In my opinion, I think the ash on Kratos's skin should've been a bit whiter. At first, I thought he had regular skin

true, in the first game he’s a dark toned guy, but a witch cursed him so his skin is the ashes of his dead family I think
He beard is also off too
Its fading maybe the curse is breaking because kratos is redeeming himself

It’s overall a very cool figure, especially at the price point. The comparable Neca 1/4 scale version is apparently fantastic as well and was even slightly cheaper despite being even larger-scale.

As soon as Mondo announced this figure when they did. I jumped at the bit and got the deluxe version. Absolutely love it.

Excellent figure overall, I own lots of kratos figures and this is one of the best, wish we got more characters from the games to, be nice to see the line expanded

As someone who is a huge fan of marvel legends the visible joints don’t really bother me at all. God of War is also my all time favorite video game lineup. Definitely thinking about picking this up!

I preordered the deluxe version of this figure in 2019 and received it in 2021. One of my favourites in my 6th scale collection

Bought this figure last year, it’s awesome I keep it on a shelf with my Iron Giant I also got from mondo and I just change the poses every once in a while

This is very much “the one that got away” pieces for me, totally regret not picking this guy up when I had the chance.
Though, I saw that there’s a third party version being made so I might pick that one up since I really want me a kratos figure!

I have seen pictures of the 3rd party Ragnarok figure. Looks good but I'm worried about the usual downgrade between promo pictures and final figure. If I didn't have the Mondo one I would certainly get the 3rd party figure. I just wish someone would also make a 1/6 scale Atreus.
@@chamoo232 yeah my only gripe is the weapons looking a tad under scaled. But as it stands it’s currently my only option for a sixth scale kratos figure, unless mondo decides to come out with a reissue or ragnarok version. An Atreus figure would also be dope! Fingers crossed someone has a go at him one day
@@Gioven740 One thing I did notice about the 3rd party one is the leg wraps and knee pads are mirrored. Same mold but flipped. It's not terrible but once you notice it it's a bit annoying.

Great vid. I picked up the collector's edition last year off Mondo website for retail. Then a few months later towards the end of last year Mondo had it for 25% discount. Crazy to think the collector's edition was discounted after having been on the website for so long.

My only issue with figures like these is the exposed articulation points and I hate that there is no way around it without making it a statue. I just don't see myself paying 200-300$ for something with exposed joints. No matter how good and detailed the headsculpt is.

Wouldn't it just be a statue then? If you don't want them to be exposed you Wouldn't be able to move it
@ghostguy3328 there are plenty of figures with joints that aren't exposed. Star Wars Hot Toys for example, mostly all figures have the ability to move around and no exposed joints. But that always goes out the window when a character that doesn't wear clothes on the upper body is made. Or even just a vest. I have a ton of figures from Hot Toys that have no visible seams or exposed joints, but I do understand that it's impossible to do so with figures like Kratos, the Hulk or Johnny Silverhand, just to name a few.

Premium edition here is really worth. Those extra weapons are really nice.

the only two things that prevent me from picking one up are that the skin is not pale/white enough and that the beard is brown when it should be dark gray but nothing that a white dry brushing and a black repaint on the beard can´t fix

Have you ever gotten into the NECA 1/4 scale line of figures? Their Kratos is amazing. Underlying sculpt is incredible paint is hot or miss but it’s a simple repaint. Even as a base though it’s still amazing worth picking up

Looks great and nice review. I do wonder how mondo is with announcing pre orders after showing off figures at sdcc. Still waiting and hoping for their 'the thing' horror figure 1/6. Will have to jump on that if they release an exclusive. Have reached out to mondo, but like hot toys, they don't communicate with their customers like iconiqstudios or inarts for example.

i like that usually a separate head model is for interchangeable heads of the main figure (offering different expressions etc) but here, Mimir is LITERALLY JUST A HEAD LMAO, i just find that hilarious

If it wasn’t for the yelling head or the lines on the arms and gut where the figure connects I would love this figure overall good figure though

I have the Deluxe version of this figure with the fully upgraded blades and axe. The screaming head look off to me as well because of the moustache. I think they could have made a transparent plastic piece that could hold the blades on the back as well but I managed to make something that work out of a twist tie. Last little complaint is the fur pieces. They looked better on the official pictures. They downgraded to some plastic looking carpet but that's often what happens even with Hot Toys. Mondo is not used to make figures like this so I think they did a great job. They did a Gordon Freeman figure from Half-Life before they did Kratos and it got pretty bad reviews overall.
I wish I’d have gotten the deluxe!
@@JustinsCollection For the price difference I went with the Deluxe. It was just 5$ more but to be honest the fully upgraded blades and axe are still in the box for mine. lol

@@JustinsCollection if you love the story yes, the gameplay is a little bit of a hack and slash much more so than these new ones but understanding the story of young Kratos and playing through the events up to the new games Is so rewarding, also happy thanksgiving mate!

I think the complaints i see un the overall figure is the color of the beard, the eyes look too dark, and the golden partes of the Blades of chaos should be figure, but even with that it's really nice! Can't wait You to Review the third party versión!

I'm surprised nobody ever brings up the tattoo on his face, in the games it's clearly on the left side of his head, but on this figure they put it EXTREMELY close to the center of his face. That's always bothered me so much about this figure

The reason why his chains are there when he uses them and gone when he doesn’t is because the chains are around his forearms, so that’s why they keep appearing and disappearing
