    More reviews on the Butterfly Tenergy 05 Rubber here: www.tabletenni...
    Hey guys, today we are joined by none other than the table tennis legend Michael Maze reviewing one of the most popular rubbers of all time, Tenergy 05 by Butterfly.
    This is by far the most requested rubber review we have ever had, so it is finally time to find out if Tenergy 05 lives up to hype. Used by many of the top players including Timo Boll, Zhang Jike, Michael Maze and of course many others. Last week I headed to the Denmark National training Centre to pick Michaels brain about this rubber and find out why it has become so popular and what makes it so special. Hope you enjoy the video!
    Thanks to Michael Maze and Butterfly for this fantastic opportunity.

It was devastating when Michael had to end his career early, although he looks in pretty good shape in the vid.

    I have recently bought 2 sheets of 05 after many years of not using Butterfly. The difference of Tenergy to other rubbers is still tremendous, table tennis finally makes fun again even with plastic balls. I can honestly only recommend if you have the money to use tenergy rubbers.

    I played Tenergy05 on a Timo Boll ALC blade right from the start of my tt 'career'. Its an absolute beast of a bat. Since i did like 10y of combat sports i have no issue keeping up with speed of it, excercising the right technic.
    I fastly climbed up in skills and in the ladder aswell (started to beat much higher ranked club members). Now on this new level i feel like i lack some controll with the bat. Therefore i switched Tenergy05 Fx. It feels like its a little bit more soft, thus your moment of ballcontact is a little bit longer, leading to more time on the ball...
    If all hell breaks lose, i switch to my second bat, which is the michael maze magic from butterfly with xiom omega elite IV on it on both sides. This bat offers a little bit less speed but more spin overall. Since its no carbon you also feel the moment of contact better in comparison with the Timo Bolls ALC.
    Overall i'd say im pretty happy with both bats. And also the strat of having to bats which are comparable but one is a little bit slower with more controll worked pretty well for me!

    Hey Dan,
    It always a pleasure watching your videos, its quality, editing and the content.
    I always look for review comments from upcoming/club players rather than players who are well versed with the marketing strategy of brands; one of the reasons being that players who are using such expensive products have got them without paying anything whereas an upcoming player would've bought it and will know its actual value.
    In your next video, I expect a female player from your club, who is a league/local tournament player, who is not sponsored by any brand.
    I do understand that it is difficult to get equipment sponsor for such videos, but that is something what I look forward to.
    Cheers

I don't think there is any other rubber, which has so many information about it on the internet like T05 in the entire table tennis history. Basically every other rubber review has to answer the question, how does it play compared to Tenergy 05, because thats the rubber almost everybody knows.

      Happy?

    • @ttjesus4959
      @ttjesus4959 Před 4 lety

      Seriously though, the Rakza 7 is horrible for anyone who plays at the highest amateur level or professional level. Doesn't matter which blade you use it on. Doesn't matter which side you use it on. It fucking sucks.
      Anyway, don't worry so much about rubbers, if you're not at the highest amateur level or a professional. The blade is 80% of how a racket plays. Rubbers are 20%. Pay up for a great blade that has characteristics that match your style. Then, get a rubber that has the right throw angle for your forehand, and a rubber that has the right throw angle for your backhand. You'll notice that a better blade for you changes how rubbers behave quite a lot. I'd recommend paying up for everything and just being happy with everything. Save up to get the best. But, make sure your skillset matches which top level rubbers and blade you choose.
      Either way, fuck Rakza 7. I'd rather have Rasanters all day, if I'm not going to pay up for Tenergy or Dignics

    • @ttjesus4959
      @ttjesus4959 Před 4 lety

      @@markjmarkjack Depending on how much you play and what level you are, definitely get a better blade. If you want the best of the best, go for Butterfly. If you don't want to pay top dollar, then Donic is the best of the rest for blades. Xiom have some interesting shit too. But, they're hit or miss, and some of them can be heavy.
      I personally am a high level professional. And I just switched from the Primorac Carbon to the Revoldia CNF. Tenergy 25 on the forehand, Tenergy 05fx on the backhand. But, I tried the Dignics 09C on the forehand and Dignics 05 on the backhand. And I also tried Andro Rasanter R53 on the forehand and R50 on the backhand. The Rasanter R50 is one of the best backhand rubbers of the middle price range. You may find one of the Rasanters to be suitable for your forehand too. They're definitely better than Tibhar and Yasaka.
      But at the end of the day, the rubbers aren't as important as the blade is. And the Revoldia CNF is the best of the best. It has every gear possible. The technology makes it feel like wood and play very soft on pushes. But, it also makes it play like fast carbon whenever you want as well. It can do it all. Usually goes for $399.99 though. The best blade that isn't Butterfly is probably the DHS Hurricane Long 5X, commercial version of Ma Long's blade. $200 usually.
      And btw, go to prott.vip if you have any interest in actual pro versions of blades and rubbers. They're all legitimate. And no, I'm not affiliated with the site in any way. I just know that it's a way to get pro stuff, if you want it

      I'm also a long time Rakza 7 user. I tried Tenergy a few years back to see what the hype was all about. Found that it was very similar to Rakza 7, but did not last so long and was a lot more sensitive to fine angle of attack hits [plus Rakza 7 was significantly cheaper]. ie, going for maximum spin short serves, or fine contact high spin counter looping there were relatively many instances where the ball just squeaked off the rubber instead of the rubber maintaining grip - anyone else get that ? Razka 7 is great for amateur to intermediate because it’s not as sensitive to incoming spin but it does not last anywhere near as long in my experience. For players who need that extra 10-20% speed and spin Tenergy 05 is a much better choice.

    Hello! I want to ask which rubber is better, this or the andro rasanter 47 resently reviwed by u guys! I am using now a donic bluefice jp 01 turbo in both sides. Was thinking of using a slightly softer rubber with as much speed but a touch more of spin on my FH, and I am considering getting a tenergy (idk which), or the andro R47 that is suppose to have 9.5 of speed and spin.
    My bluefire is lacking a bit of "feeling" when hitting the ball on my FH, thats why I might change it.
    PLEASE PLEASE ANSWEAR ME¡ thanks!

  • @stephenphoenix-roberts9447

    I used 05 for a bit awesome rubber.
    But I say it not very durable. I played 3 time a week for 6 months.then dead,
    It’s good for pro as they change rubbers more often then a club player.

      Not anymore... Ha, ha, ha... Now tenergy is far above the rest. But there are other rubbers which are best sellers too (not much as tenergy, but popular anyway).
      Tibhar evolution mxp
      Yasaka rakza 7 (this should be reviewed here by Dan)
      Stiga mantra m
      Dhs hurricane 3, etc...
      I've got two racquets... One primorac carbon with mxp for both sides and a jool flame extreme with tenergy 0.5 on both sides too... Both very good paddles, but the blade flame extreme is too extreme I guess... Ha, ha, ha..

    Is it realy so difficult to handle it with t05 for mid-pro player ? I was thinking to buy it on my stiga hybrid wood blade actually.

    • @Hin-yi6gw
      @Hin-yi6gw Před 5 lety

      in short yes, but you never know until you actually tried it yourself. But more importantly, the durability of the tenergy rubbers is extremely low, and consider how expensive this thing is, unless you have a lot of cash to buy new ones every 2 months, otherwise you might well go for something else.

    • @fedor6595
      @fedor6595 Před 5 lety

      Hin5525 I find Tenergy 05 to be way more durable than say Evolution MXP but neither keep their top performance for very long
