One of the best songs ever written about a lost love and the beauty and purity of the music and their voices is just magic. Sorry folks but these are the facts
This song is the most pure proof of the skill of these two artists that I can't stop listening to after more than 30 years . The combination of both voices is just pure perfection. I love John's voice particularly in this song. One of my favourite Hall and Oates tracks
My dentist knows I love oldies. He asked me once, “What is your favorite hall and Oates song?” W/0 skipping a beat I said,”man eater because I am one!” Who would dream they would tour shortly after that? Went to see them, they sang everything.

As a musician I love playing Hall and Oates songs. Beautiful melodies and chords. The modulation at the end is like a mountain of whip cream. Watch the drummer grab his symbols for the hard stop. Timeless

His voice was amazing...I wish they had stopped before the 80s though! "Private Eyes" and "Your Kiss is on my List" ruined it for me. But "She's Gone" and "Sarah Smile" make it all good

Il soul bianco, vite separate diversi, uno alto biondo, l'altro più basso moro con baffi da italiano, sue origini, voci straordinarie e ancora dopo 50 anni bravissimi, a me piacciono ancora, bravi, grazie!
I was 10 years old at the time this video was made. I enjoy their voices together, and separate. They are timeless, I agree, & I don’t understand why in the world would someone give this a thumbs down.
A true classic that remains timeless. All you have to do is hear the first few bars of music 🎶 and then Daryl and John start making their magic. Forever young! 😎 💘
What can I say about this song?! I was in the Marine Corps when this song was on the radio....and I was captivated. It was the days of disco, but these guys were different! In the late 70's and early 80's, these guys had the Maidas Touch. EVERYTHING they touched turned to GOLD! Can't forget it!
My 4yr old son in 2007, in his car seat, would belt this song out while I drove. I left it on repeat as he did not want to hear anything else while he was in the car. He's 15 now and I just had him listen to it. Man I just got a 💋 and a hug. Thank you Hall & Oates.

im listening, and they were great. im a fan and they did some great songs..love this stuff. appart from the memories, these songs have real talent in the making. what lets them down is the reproduction between those days and now, but there is nothing we can do about that!!

Thanks for the info, nice stuff to know!

2023 and I'm still here!!!👍🏾
@@Johnoatesmusic.__ Hi!!!!! Nice to meet you on here as well!!!!
I grew up on this music and it sounds better today than it did in the 80's. Thank you Daryl Hall and John Oates for the great music❤
One of the bands that helped me survive disco!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hahahahaha that's a good one bro!
Almost 50 years later, and these guys still sound fresh as hell!
The best! Old people get it!
Well, this was probably at the very least 25 years ago
it says 1976 in the title, so probably 45 yrs ago.....
24 years old and I get it, I was raised on Hall & Oates, among other music 🎶 childhood favorite ♥️
How do you get Alexa to stop
One of the best songs ever written about a lost love and the beauty and purity of the music and their voices is just magic. Sorry folks but these are the facts
15 years old in '76 - lovin' life and the awesome music surrounding me since day 1! I feel so bad for kids from about 2014+ - music business is dead.
This song is the most pure proof of the skill of these two artists that I can't stop listening to after more than 30 years . The combination of both voices is just pure perfection. I love John's voice particularly in this song. One of my favourite Hall and Oates tracks
He john looks very young on this.
Marnie I agree. Check out this song. John's voice is amazing..czcams.com/video/gBZi8SvoQlc/video.html
Yes yes
My dentist knows I love oldies. He asked me once, “What is your favorite hall and Oates song?” W/0 skipping a beat I said,”man eater because I am one!” Who would dream they would tour shortly after that? Went to see them, they sang everything.
They announced at concert, “best selling pop duo of all time”
Still listening in 2020..

