'Taare zameen par' one of the most meaningful and touching bollywood movies. You will love it
The writer of Bajrangi Bhaijaan is the same of RRR and Baahubali. He is the father of SS Rajamouli, the director of those movies. He did want SSR to make this movie but he was busy so it went to Bollywood instead.
I feel it was a good decision since at the time, South Cinema wasnt taken AS seriously as it is now. Bollywood at the time was still at peak unlike now so it gave the movie a bigger audience. Who knows, maybe this movie could have jumpstarted the popularity of south cinema way back but no use dwelling on What Ifs. this is my opinion nothing more.

no, the father, despite being quite harsh, doesn’t actually want him out of his sight. in indian and pakistani culture, when a father offers you a job with an old friend, it just means he’s looking out for you and wants the best for you, he doesn’t want you to be a failure in life
Things between India and Pakistan were neutral and cordial for a long time but things went way down South and extreme after the 26/11 Terrorist attacks in Mumbai. Unfortunately till date the wounds of that attack aren’t able Heal. More so after those attacks it wasn’t just a One Religion vs the other after that attack it caused the whole of India pain. All Religions in India were deeply pained and shattered after those attacks. I’m a Indian Christian and people known to me too perished in those attacks. As a whole Country Now India sadly cannot find it within their heart to forgive Pakistan. Sometimes things get too damaged and it’s beyond repair. I hope things do reset for both sides and there’s a bright future ahead.

RANG DE BASANTI (2006) is a must watch. Very atypical Bollywood movie in terms of storytelling, and remarkably well executed. The same 3 actors as 3 IDIOTS (2009) appear in this too.
She may not get the references in the movie though to our freedom fighters. I did suggest Taare Zameen par and PK though, again from the brilliant Aamir Khan. 😊

1) Berfi (it is a movie that is both auditory and visually very captivating, essentially it is a romantic-comedy, and the main character of the movie is mute, I watched this movie as a child and didn't connect with it emotionally but now it's one of the favorites).
2) My name is Khan (it is one of the most heart-touching movies from Shah-rukh Khan, this movie never fails to tear me up every single time I watch it).
3) Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (it is a movie about 3 friends on a bachelor trip to Spain, each character has its own fears to overcome and find solutions to their real-life problems, it is a great hangout movie)
4) Bhag milkha bhag (it is based on a true story of an Olympic athlete "Milkha Singh". This movie is a period, this movie never disappoints in motivating me to work hard until all goals are achieved.) You ought to watch this one!!

India is a multi religious society unlike Pakistan. We have over 200 million muslims living in India. We have good relations with Bangladesh, afghanistan and most other arab and muslim nations. Pakistan is a different case. U don't know the hatred that they teach in Pakistan against hindus. Same is not the case in India. The religious hate is not extreme as shown in this movie in India. Most hindus, muslims and people from other religions eat from the same plate in India. Believe it or not.

11:23 Caste based discrimination is not always done it's a generalized stereotypical outlook. Usually Indian parents don't want their daughter to be married off to a broke guy who doesn't have a home and stable job.
😂😂. That's just a blatant lie. Discussing caste for marriage is veryyyy common even in metro cities where people don't mention caste in everyday life. It's mostly due to the older folks but many younger adults too think about caste when marriage is concerned. That's changing in today's children but isn't going away completely anytime soon. Don't think it's a problem in a love marriage though but those barely make up 5% of the total marriages so that's negligible.
Rural India specially north India is much worse. Caste dominates many aspects of people's lives. There is no large scale discrimination per se as it's illegal but self imposed segregation is still common place.
The film mentioned caste wrongly though. The girl was of different religion not caste.
