  • A quick look around Scottish rider John Porteous's very nice 1982 430CR Husqvarna. John races this machine with the Scottish Classic Motorcycle Racing Club and he has had some excellent top three finishes on this bike during the 2017 and 2018 racing season's.

After years of racing the Japanese big four in the late 70s to early 80s including a few of the Spanish marques, the first time I rode the earlier 390 then this particular machine I was completely in love with the unbelievable handling and finesse of this make..Yes the rear suspension looks primitive and they where down on brutal HP in the straights BUT you have enough to keep up with and blow away a handful 500 in the berms..I've actually kept my 250 till this very day for sentimental reasons and nostalgia..Both thumbs up from me Husqvarna.

Raced one of these for a few years. Agree with everything said in the vid. Very nice bike, at a slight power disadvantage to pretty much everything else back then, but very forgiving. Actually a bit lower than the Maico and KTM. A blown femsa ignition was my only problem if I recall. Wish I had kept it.

Nice bike. Found a cr390 couple years ago. Project in works. Still stock piston.
