    Lol the music edits on this are phenomenal. Grade A 'reality Tv' music edits. I would have enjoyed a breakdown of the purchases, which units where purchased and why.
    I'm annoyed that russia used arty for minor trades so early but it all worked out. Cheers!

      Thank you! I spent a lot of time on this edit, and I kind of wanted to make this video epic/funny or epicly corny haha.
      I could make a video explaining my purchases one day. I'll probably have to make it a short game or just explain the first 5-10 rounds to spending as that would be a LONG video lol.
      My next video is setting up to be my favorite. I'm going to do one on tips and tricks. Ive got pictures and videos from over 50 games I've played to get cool scenarios.

    This was great top level platinum play. I would love to see more of these videos. I am stuck in high level gold and need all these tips to bust through once and for all.

      Thanks, I got a bit lucky in this one.
      Allies are the more difficult faction to play as.

    @Vic Weezy, congratulations on earning the #1 Allies ranking (at least currently)!! I hope we get to see new videos from you soon!

      Thanks! It's been a journey. I'll probably drop to number 2 for a little as I'm about to lose a game here, but I've got a couple more Allies games I'm winning in the works.
      I'm in the process of making a video where I played Davinator this season. He was Axis. I'm about 1/3 of the way through. I'll get it posted though!
      I also have another video I want to get down this summer titled something along the lines of "tips and tricks". I have a lot of good content in there, so I'm excited to get to work on that one as well.

      @@victorzirkle1937 Your upcoming videos sound great. My impression is that you typically play KGF, but occasionally play KJF if opening circumstances allow/require it? I'd be curious to see a video from you dissecting those scenarios and your decision points.

      @victorzirkle1937  Před 11 dny

      @@stevenlong9966 I almost always go KGF. I went KJF once this season bc of an awful round 1 for Russia. I actually should have won the game, but I blundered down the stretch against a solid platinum opponent.
      Dan and CMRCD (top 10 Allies players) are both much better than me when it comes to being a dual threat. I'm a 1 trick pony in most cases.
      I'll do the SZ37 attack if Russia had a terrible opener and try to drop a carrier and 2 destroyers off of India. I'll prep US for going KJF by buying the standard 2 subs, 2 destroyers, and a carrier.

    Thrilling finish, what were the odds on the final 2 battles?

    • @victorzirkle1937
      @victorzirkle1937  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I think the German attack on Moscow was around 20- 25%. I should have kept the tank and 2 inf back to help ensure better odds than that. The UK attack on Japanese owned Kazakh was around 50%, maybe a little less. The goal was to just wipe enough units where the threat on Moscow wasn't great for him. I played that a little carelessly given my advantage.

    Hey, I was wondering if UK R1 into seazone 37 is a thing in plat play? Would love a video on how to trade efficiently in dead zones. Also various purchase strats seen in plat play would be awesome. Is 1 or even 2 fighters for Russia ever bought?

    • @victorzirkle1937
      @victorzirkle1937  Před měsícem

      Yes, SZ37 is definitely a play that some platinum players will utilize especially if Russia had a bad round 1. I like buying a carrier and 2 destroyers if I attack 37 and then mobilizing that to India. The fighters can land back on the carrier (if the battle goes well), and it forces Japan to trade away ships in a KJF. I will then prep to go KJF with the US. If the battle goes poorly in SZ37, you can build in the Atlantic. SZ37 is a high reward attack with favorable odds. It can be attempted without too much blowback if Germany did not grab Trans Jordan or the German battleship will die in the next round.
      Trading in dead-zones seems pretty straight forward. I'm trying to think of what questions you might have about that topic that I'm overlooking. Obviously don't invest too many troops in taking the territory back. I would use a bomber or two to help trade dead-zoned territories. Trading away inf is the best bang for your buck. So for example, I would attack with 1 inf 1 bomber or 2 inf 1 bomber when attacking a dead-zoned territory. I would use 2 inf if the territory was worth more than 1 as a general rule of thumb, or I would attack 2 inf 1 bomber in any territory if I wanted my opponent to invest more to take it back.
      As far as Russia is concerned, buying an extra fg is a rare occurrence. Not saying you couldn't make it work, but buying more inf and art is really the way to go. Two fighters is not a good investment if you're playing a strong German player who can punish that. Now if a person gets awesome dice, sometimes you might see someone get away with buying things like a bomber on Rd 1 for Russia and still winning the game regardless. My point is they could have won easier and more soundly without that buy in 95+% of cases.
      As far as purchases go in platinum play you will typically see a lot more air buys. Most players will load up on inf and art for the first 2-4 rounds, and then they will buy a bomber or two. There's no right or wrong with this. I've seen tank rushes work effectively; I've seen the ole ground and pound work well where someone just buys inf and art the whole time.
      I think one of the best buys for Allies as the game progresses are bombers for UK to trade away German income (somewhere after India is pretty secure and your fleet is safe from G air). Once you amass 4/5 UK bombers, German's income drains quickly.
      As Quintin once told me, you need to view the game as a race. You want to make purchases to help maximize your chances of either going for a timing on a capital (typical Axis play) or going for income (typical of Allies but not always). In a KGF, extending the 3 vs 1 as long as possible is critical.

      @@victorzirkle1937 What a high effort reply! Thank you very much. Yeah, I was thinking about trading in terms of how many units to use, like you said vs. 2 infantry, I like to put for instance 3 inf. or 2 inf. 1 art. with air support. It's ofc. tempting to only use 2 infantry if you add in 3 from air, but I like to secure the land in case he hits on those 2s.
      In the "world championship" table tourney, I saw allies buying 2 bombers and 1 sub first round in India and 3 fighters next turn. I tried this a few times, but experienced players seem to play around this. I don't know if its viable anymore. I'm gold rank atm.(just calibrated / only have 20 games online total).
      Do you know of anyone on YT posting current Axis and allies plat level games? I struggle finding content that's recent. That being said, maybe the two year old content is just fine. I looked at your optimal openings video, liked that alot.

    GG. I think your opponent missed to go for Japan with his 2 transports on Japan round 4, pushing 4 tanks through Burma along. He would have leftover in Japan sure, but could use extra IPC and extra build sltots for extra 2 transports, which is the optimal for Japan anyways and was a good round to make them.
    This would annihilate your 2 offensive tanks in India and then the Khazakh move by the UK might be quite a different story, as 2 less casualties AND 2 less offensive troops would make a significant difference.
    And that might be the end of Moscow.
    This all him knowing that he is ready to sacrifice his German offense to strike the first punch prior to that Japan round, and I do believe he planned it as he had no real other choice after you moved the bulk of UK to Persia.

      His Japanese destroyer and transport did live against my UK fg and CC attack which helped even things out a bit. Also my US bomber dying was unlucky, but yes, his battleship dying early on really did snowball things. He's a really good player.