Amen
So am I. Basically because this is what's happening in my life right now. Only it's him that's gone.
🙋👍💃💃💃💃
Dexter Scott hell yes, NEVER gets old!
Miss my Girl, she's 22. I send her this song constantly. I miss the Shit out of her. It sucks. She grew up to fast. Love this song! Thanks for your gift of lyrics and music.🥰
This song will forever stand the test of time.
Whos still cranking up Hall & Oates in 2019 ?
Going to see them in July ...Can't wait
me here!
@@jakesleg63 Where?
@@3mrcapricorn Here in Ireland....Cork..in July
anyone with good taste.
As a musician I love playing Hall and Oates songs. Beautiful melodies and chords. The modulation at the end is like a mountain of whip cream. Watch the drummer grab his symbols for the hard stop.
Timeless
I like the way you describe things wish I could hear you play
My brother is a drummer has played most of my life and I'm a bit of a singer
so lucky to be given a true talent...music...in any way....keep going....never stop......im eccletic....if i like i like....all music end of day.......u take care and keep going......never stop

These are in harmony soul brother number two great song
Growing up in the 70's we were blessed with great music and still enjoy listening to Daryl and John are one of the best.
Still listening to Hall and Oates 2020 Daryl Hall one of the best male singers ever
Still bad ass in 2020🎼.
His voice was amazing...I wish they had stopped before the 80s though! "Private Eyes" and "Your Kiss is on my List" ruined it for me. But "She's Gone" and "Sarah Smile" make it all good
Legend 😀
Daryl was in his prime here. Great vocals, great lyrics, great band.
Yes
Man, this totally brings me back to when the world was a better place.......
Anyone listening tonight
I totally agree.
Yes, before the small hats brought us vulgar rap. They also brought hardcore porn on every child's cellphone, legal and encouraged in Palestine and in the U.S. and illegal of course in Israel.
George Waters shaking your hand
So true
This song makes me cry it’s so emotional
Yup Deb it remind's me of my mom.
born in 49 and this tune will still knock your socks off
" Pretty bodies help dissolve the memories but they can never be what she was to me." So very true!!!
Hello there, how are you doing today?
Never get tired of this song. Brings memories.
me too Patricia....lots of memories...
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather over there?
Still listening in March 2021
This song resonates deeply 4 a man who truly misses the love of his life. Shes gone forever. Adios.
Me too lost my husband too early, songs from my past make me cry, smile and think I blessed I was
How can people not love Oates & Hall?!! They are classic!!
Hello ,how are you doing, how is the weather over there?
The way Daryl "introduced" the song!!! His "pride" is delicious!!
What a smoking band. This is live music kids. Loved Daryl and John since the 70's!!!
I have a huge smile on my face listening and watching them perform. Such a great song . I love them still after all these years ❤
This takes me back to my early teens, when the world was a far better place to be. What a brillant song performed by great musicians! This song will never get old, unlike me 🤫😉😎
Cause we were young and didn't know
I was born May 17,1976. Even though I was just a babe, I think I love every song of that year.
This song still holds up today .. Great voice .Great band...
Any other Hall and Oates fans out there besides me, listening to this legendary group in 2021?
4 hours behind you! This is great stuff! There's a recent, wonderful cover of this from 'Live at Daryl's House' with Rob Thomas and Daryl Hall!
desde sus inicios,siempre fabulosos
Arcadio saberon Drummer Eddie Zyne just passed he has joined that heavenly rock band in the sky🙏🥁🧡
Arcadio saberon Me!
im listening, and they were great. im a fan and they did some great songs..love this stuff. appart from the memories, these songs have real talent in the making. what lets them down is the reproduction between those days and now, but there is nothing we can do about that!!
True musical talent.
Can you imagine today’s “musicians” trying something like this live?
Yes, this is true talent...but dont be deluded into believing that true talent died sometime back in the 70's. Im 50 and know of lots of talented "musicians" lol there are tons. Hint-you have to look somewhere other than the radio to find them😉
I just said this same thing to my husband. Listen to this talent...singing & musicianship...❤❤❤❤
@@kellyk.3855 So true. These guys had no auto tune. Pretty damned sure Bieber or Katie Perry aren’t capable of the same, live or studio.
@@headleygrange6205 i know it didnt die, but it seems the record companies dont care anymore. Its about hype and looks, not talent. So, yes, we have to look other places now vut in the mean time, we get blasted with the bullsh-t thats in the mainstream.
Still great bands out there, still making great music. It's just not on the top 40 charts.
😟They will no longer perform together l learned this week! I understand, so many decades, relationships change. They have not collaborated well for a long time. Still, thank you both for your wonderful work and the masterful catalog you gave us!!❤
50 years on ..this song still resonates of past relationships....timeless classic!
Reminds me of a woman, I can't say that to the new one.
Oats never gets the recognition for being an incredibly phenomenal singer (reminds me of Ocasek and Orr of The Cars).
