These build breakdowns are helping to inspire me, as well as giving me different ideas for the (super-budget) build I'm doing on an 05 highlifter RWD V6 Courier. I've refurbished the engine, and have rebuilt the suspension and brakes with Dobinsons and Nolathane (and other) parts. I'm now ready to do the body. I have most of my solar system, a genset, hot water system, a complete compliment of workshop tools including a small welder, compressor, vise, etc. Basically enough to do services and emergency repairs in the middle of nowhere. I'll be living in it, so the back seat is coming out to make way for 100 litre water tank and pump, plus the batteries and inverter, and whatever else I can safely keep in the cab. There's a lot to sort out but I have had weight in mind for all my purchasing decisions, and I'm keeping weight balance at the forefront of my thinking as I ponder my options. I may end up refurbishing one of the old trailers laying around the block to keep some gear, but I'm hoping to get away with just the tray, roof, and rear cab space.

40 pounds of boost, 37s and 4.1 diff gears. No surprises that it's over heating. You might be looking at that engine conversion sooner than you think with that set up, hopefully the head isn't cracked already.
@@jbjacobs87 170hp at 16 psi is the dream and what I'm aiming for or 18 psi max. All day every day reliability with td42s is so easy to achieve.. yet people are playing with boost on 4wds like I used to with my track cars back in the day (skylines etc). It's addictive but no stock engine will handle stupid boost without upgraded internals before something lets go..
I’ve known bri for years seeing the progression of her tilly has been good. She had the standard bull bar and I’m pretty sure her ex partner built her a 1 off bull bar and scrubs
Hey sam, I'm based on the gold coast and would love to be in the rig rundown, I've got a custom-chopped Jeep wrangler JK. Used to be a 4 door jeep wrangler now its been chopped into a 2 door style-side ute. Pretty keen!!
I recognised their drag tracks near my Place at Rivo. When they filled up at Vineyard I totally called it. Slushy AF roads near my place 😂solid machine that Ute
I worked on my families Cattle station at Batavia Downs near the Frenchmans track and I would use the Nissan Patrol for all the off road small tracks that lead to some great fishing tracks, but Bris Hilux would be a great tourer though!

300,000kms in a td42 isn’t really that bad. I’d start getting preservative once it hits 400,000kms. Rd28, 300,000kms, tb42 250,000kms, tb45, 300,000kms, tb48 280,000kms, zd30 direct injection, 200,000kms. Common rail zd30, 280,000kms.
