- Betty White has died. She was 99. The legendary performer maintained her TV-icon status by acting well into her twilight years. Following scene-stealing turns on ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show,’ White starred on the groundbreaking sitcom ‘The Golden Girls,’ which multiple generations still enjoy today. She won five Emmy awards across her career that also included radio and film.
I was so hoping that she would reach 100. She was such an iconic legendary lady I’m sad that she’s gone but happy she is reunited with her beloved husband Allen
I know. When my aunt was visiting me at Christmas I even brought up to her that Betty only had another month and she will be 100 years old. I really thought she would make it.

She lived through her 100th year except for the las 17 days.
100 is just a manmade number, it doesn't really have any significance in the natural and biological world outside of us making it one. She lived a really long life and put a smile on so many faces and did so many great things, those are the things we should be remembering her on. Rest in peace Betty!
My Betty White experience: both my grandmothers died when I was 6, and I missed them terribly. This was during the height of Golden Girls. I would tune in with my parents every week, and pretend Rose was my grandmother, because she was my favorite and it helped ease my grief. It feels like I’ve lost my 3rd grandmother now. I’m sure many feel the same way. RIP Betty.

That's very understandable. Both of my grannies died when I was in my early 20s and it was extremely difficult, so Betty White felt like America's granny in general.
My Mom and I would watch Golden Girls in my parents room after my Grandma past away. It was just the two of us laughing at how similar Rose and my Grandmother really were and the fact that they were both from MN as well. RIP Betty! We will always removed you sweet “Grandma”!

How many people can say they were famous until they were 99 years old? A lot of people have their few years in the spot light then fade away and aren’t a big deal anymore but Betty literally was famous her whole life. One of the biggest celebrity losses in some time. RIP Betty!

To my sadness, it was disclosed during a GG behind the scenes special that Bea Arthur did not like Betty, and didn't have nice thing's to say about her.

Very sad. Betty white is a legend. She will be very missed. I send my deepest condolences to her loved ones and family.
Is it sad? Not really. It's a cause to celebrate. She lead an amazing life and a continuous light whenever we saw her. She gave so much and we are lucky to have known her (through the tv). We all loved her. Even this short video, I consider it a celebration of the long career she had and the indelible mark she leaves behind.
She was something wasn't she! Beautiful, Talented, Sassy, Classy, Compassionate, Caring, Always on The Mark - I can go on but let's just say she was just Betty White 😉
I don't usually bawl my eyes out when celebs die, because I don't know them. But I'm blubbing now because I'll miss this true light & treasure.
When I see Betty is going to be in something my face lights up & I know I'll enjoy it. She will be missed by many millions of people. She was a wise old broad & a funny one.

Back in the 1970s Betty White was in a play that I saw. After the play, she was in the lobby signing autographs. She talked to everyone like they were her friend and yet, she kept the line moving. RIP Betty White.
Ms. White lived a very long life. And she lived that life ,basically on her terms. She will be missed!
I learned about Betty's death like 30 seconds before I got on the bus back home. I cried the whole way, So many beautiful memories and fits of endless laughter. Betty was not just a star ... she was a hyper-luminous and beautiful constellation! If I had known that 2021 would end so sadly, I would not have gotten out of my bed this morning.

I generally don’t give a crap about celebrities and that sort of thing but Betty White was so much more. She was an icon, an institution and an example of an actor that doesn’t exist any longer. She had talent, grace and a legendary sense of humour. No tatoos, no Torrid selfies in her undies and no stupid narcissistic opinions for others to “follow”!

Now Betty and Alan are together again and who can be upset about that? He was the love of her life. God gained an Angel - a loveable, cheerful, humorous and humble one at that. Omg! I love this woman. I can't believe she's gone, I grew up in with her for nearly 50 years, she is basically my sassy TV grandma, she's is one of a kind. Thanks for the memories.

It's the last day of 2021, we have lost the unforgettable, remarkable, sensational Betty White. Just an awful way to end the year by losing a legend. I'm saddened to hear she's gone. Betty White will be missed. I know she was 99 but I honestly expect her to go on living forever. She seemed almost untouchable. She was a gift from God to us all.
There are very few people as special as her! She was kind, caring, given, loving and so funny. Her humor was endless & flowed so easily. I loved how she could insult you with a smile. God gave us true treasure more value & precious than anything money could buy! I guess he decided it was time for Betty White final curtain call. He decided to bring home the extraordinary Betty White! I just know she's has everyone in heaven laughing.

I loved Betty White. Growing up those early days when life was simple and uncomplicated, and in my country South Africa, the Golden Girls was a most loved American tv sitcom. My sister, brothers, and mum would finish our supper by 18:30 in time to sit down for another great Golden Girls visit. Alas, those days are gone. Betty White was beautiful, humorous, charming, elegant, and sophisticated. She was a true Hollywood star and icon. We will miss her immensely. The world has lost a marvellous woman.
