but I can’t wait for more starter themes.

Great tut. Thx.! Is it possible to choose differend header fotos for desktop, tablet, mobile? The motif in the header foto is often not centered and will disappear i.e. like here to the right side and no longer visible. Rgds. Thomas
PS: With Elementor, I already did a workaround with one or two copies of the header in my template and gave them their relevant visibility option.

Hi Alex, blocksy has a product reviews feature. (and a free theme named product review)
(technically it is not a page, it's a post type archive)
How to add a search filter on top of the review page/archive to filter by rating/keyword?

  • @DivineJesusPrayers

Nice tutorial. Easy to follow and digest.
How do i get to display blog posts i want on my home page?
For example, lets say i want to show blog posts under these headings on my blog page - Our latest Articles, Buying Guides, Featured Posts. How do i do it using gutenberg. Does gutenberg have any post grid plugin?
I use ultimate addons post grid or premium addons post grid to achieve when i use elementor.
For my next project, i want my website to have this same capacity without using elementor or elementor addon.
I want to use only gutenberg blocks.
    Thanks.

    • @IdeaSpot
      @IdeaSpot  Před 3 lety +1

Yes! With the quebly plugin they include a free post grid block - sorry i didn’t show that in the video it was getting long - or u can keep using ultimate add ons (Gutenberg version) too that works well 👍

Thanks, there’s not a significant difference as long as you’re using Gutenberg, to build with, rather than Elementor/divi/beaver etc.
