Are you up for their Astral Challenge?
Heaven's Call is a mod for The Binding of Isaac, in which it adds new planet-themed bosses and as of the most recent update, new rooms, trinkets and items! Throughout your run, you'll encounter a new type of room known as the 'Astral Challenge' room, containing a single planetarium/zodiac item. Depending on when you encounter the 'Astral Challenge' room, you'll fight either an outer or inner planet, the latter being much more difficult.
This is a bit different from my usual content here, but I really wanted to try and give this mod more attention. Ever since me and a friend found this mod on the workshop, we've been obsessing over the new bosses it adds since we both love space stuff. Each of them are chock-full of personality and inspiration behind their design and attacks! Since there hasn't been any videos on the new bosses added, I thought I'd upload me trying to face each of them off~

Oh yeah, just to clarify this:
The items you find in these rooms can be *any* Zodiac or Planetarium item. I just kept rerolling until I got the matching item for the sake of the video.
Also, Luna has more attacks than I could showcase in this vid, with some of them involving items from Other mods if you have them enabled.
Lastly, by the time you can encounter the inner planets you *should* havea stronger build than what I used to fight these guys.
In earlier versions of the mod, some of the bosses dropped ending chests on defeat. Glad they changed that lmao.
What happens with chaos? Do the bosses not spawn or smth
For the ones curious of why the reward is very low, these bosses only appear in new challenge rooms, where you can get an extra planetarium item in exchange of defeating the boss.
Also nerf mercury lmao.

I only just realized that the Errant fight is actually a reference to Outer Wilds, especially with the planets, sfx, the Quantum Shard, and the Eye of the Universe in the background.

The fact that Luna straight up does a Majora’s Mask reference as a attack is just ridiculous but it’s also crazy how it’s capable of attacking with the use of other mods such as Revelations

It's actually (🤓👆) a reference to outer wilds, that world is like Jupiter and is full of storms and hurricanes, that's why it throws lightning
The luna boss picked up more good items in their fight than i have in like 3 months

Not only that but the red clock animation that plays on saturn might also be a homestuck reference as the time stop abilities in the webcomic look similar to that, with swords and turntables!

This doesn't even look close to the official artstyle. The boss sprites look pretty bad tbh, all due respect to the creators.

hope we will get the sun aswell and even black hole since those both are a realy cool part of the cosmos. what i kinda want for the sun but is actually kind off special would be that she is an actuall end boss with a planetarium floor, even better if you can choose between sun and black hole fight
I feel like Luna should either be an alt final boss or required to defeat to gain access to the planetarium floor similar to how you need to kill mausoleum mom's heart if you want to go to Corpse.

errant looks like all of the outer wild planets, its a cool reference
I like the art but I feel the bosses themselves feel very unpredictable and unfair with the way they are telegraphed and how fast they come out. And also personally, I do not think it’s very fair to have a boss fight appear whenever you take the item in a room that is already super rare to begin with. It should be if you bomb the statue then you get the boss and perhaps an item.
They dont appear on planetariums.

i don't know if this is actually wanted, but in some forms like the eye from errant just crashes the game by touching, if it is wanted it kinda feels right on so many ways and makes it even cooler

Luna as a concept is probably one of the coolest bosses i've ever seen
i like it how alot of the attacks are based of the tainted counterpart not the actual item you pick up

Curiosity question: What happens if you have chaos? Do you get the errant fight, a random normal fight, nothing or is the room just unaffected by chaos?
Glitch items are defined by a tag, not by an id, so glitched items should be inmune to chaos

You fight Mercury, Venus, Terra, Mars and Luna *After* Womb so hopefully by then you should have a strong enough build to take them down quicker.

I really like the idea of the mod as well a the attack patterns, but i need to say this... those sprites aren't good, they don't even resemble the Rebirth art style

It's random so you've probably just gotten unlucky, but I can confirm she does appear since I encountered her on one of my regular runs.

My recording setup at the time wasn't great oops
This seems really cool and all, but the sprites just feel kind of awkward. They don't really fit with the rest of the game, some of them are barely animated, and the other animations just feel off. The mod looks really cool but I hope they update the sprites or find someone who can in the future.

What I have gathered from this video is that 3 of the bosses are nightmare inducing. Despite what it's supposed to be, Uranus looks more like boobs than a butt. And the flower in the terra fight makes me want to press mute

One thing i genuinely hate about this mod is some of the sound effects used for some of the bosses. They do not fit at all. The sonic sfx especially.
That's a shame cause this mod has some very creative ideas...
