  • The study of Kabbalah - Jewish mystical texts - used to be limited just to certain men. In recent years, though, Kabbalah has gone merely a fascination of esotericism to mainstream and for a hot minute even became a trend among some big name celebs like Madonna, Ashton Kutcher and Ariana Grande. But what is Kabbalah, how has it shaped Judaism and why is it more popular than ever?

      @Wild Star They believe that the Torah and Gospels have been corrupted. That’s why the Quran came. But it’s contradictory. They believe that, and the same time they believe the prophecy of Muhammad was predicted in the Bible. When you ask them about this they say “Torah and Gospels have been changed, but NOT that”. So it’s like they cherrypick based on what supports Islamic claims, and what refutes Islamic claims they consider changed.

      Kabbalah is the Jewish doctrine of secrets and mysticism. This Torah has deep roots in Jewish thought and is drawn from ancient Hebrew mysticism, ie the literature of the halls and the chariot; However, most of its formation and publication began in Provence (southern France), northern Spain and the eastern countries in the late 12th and early 13th centuries. Kabbalah had a very large impact on Jewish spiritual life, and various spiritual movements, such as Shabbat and Hasidism, were based on it. Kabbalah also influenced many areas of Judaism, including halakhah and customs, biblical interpretation, prayer and piyyut literature, moral literature, and more.

      It is so dangerous to go beyond what is written in Torah . Deviating from the Bible to men made ideologies leads to dangerous of bringing pagan doctrines into true worship Torah .
      Jews who try to keep Gods laws and been persecuted by world to keep their traditions is great.
      Why then bring wrath of God and go after other cultures beliefs in Karbala, incarceration, mysticism this doctrine are total evil and deviation.
      Rabbis that teach this must be cast out for head g Jews from Torah to corrupt teachings.

    Jewish mysticism has been around since Moses received the Torah. The Gematria of the Torah is fascinating in and of itself. As others have commented, it is Chassidism spearheaded by the Baal Shem Tov (1698-1760) that really spread the spiritual message of Kabbalah to traditional Jews (who are have been labeled as Orthodox) as a way of connecting to HaShem, doing Mtzvot, and re-enforcing the divinity of the Torah. If Kabbalah helps secular Jews identify more with Judaism, that's cool but to really appreciate the concept of Kabbalah, study the Chumash, chant Psalms daily, keep the Mitzvot, keep Kosher, study Talmud, Mussar, and then dive in to the Zohar.

Authentic Kabbalah is studied within the parameters of traditional Jewish learning, at the highest level of rabbinic authority, and is infused into the rituals we’ve always practiced. Good stuff for sure. Over twenty years ago, I embarked on a study of ancient knowledge and wisdom initially using mathematics as my path back into history. Which led me through studies on many of the ancient religions, cognizant but not adherent, which led me to discover the Kabbalah, which led me to the Torah, which brought me back to my underlying faith that I had drifted from. I am no kabbalist, but I am thankful for that lens that it gives me on the workings between the spiritual and physical worlds.

      That's because back when the church was persecuting Jews with government authority, back when everything was done in Latin so that people were not able to read the Bible for themselves because the Church was worried about it hurting their political control, during that time they fashioned a new word in Latin called "cabala" as an accusation against Jews in order to fuel the blood libels that got thousands of Jews murdered. they used the Hebrew word Kabbalah intentionally to propel anti-semitism my literally writing conspiracy theories about Jews into the language itself.
      Over time it got shortened to cabal in English as a slur word for people who are secretly conspiring. so yes it does probably remind you of kabal, because it's the remnants of anti-semitism so severe that it was literally written into the language used by the Church which was translated into French, and then to English which was of course built on Latin, French, and German.

    As far as the Kabbalah Cult in LA and around the world, I recommend to stay far away from them. I personally went there and met their "Rabbi". I have a keen sense of personalities and recognize charlatans. This man was flawed and took advantage of other for his own grandeur. His sons are not as bad as he. They are more interested in making money. They are more businessmen than cult leaders. If they were offered positions as CEOs of major corporations that could turn them into multi-billions, they would leave the Kabbalah Cult in an instant. Of course, this is just my opinion. Long story short Kabbalah is not the deeper meaning of the book Torah 😂.
      It is black magic sent by god through two angels to Babylon whereas it was claimed that king Solomon too learned the magic but never did because he was a prophet of the Lord. The two angels warned the people to learn the Kabbalah but not to harm any others by using it. But they did use it for bad intentions and god will punish them in his own way. This tradition has been going on for thousands of years and it’s been more popular today than it ever was before. Secret demonic and evil societies use it for more power and reign such as illuminati and Freemasons. But in the end God is the supreme.
      So Kabbalah is black magic.

