Red squirrel smiles happily while hand-feeding (Full HD)

I feed red squirrels since 2008 in Heilbronn, germany. There are many at the local main cemetery. So the red squirrels are familiarized to the pedestrians. Also hand-feeding is possible, if you are patient.
It seems that the squirrel smiles happy for getting a walnut. Just look at the corner of his mouth. The following video was taken at march 8, 2014 with a samsung galaxy note 2. Have fun.

That truly was a smile too. It's not just anthropomorphism either. It's also not necessarily about the corners of this critter's mouth either. It's more of an expression that fills his entire face. The sparkle in his eye and the spring in his step. It's the light-on-his-feet confidence in which he approaches the person with the nut. Clearly, he's been here before and knows the treat that he's about to get. These little guys are as individual as any other creature and are capable of feeling happiness, sadness, love, and all of the emotions that we were always taught were strictly the purview of humans. I'm happy to see that this notion is being recognized more and more these days. Very cute video. Thanks for sharing it.

I have red fox squirrels here in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The mama's will take peanuts from me. I love how their tiny "hands" paws feel when they hold on.
