You know, I used to wonder why Miles Axlerod was a bad guy... 🤔🤔 He already was a famous billionaire, so he couldn't really be disrespected/discriminated against. I already knew for quite a while Gremlins and Pacers were lemon cars and recently, I had found out Zastava "Yugo" Korals and ZAZ 968's were as well (and I think I already figured out why people thought Zundapps weren't that great, although I've forgotten the reason/reasons right now). However, I looked up what kind of car Miles Axlerod was (based on) and read that he was supposed to be a Land Rover, which I remember I thought was weird, since I see Range Rovers daily. That was until I randomly watched a video about the most UNRELIABLE car brands and the Land Rover had a reliability rate of only EIGHTEEN PERCENT (which was, by the way, also the lowest score of ALL car brands)... 😐😐

Axlerod's plan was to pretty much rule the economy and have the lemon cars along side him. Essentially, he "created" this new, unheard of energy source called Allinol, which was really just regular, every day gasoline. However, there was a twist to his Allinol fuel. When struck with the EMP in the camera, the fuel inside of the car would cause the motor to blow. How does this relate to Axlerod's plan? By claiming that Allinol is safe and letting the races continue on with other cars blowing their engines, civilian cars began to lose trust and interest within the concept of "alternative energy." Basically this is the formula: Low demand for alternative fuels = Higher demand for oil to make gasoline. Miles Axlerod secretly still owned his oil tycoon, so he'd be making a lot more money. According to the script Miles is one of the biggest oil barrons in the World of Cars, meaning he'd be one of the main go-to sources for oil.
So, the more oil produced by Miles and the lemons, the more money, power, and influence they'd have over the economy, since cars would rely so much on gasoline.

@@SilviaLikesCherries In the movie or real life? His personality and actions seem to, surprisingly, predict how money can cause corruption, evil, and other unacceptable conspiracies that overall are either pointless or in vain (or both). Many upper class citizens world wide have let their fame, greed, and selfishness take the best of their personalities, causing them to do irrational behaviors, manipulate others in controversial methods, refusing to listen to others or consider their advice, and just doing more harm than good in the end of the day. (Trump is a great example. When he could have just waited until 2024 and maybe changed his views and personality without any violence, he manipulated thousands of his voters to wreak havoc in the Capitol, plus betrayed his Vice President (Pence) and now is in a heap of legal trouble. And thanks to all the money he's being forced to pay for compensation, not even his 3 billion dollar net worth can afford all that, and I hope he eventually gets more punishment than he deserves thanks to how he has made this country of lies live up to its name).
And in this case, Axlerod's quest to sell fuel and gain respect has caused him starting conspiracies, injuring celebrities, and murdering government agents in the worst ways imaginable, when he could have just made a commercial with the lemons to get all of his wishes without making alternative fuel look bad (not to mention the huge conspiracy that turned out in vain).

My favorite Pixar villain is Sir Miles Axlerod because is the most hidden antagonist and one of the darkest villains in Pixar, we thought in Cars 2 that Professor Zundapp was the main antagonist because he was promoted to be Leader of the Lemons but in the middle of this movie is revealed that the real mastermind was a mysterious British engine, making Zundapp the central or the secondary antagonist, and in climax of this movie is revealed that the unseen mastermind behind all the chaos all along was no other than Sir Miles Axlerod. And the other reason is that I loved the way how Axlerod was defeated, because while Mater confronts him about the sabotage during the race, he was ordering Mater to stay away, thus revealing his real nature, and also finally when see his bomb that attached on Mater was going to explode he was forced to deactivate it, thus exposing his crimes and confirming Mater's suspicions. And I also loved that Axlerod never revealed in all the movie his real nature, cuz Mater revealed for him.

I think, even after seeing your video, that the fact Axelrod is the villain still something I will never understand. When I saw the movie Mater's explanations why this car is the Lemon car boss who try to sabotage everything, let me with more interrogations...
Edit: I can finally say I've understood why this is the villain ! Everything can be summed up by one word : Btitish Leyland !
It is the fact that he is a Rover and that, by the time of the 70's, the British automobile industry failed to propose good and reliable cars that the public started to do jokes about every British manufacturer brand. This lack of good cars comes from the giant consortium British Leyland which include also Rover.
So this is why Axelrod has lost his oil during the show, because he is not a good and reliable car. Also, this is why Martin who knows the jokes about poorly manufactured British cars and because the plot of the movie is focusing on lemons cars, found ultimately the Lemon's boss is Axelrod