      The “Bible” isn’t “Christian”, since Jews are the only tradition that follows what Christianity deemed “Old” Testament. It’s a contradiction that Christianity doesn’t uphold any of the 603 other commandments in the Torah, but still somehow refers to the so-called “Ten Commandments”, really “utterance”. It’s a contradiction that Christians use Leviticus to justify their obsessive hatred against homosexuals, as an “abomination”, while the same set of laws, from the same “Five Books of Moses” also calls eating shellfish an abomination, as well as wearing linen with wool. The same teachings warn Jews not to follow false messiahs who come to claim the Torah void, which Jesus did do, but Christianity did.
      Even Jesus said he came to fulfill the Torah, meaning to observe its Laws, not to end then. He taught his followers to continue circumcision, eating kosher and keeping the Sabbath on Saturdays, as Jews still do, while Christianity does not. Jesus promised the court and public who were present at his trial, that he would resurrect and appear before them. Instead, only his followers saw “tongues of fire”. He didn’t promise he’d return in thousand of years from then.
      The “Bible” is not one thing.
      To Jews, it’s Torah, the Five Books of Moses, which is the most sacred. Then there’s the other two dozen books of the Tanak, which is an acronym for Torah, Prophets (Nevi’im) and Writings (Ketuvim). Talmud is the written record of what had previously been Oral Torah, which Christianity discarded, along with its Jewishness.
      Jesus was Jewish. He did not write anything. He taught his Jewish followers to maintain Torah tradition. Christianity was founded by Paul. Paul was an opponent of Jesus, not a follower. Paul worked for Rome, to usurp the Jesus movement, to turn it from a Jewish movement to a pro-Roman one, after Jesus died. This is why Paul also helped Rome to eliminate both Jesus and his brother James. James led the movement after Jesus was killed and maintained it as a Jewish tradition observing Torah. It wasn’t until Paul took over that the Jewish movement that Jesus led turned away from Jewish tradition and towards Europe, outside of Judea, and merged with waning Roman traditions.
      As for other “contradictions”, basic proofs of Jesus supposedly fulfilling messianic prophecy in the Jewish Tanak, or Christianity’s so-called “Old Testament “, are based on a lack of basic knowledge of the Hebrew language or the very context of the story they’re written in. For example, the notion that the messiah is supposedly born to a “virgin” is baseless. Jews never believed, read, learned, taught, claimed or expected a virgin to deliver the messiah. The text that Christians point to as supposedly predicting that simply comes from the story of Sampson, which states that a “Nazerite will be born to a young woman”, not a “Nazarene to a virgin”. Sampson was a Nazerite, which is a person who gains spiritual strength from avoiding grape products and from not cutting his hair. That’s all that refers to, Sampson and his mother, a “young woman”, not Jesus of Nazareth and his supposedly “virgin” mother. Jesus had several siblings. Nobody claimed Mary was a virgin, during her lifetime. She and Jesus’ brother remained kosher Jews.
      Christianity contradicts Jesus. Jesus didn’t contradict Torah.

    There are many approaches to Kabbalah, and the American isn´t the only one. Spanish speakers have a different background and involvement, same as French Jews. In 2020, after 3 or 4 decades of serious study of Kabbalah, the "celebrities" and pop Kabbalah don´t matter anymore.

    • @Qu4ttroStudio
      @Qu4ttroStudio Před 2 lety

      This isn’t about languages or nationalities, neither of which constitutes “approaches to Kabbalah”, which is of Israelite tradition and written in languages used by the Jews who wrote it, Hebrew and Aramaic. The “background” of Kabbalah is not from the famous Spanish rabbis who popularized it several centuries ago, or from France. It’s from Zohar, which is about Torah, and is attributed to Rabbi Shimon bar Yohai, who lived and died in Israel. The leading Kabbalist who codified the school of thought, the Ari, Rabbi Isaac Luria, lived in Tzfat, Israel. And the Kabbalah Centre is not only “American”. It’s founding Jewish family are Jewish Americans with Israeli citizenship, who lived in Israel, have Centers in Israel and who speak Israeli Hebrew. Their organization is staffed by many if not mostly Israeli teachers. Rav Berg, the founder of the organization was a Zionist and originally an Orthodox rabbi who received his learning from his Israeli teacher, Rav Brandwein, who received his learning from his Israeli teacher, Rav Ashlag.

And why do you associate "American" with that center? I´m studying right now with an American Orthodox sephardi rabbi ordained in Israel, and still there are many other approaches to Kabbalah within the Jewish frame.

      I’m not limiting Kabbalah to only reading Zohar. But you can’t ignore Zohar either. You’re the one who cited “American”, in relation to this video about Kabbalah. It’s not clear what you meant. “American” isn’t an “approach” to Kabbalah. And you haven’t made it any clearer. Again, it’s NOT about which country you’re studying Kabbalah in. You’re just saying that there are different approaches to Kabbalah. Okay. But traditionally, Kabbalah is approached through its texts, of which Zohar is the primary text. Talmud also has Kabbalistic concepts. The Ari’s Writings include the Tree of Life diagram. The famous Kabbalists all studied Zohar. The popularity of Kabbalah in medieval and Renaissance Europe is usually attributed to the re-emergence of the Zohar in Spain. You keep talking about “approaches”, but that doesn’t mean anything specific. You’re not describing any “approach” or maybe don’t know what the word “approach” means.

    • @terapiayrevolucion
      @terapiayrevolucion Před 2 lety

      @@Qu4ttroStudio I know about Kabbalah´s history ande development, I´ve been teaching it for 25 years. The first "approach" should be through Torah and Talmud. If Hebrew is fluid then it´s possible to study first Sefer Yetsirah and Bahir. And after many years of study with some Aramaic it´s possible to study Zohar (only for Maaseh Bereshit purposes) no approaches to this specific and sacred text. Then all the Maaseh Merkavah line is missing. And all of this is an "approach" unless you dedicate 24/7 to Kabbalah and someone supports the student or has a philantropher behind him.

    • @Qu4ttroStudio
      @Qu4ttroStudio Před 2 lety

      @@terapiayrevolucion
      Okay. You’re just saying that Judaism has a traditional “approach”, which is what you described. All Jews learn Torah and Talmud, Hebrew and Aramaic. That’s just being Jewish, not necessarily an approach to Kabbalah. Kabbalah is infused into every level of Judaism. We all do things that were originated by Kabbalists. We’re not all Kabbalists. All Jews also celebrate the holiday of Lag B’Omer, which is when Zohar was received. Again, that has nothing to do with which country they’re in. But it’s definitely connected to the land of Israel and intrinsic to Judaism, even though non-Jews have been reading Torah and studying “Cabala” outside of the Jewish approach.
