"Carl Perkins: Friends, Family & Legends". It's a country album he recorded in 1991 with special guests Charlie Daniels, Chet Atkins, Travis Tritt, Steve Wariner, Paul Schaffer. Back then he appeared on many country shows promoting this song, specially "Hot Country Nights".
"Pink Cadillac" is a song by Bruce Springsteen released as the non-album B-side of "Dancing in the Dark" in 1984. The song received moderate airplay on album-oriented rock radio and appeared on the Billboard Top Tracks chart for 14 weeks, peaking at No. 27.[1] The song was also a prominent concert number during Springsteen's Born in the U.S.A. Tour." While not certain, the pink Cadillac is likely slang for a woman's sexual organ.
I agree. The piano is there, but too low in the mix I think the synth was supposed to emulate a horn section. The song is PERFECT for his style -- it's too bad the production undermines it.
@@trfesok those type of production choices were very ‘of its time’. A proper Horn Section would have helped instead. Record Company sometimes come into play. I am a ‘purist’ .. but who am I ? lol
More boogie woogie piano and less horns and synthesizer. Perkins doesn't play a guitar solo on this. Southern Pacific does a great job on this song also. Especially the live version from Farm Aid with Emmylou Harris.
Hillbilly Rock at its best.It was Carl Perkins, Elvis,Bruce and a few others. I remember when Elvis came out making erotic moves on stage, like swiveling his hips. Teacher said she might have to turn the TV off cuz his moves were not nice and against Christian values. Then Little Danny McAskill pointed out that in his Bible, it was mentioned Oholibah and other names with references to sex. That started the uproar in the class.
Carl Perkins, I heard so much about Perkins, presley, cash ,and Lewis, my mom grew in that time period. And I was her 7 year old dance partner, i thought the jiggerbug was a insects, the way we dance it look like we had ants in our pants . Carl Perkins was on his way to the top til he was in a car accident that put him out of commission. Then Elvis became popular with his talent. And you all know the rest of story . Rock and roll.😅 3:03
Aretha's song had nothing to do with this song except the two words "pink Cadillac". "Freeway Of Love" is a totally different song, although it does feature Clarence on sax.
MY GOD! WHAT A RACIST COMMENT. YOU TUBE: please delete this IMMEDIATELY. How dare you refer to that incredible singer by such a racist term. Nobody is fooled by that period you put after ba.
Fun fact, Joan Jett plays on this song with him, and it was released on his 1992 album Friends, Family, and Legends!
Boy!, How cool is that!
Driving a pink caddy wearing blue suede shoes. That's some high livin.
sign me the F up for that ride.

take me back to 1956.
You gotta admit - the man knew how to rock & roll.
I kinda always thought he was foolin
i admit it
Great great Guitarist and Vocalist!
Fantastic
..... Love Carl and the respect he gave to the King.
Love this cover of the song ❤
The BEST version of this song is this one.

🩷🩷🩷🤗🤗🤗A TRUE CLASSIC,INDEED😊😊
THOSE WERE THE DAYS
Very good music ❤❤❤
This song and particularly Cousin Carl's interpretation almost (almost) redeems that Springsteen character.
Pedazo de tema ya la he escuchado como seis veces y las que me quedan
good version
Oh boy..... POW!
Wow! Older versions of songs you knew, but did not know???
Several songs Carl Perkins did was given over to Elvis.
@@AboveAverageMan97 Springsteen wrote this in the early '80s. This version by Carl was recorded in '92.
@@bossfan49 The whole Idea of "Pink Cadillac" came from Elvis Presley's Lets play house.
Natalie Cole also did a version. Lyrics by "the Boss"..
That's in Elvis day
Love this rendition of Pink Cadillac but would like to know which album does it appear on by Carl Perkins please

Don't know if it's true....but that's interesting.......
@@user-tl7mj2bm4m It's true.
That's absolutely not true, where did you come up with that? It's about a car. A pink Cadillac. God, what a misogynistic comment.
Carl Perkins doing Brooccceee. Don't get much better, do it?

I can't get on with that synth.I'm a big CP fan but I'd a replaced with a pumpin' Piano.
I agree. The piano is there, but too low in the mix I think the synth was supposed to emulate a horn section. The song is PERFECT for his style -- it's too bad the production undermines it.
_CP..._

Agree. That synth is horrible. They should have just had tenor and bari saxophones.
Thank you Rockinman8. Bruce couldn't hold Carl's pick.
Agree...
@@user-tl7mj2bm4m Someone should have told Carl, since Bruce wrote the song.

He copied those moves from Carl Perkins.
The Boss does an amazing rendition
This is my favorite pink Cadillac singer Natalie Cole is also good
It's actually a Bruce Springsteen's song
I agree with little Richard that all trumpets should be melted down and made into belt buckles!!they were just so wrong for this song
Not trumpets here - just a crappy 1980s synth sound.
Was this the original?
No. Springsteen wrote it in the early 80s. This was recorded in 1992.

gosh..is he the original singer of this 'Pink Cadilac'? i though it's belong to Natalie.😬
Nah. It's Springsteen.
The song was written by Bruce Springsteen. Perkins recorded it in 1991.

Bruce Springsteen was the original, Natalie Cole made a sensational cover too
And the ba. Boon Aretha Franklin appropriated for an '80s song. SMH
